Up for sale is a 2000 Hyundai Accent GL 4-Door Sedan.Black Exterior/Charcoal Gray Interior. This car is an excellent mechanically driven vehicle. It starts right up every time and it has never broken down on me .It has 4 relatively new tires and I recently put front brakes on the car.The air conditioner blows ice cold air every time.It has a newer battery installed and the alternator was also replaced.I recently tuned the car up with 4 new spark plugs and 4 new wires, air filters and an oil change.I change the oil regulary. This car also comes with a custom JVC AM/FM/CD player head unit that is also smart phone compatible so you can play your down loaded music on it..I installed 4 new Pioneer speakers.2-front,and 2-rear.Everything is working on the car inside and out.The interior is a charcoal nylon cloth color and it is very clean inside the car.The dashboard is solid and the seats are in nice shape with the exception of a small cigarette hole on the front passenger seat. That was there ever since i bought the car back in February of 2010.I will repair it.I do not smoke.I will also put a new set of floor mats inside the car.I give the interior of this car a solid 8.Mechanically,this car runs great. It has never broken down on me.There are also no fluid leaks. The transmission shifts properly and the engine runs smooth with no noises.i did have the overdrive in the transmission replaced. The original overdrive was showing wear so i just had it replaced for 500.00..I also replaced the right passenger CVC axle because the rubber boot split and that caused it to wear the bushing..That cost me about 135.00.

As for the Exterior,it is black and the paint still has shine to it ..Although,there are some dings and scratches on the outside of the vehicle..There are also a couple of very small area rust spots on the vehicle..Nothing too serious, and it's been there since i bought the vehicle 3 years ago and it hasn't gotten any worst..The exterior I'de give a 6-7..The paint is not that bad. It's the dings and dents that are the issue. This car isn't a mint condition shape car but i'll say one thing about this baby,is that it always starts right up and it goes all of the time for me.I can count on this car to get me to where i want to go and for cheap. This car is a great transportation vehicle.Or it can be a nice starter car for a kid going to school..And it gets awesome gas mileage..26 city-34 highway..I have the original sticker price papers to validate that. So, to sum this car up is to say that it is a nice little gas saver with some nice extras,(ice cold air conditioning,a really nice sounding stereo system). And it's very easy to drive and it has been very dependable for us.I am only selling this car because we own 4 other cars.A lincoln town car,A chevy malibu that's also good on gas,A lexus and a Classic Mercury Grand Marquis.we need big luxury cars now for our comfort.
So thanks for reading about my 2000 Hyundai Accent and now you can decide weather it is or isn't the car for you .The price is right in my opinion. There is a no reserve on the bidding and the starting price is dirt cheap..I paid about 3 times that amount 3 years ago for it.So good luck and bid with confidence and honesty. And thanks again!!!

Keep it simple, stupid | 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid and Plug-In First Drive

Mon, Feb 20 2017

The Ioniq is Hyundai's "golden medal project," conceived from the outset as a car to beat the Toyota Prius and be the most efficient on the market. Ki-Sang Lee, Hyundai's senior vice president in charge of eco R&D, promised that if they could accomplish that feat, he'd give every single engineer on the project a gold medal. The result of their work is an attractive trio – hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric – built on the company's first dedicated green vehicle platform. And Lee gave out more than 500 gold medals to his engineers. With a growing number of drivers – bolstered by Millenials replacing the buying power of baby boomers – who value efficiency and consider the environmental impact of their purchases, hybrids and electric cars should be a popular choice, right? While cheap gas has not helped to encourage people to make the switch to greener vehicles in the last couple years, the added cost and complexity of electrified cars have also been barriers to wider adoption. Hyundai's approach appears solid. The Ioniq hybrids are straightforward, affordable, and something drivers would be proud to own without appearing smug. So Hyundai has built the car people claim to want, but will the drivers show up at dealerships? The Ioniq is attractive for a number of reasons, not the least of which is pricing. The Ioniq Hybrid starts at $23,035, undercutting the Toyota Prius by $2,535 (with its base MSRP of $25,570). It's also more efficient, with EPA mpg figures of 57 city/59 highway/58 combined. The most efficient Prius (the Two Eco trim level) falls slightly short at 58 city/53 highway/56 combined. While the Ioniq Plug-In Hybrid doesn't have price or fuel economy figures yet – it doesn't go on sale until the fourth quarter of 2017 – we do know its 8.9-kW battery pack offers over 27 miles of all-electric range and can be topped off in 2.5 hours on a Level 2 charger. The Ioniq's green cred doesn't stop at its efficient powertrain. Sitting inside the cabin, you wouldn't realize that the soft plastics contain 25 percent sugar cane, or that the headliner and carpet contain about 20 percent of the same renewable plant material. There's no way to tell by look or feel that door trim uses recycled plastics mixed with wood powder and volcanic stone, making it 20 percent lighter. Interior metallic paints use soybean oil to lessen their environmental impact. Even better, it all agrees with the senses.

