TERMS AND CONDITIONS Ebay customers must contact KING OF CARS within 24 hours of the end of auction or any other commitment to purchase through Ebay. All vehicles are for sale locally and we reserve the right to end any auction at any time. All sales require a $500 deposit within 24 hours of sale agreement. Deposits can be made by phone with credit card (Visa, Discover, Master,american express Card), cash or cashier..s check. Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE. Deposits on vehicles not purchased are applied towards the significant costs of paperwork and title production, advertising costs, Ebay listing fees and lost dealership productivity. Full payment is to be received within 3 days from the end of the auction. Full payment is due before vehicle delivery. All sales are subject to a flat $190 administrative and dealer services fee. Our administrative and dealer services fee is collected by king of cars and is not required by law. We charge a $55 title fee which includes temporary tag. Out-of-state buyers are responsible for taxes and registration fees in their own states. NJ residents pay a 7% state sales tax. All sales are finalized at our place of business. Pre-buy vehicle inspections are encouraged and will be performed on our premises. Inspections performed after the point of sale will not be accepted or considered. Some vehicles are still under factory warranty (check description) or an extended warranty may be purchased for vehicles under 175,000 miles. We encourage trade-ins and can give you an estimated value of your vehicle over the phone or by e-mail. Canadian man saves four kids with Hummer [w/video]
Sat, 08 Sep 2012A quick-thinking driver in Canada put his own life on the line last month when he drove his Hummer H3 in front of a distracted driver to save four children. Darrell Krushelnicki, 46, of Taber, Alberta, saw a car about to speed through an intersection. Four kids, whose ages ranged from three to 16 years old, were in the in the crosswalk, so Krushelnicki pulled his truck in front of a silver Pontiac Pursuit (known as the Pontiac G5 in the U.S.) to prevent them from being hit.
The identity of the other driver is unknown, but the news report says the 23-year-old male was talking on his cell phone while traveling around 80 kilometers per hour (close to 50 miles per hour) in a 30 kph speed zone (less than 20 mph). Thankfully, nobody was hurt, and while there's no word as to whether the distracted driver was ticketed, police say that they're recommending Krushelnicki for an award.

Texas sues GM, saying it tricked customers into sharing driving data sold to insurers
Wed, Aug 14 2024Texas filed a lawsuit Tuesday against GM over years of alleged abuse of customers' data and trust. New car owners were presented with a "confusing and highly misleading" process that was implied to be for their safety, but "was no more than a deceptively designed sales flow" that surrendered their data for GM to sell. The suit contends that at no point was selling driving data ever even suggested as a possibility, putting GM in violation of the state's consumer protection laws. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is seeking a jury trial and at least $10,000 per offense (every GM car sold in the state since 2015) and a hefty add-on of $250,000 in cases where the victim was over 65. Texas seems to be flying high after a recent $1.4 billion settlement from Meta over other privacy concerns. This may well be a way to solve any pending budgetary issues in the Lone Star State.
