You are looking at a 2012 Elantra GLS with the preffered Package.  It has all the standards like power windows, door locks, keyless entry, Traction Control, Cruise Control, Telescopic and tilting steering wheel, but also has the upgraded 16" Alloy rims, the Steering Wheel audio controls, Bluetooth hands-free phone system with voice recoginition, sliding center armrest, illuminated vanity mirrors, and foglights.  Included are the embossed Elantra floor mats for the front and back seats as well as the carpetted mat for the trunk.  There is the cargo net, cargo tray, and rear bumper protector.  We are including the iPod cable and we also got the mud guards on all four tires.  The tires were replaced with brand new all-weather tires less then 3000 miles ago.  We added a Viper remote car starter that will allow you to start the car, unlock and lock the doors, and pop the trunk from up to 2000 feet away.  This remote start system will also give you confirmation that the car is started and lock status anywhere within range.  The Radio has an AM/FM/CD player with the XM tuner already on-board and iPod integration.  All the controls for the radio are also located on the steering wheel for easier use.  The back seat has a fold down armrest and the rear seats fold down for more storage.  The front seat area has the sliding center rest for better comfort.  The car is in like new condition.  We have all manuals, two keys, the original keyless entry transmitters, two of the Viper transmitters, and even the original window sticker.  This car has never seen an accident or even a door ding.  Gas Economy is 29 and 40.

Get a great deal on a virtually brand new car.  This is a No Reserve auction and the car will go to the highest bidder.  I have the title in hand ready to sign it over to the new owner.  I will only accept cash, bank transfer, or certified check.  If you are using certified check, you must pick the car up when the issuing bank is open so we can verify the validity of the check.  We will need communication within 24 hours of auction end so we can figure out the details of you picking the car up.  I would prefer that you pick the car up within a week of auction end, but that can be negotiated.  If that is not possible, please email before you bid.  We will not ship the car, but we can pick you up at an airport if you fly in (preferably Dayton or Toledo).  We are still driving the car, so the mileage will not be exactly what you see here, but will be close.  Please email with any questions.  Thanks for looking and good luck.

Hyundai rehires R&D president let go over quality issues

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

Last November, Hyundai announced the resignations of research and development president Kwon Moon-sik and two other R&D executives. At that time, it was said that the executives wished to "take responsibility for a series of quality issues" at the Korean automaker. Kwon Moon-sik had only been in the position for a year, but some of the quality issues thought to have caused the resignations included recalls of the Genesis and other sedans around the world, along with the company's much-publicized fuel economy overstatement controversy - both of which dealt with matters that transpired before Moon-sik took his position. In its statement at the time, Hyundai said, "The latest personnel change shows our firm commitment to quality management and reaffirms our will to continuously improve R&D competitiveness."
Three months later, Reuters is reporting that Moon-sik is back with the company, a statement announcing the rehire saying, "Given his expertise, experience and leadership skills, we reinstated president Kwon to enhance quality and R&D capability from scratch." Company chairman Chung Mong-koo is said to have a reputation for firing then rehiring workers, and it's possible this rehire is especially timely because Hyundai will bring its new Sonata to market this year and likely wants its experienced R&D captain at the wheel.
The man who had taken Moon-sik's position has returned to his previous post as head of powertrain development. However, in another surprise resignation, the head of Hyundai's design center, Oh Sug-geun, has left the company for "personal reasons." He has been replaced by Lee Byung-seob, who moves up from his position as head of exterior design.

Hyundai Ioniq 6, Genesis GV70e continue EV product blitz through 2022

Tue, May 11 2021

A Hyundai presentation to investors has revealed an onslaught of competitive-looking products coming in the next couple of years. It includes more electric variants of existing vehicles, as well as dedicated EVs for the Ioniq sub-brand, as well as updates for popular existing models that have to ensure they don't get stale. Perhaps the biggest news is the fact that Ioniq 6 is sedan will follow the retro-cool Ioniq 5 hatchback, hitting the road by 2022. With styling flowing from the stunning Prophecy concept revealed last year, it will help bolster the Ioniq sub-brand as an exciting choice for mainstream EVs. It's classified as a C-segment sedan, meaning it will be about the size of a Honda Civic. But before the Ioniq 6 arrives, a yet-unnamed CUV will also join the lineup in 2021. It's not clear whether that model will be for foreign markets or the U.S., but either way Ioniq is shaping up to be a strong nameplate. However, that doesn't mean it will be the sole source of EVs in the Hyundai empire. Following the launch of the battery-electric G80 later this year, Genesis will in 2022 offer an battery-electric version of its GV70. These will be named the G80e and GV70e, if trademark filings discovered earlier this year are any indication. Unlike the Ioniq 5 and 6, it will likely take the shape of their gasoline-powered counterparts with only minor styling changes. In 2022, updates to both the Sonata and Palisade will hit the market. Both vehicles were all-new in 2020, and their strong designs still appear fresh. However, Hyundai clearly understands the importance of keeping its bread-and-butter offerings fresh in a competitive market, unlike some Japanese and American automakers we could mention. Nowhere in the presentation was Kia mentioned, as the company is trying to keep the brands separate. However, Kia's boss has said it is going full steam ahead in the EV push, trying to outdo even Hyundai. The Hyundai juggernaut shows no signs of slowing down, and other automakers should take note (or be very afraid). Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. 2015 Hyundai Genesis appears uncovered [UPDATE]

Thu, 17 Oct 2013

Hyundai gave us a tease of its second-gen Genesis sedan courtesy of the HCD-14 Genesis Concept displayed at this year's Detroit Auto Show, and while we've seen numerous spy shots of the car testing since (both on and off the track), all were heavily camouflaged. That all changed today when the South Korean site bobaedream.co.kr posted an image of the new luxury sedan sitting out completely uncovered (click the image to enlarge).
While we can't see much more than the face of the new Genesis sedan, it does appear to be a striking improvement over the current car that debuted back in 2008. The jutting, upright grille is very similar in appearance to the HCD-14 Concept, while the headlights and fascia look like a combination of Mercedes S-Class and E-Class. The body creasing isn't as dramatic as the concept, but the roofline and glasshouse look to be almost identical to the show car. Based on how finished the car looks in this picture, our guess is that we could see Hyundai's new Genesis at an upcoming auto show like LA or Detroit.
UPDATE: Per the request of the individual pictured next to the Hyundai Genesis in the original photo that spurred this story, we have removed said image from the post. You can still see the new Genesis here at the source, for the moment.
