Description

Up for sale is a gorgeous 2009 Hyundai Elantra GLS sedan equipped with a strong yet fuel efficient 2.0L engine and Automatic transmission. This Elantra has just 14k original miles on the clock and it runs and drives LIKE NEW! We have recently purchased the car from an insurance company with water damage announcement. When we got the car, there were NO signs of water inside! The carpet was dry and all connectors and electrical parts were intact. There was NO damage to the engine or transmission.

We have professionally checked the wiring and connectors, detailed the interior and installed a brand new battery. The car runs and drives GREAT with no problems. Engine, transmission and all electrical components including power windows, radio, blower motor etc. work fine. The interior is extra clean with no rips or odors of any kind, still smells LIKE NEW! This is a NON-smoker vehicle. All tires are still in good shape.

Due to huge number of vehicles affected by Hurricane Sandy, insurance companies simply did not have time to carefully inspect every car. They did not attempt to start vehicles or verify mileage if the battery was dead etc. That's why they marked "Not actual miles" on the paperwork for most cars, including this one. The actual mileage on this Hyundai is just 14872 miles!

This Elantra is nicely equipped with Power Windows, locks and mirrors, Cruise Control, Side Airbags, Bluetooth, iPod Integration, AUX/USB Ports, CD, XM radio and much more! The car comes with NJ rebuilt salvage title. The car has already passed NJ salvage inspection, so you should be able to register it in any state with no problems.

This Hyundai Elantra runs and drives great, engine and transmission work 100%. There are NO leaks or noises of any kind, NO warning lights on the dash, NO stories! If you've been looking for a clean and reliable ride that won't break your bank - this is it! We try to describe our cars as accurately as possible, but please remember they are used cars and therefore are not perfect. We cannot describe every small detail, so if you have any specific questions please ask them before bidding. We cannot guarantee the condition of wearable and routine maintenance items - tires, brakes, rotors etc. - please take it into account and bid accordingly.

Hyundai pulls motorsports in US, parts ways with Rhys Millen Racing

Wed, Dec 10 2014

Automakers don't necessarily undertake racing programs in proportion to their size. A company like Ferrari or McLaren, for example, may be small, but their racing programs are huge. The inverse could be said of a company like Hyundai, which has grown to rank among the largest automakers in the world, but has traditionally maintained a relatively short reach when it comes to racing. And now it's getting even smaller as the company is shutting down its entire motorsport program in the United States. Not that the program was that big to begin with in the first place. Although Hyundai recently launched a factory effort in the World Rally Championship, in North America its competition activities revolved essentially around Rhys Millen Racing, the California-based outfit with which the Korean automaker has tackled Pikes Peak, Formula Drift and the Global RallyCross Series – the latter of which Millen describes as "arguably the fastest most exciting form of racing to hit the US in years." But now Millen has announced that Hyundai has withdrawn from their partnership that has stood for six years. Without support from the automaker, Rhys Millen is putting up his Hyundais for sale or rental to any privateer team interested in getting in on the RallyCross action, while the team looks for a new partner with which to move forward. As for Hyundai, it seems the automaker may have stretched its motorsport budget a little thin with the WRC effort, on which it will now apparently rely to establish its racing cred. We reached out to Hyundai for clarification on its future motorsport plans in America, but representatives weren't immediately available for comment. We will update this story when and if we hear back.

Hyundai and Kia recalling 1.6M more models for faulty brake switch

Wed, 03 Apr 2013

In what is likely the largest recall campaign for Hyundai and Kia, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a recall of more than 1.6 million models due to a faulty brake switch. This is in addition to almost 700,000 Hyundai and Kia models recalled for the same problem back in 2009.
In more than 620,000 Kia models and 1 million Hyundai products for the 2007 through 2011 model years, the brake switch could malfunction causing the brake lights to not illuminate, which could lead to accident. Other possible issues with a faulty switch include the cruise control not cancelling with the brake pedal, the push-button starter not working properly and the shift interlock not disengaging causing the transmission to be stuck in Park. To fix the problem, the brake lights switch will be replaced.
Due to the large number of units being recalled, both automakers are issuing a notice by next month with parts not expected to be ready until June. The full list of affected vehicles and the NHTSA press releases are posted below.

Hyundai and Kia announce $3.1-billion investment in US facilities

Tue, Jan 17 2017

Update: A US spokesperson for Hyundai had no further information, but called the reports about the automaker's investments accurate. Hyundai and Kia announced this morning a plan to invest $3.1 billion into its US facilities over the next five years. According to Automotive News, the new investment is a 50-percent increase over what Korea's two largest automakers have brought to the US in the last five years. The automakers already have several large-scale manufacturing bases in the US, but the new investment could bring another plant into the fold. There is the possibility of producing a Genesis product in the US or building a new plant for a US-specific crossover. The announcement is the latest US investment plan as President-elect Donald Trump prepares to take office Friday. Trump has singled out automakers for not building cars in the United States, and Ford, General Motors, and Fiat Chrysler all announced plans to invest in the US since the beginning of January. Skeptics say these moves would have to be years in the making, though Trump has been quick to take credit for them. Not all of the new money will go toward building new plants. Hyundai and Kia could simply expand the already busy plants in Montgomery, AL, and West Point, GA. Beyond that. The automakers could further their research into electric and autonomous vehicles. Like many other automakers, the two Korean giants have backed down from planned expansions into Mexican manufacturing. Although many automakers currently build or were planning to build new vehicles in Mexico, threats of importation fees appear to be causing caused automakers to refocus some of their efforts toward US production. With all this new investment in the US, Kia and Hyundai said there will be no jobs moved to Mexico. Meanwhile, this morning GM announced plans to bring truck axle manufacturing back from Mexico. As with all of the recent announcements, Hyundai and Kia stated that Trump's upcoming presidency played no part in the decision to reinvest in the US.
