Netflix to feature electric cars from GM and others in programming

LOS ANGELES — Netflix has unveiled a new star for some of its upcoming programming: electric vehicles from General Motors and other automakers. The streaming service announced an agreement on Thursday to feature vehicles including the Chevrolet Bolt, the electric GMC Hummer pickup and the Cadillac Lyriq in TV series and films "where relevant." The companies will highlight the partnership in a commercial featuring Will Ferrell that will air during the Feb. 12 Super Bowl. Netflix and GM called the agreement "part of a commitment to a more sustainable future." Financial terms were not disclosed. Netflix said it will help creators "better understand how EVs can complement and enhance their stories." Shows that will feature GM's electric vehicles include "Love is Blind," "Queer Eye" and "Unstable." Regrettably, in the following decade we suffered 9/11, were waging two wars, and then the economic downturn struck. And despite the relative sanity offered by the smaller H3, GM entered into Chapter 11 in 2009 and killed off Hummer. With relatively few sold in the five model years it was offered, finding a clean H3 is a challenge. We like the H3's smaller footprint - relative to the huge H1 and Tahoe-based H2 - and the quirkiness of an inline 5-cylinder matched to a 5-speed manual. With this for-sale example, offered in Arkansas, you'll find mileage perfectly reasonable for a vehicle now 12 years old, and it looks clean. Tupac Shakur's 1996 Hummer H1 is for sale

Tupac Shakur purchased this 1996 Hummer H1 on August 13,1996. This was just one month before the singer's death. It was his personal vehicle for a brief time and the last vehicle the rapper ever purchased. Now it's up for auction to the highest bidder. It comes with a 6.5-liter turbodiesel V8 engine, an automatic transmission, and only 10,101 miles on the odometer. There are also 38-inch Dick Cepek off-road lights, a 360-degree spotlight, grille guard, and diamond-plate bumpers. An external PA system with three sirens and 12-disc Clarion sound system are also part of the package. The car was held in storage after Tupac's death, and eventually became a prize in a 2003 BET raffle. It is currently sitting in storage again in Vancouver, Canada awaiting the right buyer. RR Auction estimates its value at over $100,000 so it'll take some serious cash to put this car in your driveway.