Recharge Wrap-up: Nissan UK battery plant, Hyundai EV/FCEV station

Thu, Jan 21 2016

Hyundai has opened a joint hydrogen fueling/EV charging station in South Korea. Called a "Fusion" station, it allows customers to take advantage of both types of alternative energy Hyundai uses for its vehicles. The station in Gwangju began as a hydrogen station, and EV charging capability was added recently. While users will have in common the use of green energy to power their vehicles, it will be interesting to see if spontaneous debates erupt between drivers over the merits of the two alternative powertrains. Hyundai will now use the hydrogen fueling part of the station to study fuel usage. Read more at Inside EVs. EV charging company EverCharge is teaming up with Schneider Electric to provide charging infrastructure to multi-tenant buildings. Because of the limited electricity for buildings like apartments, condominiums and offices – as well as the fact that multiple occupants often share power – installing charging at such locations has been challenging. EverCharge's SmartPower technology senses excess or limited power supply, and uses it to charge multiple vehicles accordingly. The groups will use this technology along with Schneider Electric's EVlink Home EV Charger to provide charging services at these otherwise difficult locations. Read more at Green Car Congress, or at the EverCharge blog. Nissan will build fourth-generation lithium-ion batteries for the Leaf at its plant in Sunderland, England. The announcement comes amidst rumors of the automaker outsourcing battery production. The decision means that Nissan's $37.5 million investment will preserve 300 jobs at the plant. The factory currently manufactures second-generation, 24-kW Leaf and e-NV200 batteries, and imports the third-generation, 30-kW Leaf battery from Nissan's plant in Smyrna, Tennessee. "Today's announcement reflects Nissan's intention to remain EV leaders for many years to come, with our European operations at the heart of our future innovations," says Nissan Europe Chairman Paul Willcox. Genesis' decision to build the Electrified GV70 in America is a sign of things to come

Tue, Mar 21 2023

As Steely Dan famously sang, they call Alabama the Crimson Tide. Here in Montgomery, we’re knee-deep in a Green Tide thatÂ’s transforming the business of building and selling cars. The high-style Genesis Electrified GV70 emerging from Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA) is the first Genesis built outside South Korea. ItÂ’s only the second made-in-America EV from a foreign-based automaker, after the Volkswagen ID.4 whose Tennessee production kicked off in July.  Get ready for many more. Spurred by the Inflation Reduction Act — whose final interpretations and outcomes remain in Washingtonian flux — automakers foreign and domestic are scrambling to onshore EV-and-battery production to boost American jobs and security, as a condition to securing lucrative tax incentives for manufacturers and consumers. Beginning in 2024, qualifying for EV credits may even require sourcing a hefty percentage of minerals and other battery materials from America or approved trade partners, a list that conspicuously does not include China or Russia. As things stand, that sticking point could make a vast number of 2024 EVs ineligible for purchase credits; though leasing a vehicle may still earn dealers a $7,500 commercial credit that they could pass along to consumers, as most currently do for EV lessees.  The electric version of GenesisÂ’ most-popular SUV is the avatar of Hyundai MotorÂ’s $10 billion American EV investment, which is expected to foster up to 8,000 good-paying jobs. Even thatÂ’s a fraction of what Atlas Public Policy estimates to be $128 billion in industry-wide investment in AmericaÂ’s EV, battery and recycling capacity through 2030 alone. HyundaiÂ’s planned onshore footprint includes a new battery factory northwest of Atlanta, and a $5.5 billion EV factory near Savannah that aims to produce Hyundai, Kia and Genesis EVs beginning in 2025. Beginning that year, Genesis says every new model introduced will be an EV, with no fossil-fuel option. And Genesis plans to phase out gasoline-powered models entirely by 2030, a similar timeline to luxury brands including Volvo and Cadillac. In Alabama, where Hyundai also builds the Elantra, Sonata, Santa Fe and Santa Cruz, an Electrified GV70 is hoisted onto a lift for the final stop on its 16-hour assembly journey.
