Vehicle Description

1993 Hummer H1 with approx 109K miles.

White with Tan Interior.

6.2 diesel engine with GM Turbo400 automatic transmission.  (The factory 3 speed trans, so the top speed is about 60MPH)

Other features include:

Intermittent Wipers

Towing Package

Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS)

Steel rocker panel protection

Matching M100 Trailer

Vehicle Condition - Exterior

Vehicle is in good condition.  The paint is not perfect. It has several small scratches and chips..  I am not advertising this as a show truck because I believe show trucks need to be 100% perfect.  I have several pictures below to indicate the condition of the truck. Please look carefully at the pictures.

The wheels are the steel 2 piece wheels made specifically for the H1with CTIS lines.  These lines have a factory quick disconnect that allows you to separate each tire from the CTIS system.

The tires are 37” Goodyear MTs with about 60% tread life.  These tires are good for on road and off road use.   I also have a 95% tread life set of Goodyear MTs mounted on steel 2 piece rims with the runflats and beadlocks installed, that are included with the sale of the truck.

The truck has a new set of upper door halves (windows).  I also have an extra drivers window, plus the old take windows…so you can go off-roading without having to worry about scratching your new windows.

The truck has an in-bed spare tire carrier that folds down.

The Military M100 trailer is included with the purchase of the truck

Vehicle Condition – Interior

Interior is in good shape.  It has leather seats and they are in good shape with no rips or tears at all.   The rest of the interior is in good shape except for a few small hole and scrapes.  The center console has a hole in the top of it.   Please look carefully at the pictures, you will see how the truck looks inside.

This truck has the factory air, but the air conditioning compressor was  removed from the engine.  The truck has the removable upper door halves, so it has great through flow ventilation.  The A/C is not really needed.

Vehicle Condition – Driveline

The engine starts and runs perfectly.  The injector pump was replaced by the last owner and engine purrs like a kitten.

This truck starts and shifts like a new truck, it is a nice dependable truck.

The geared hubs, halfshalfts and differentials are in good shape, but there is some leaks (geared hub and halfshaft)

The frame is clean and solid.

This truck has a 2" suspension lift installed, so you can install larger tires for off-roading.

The legal stuff…..

Many people in the Hummer community know me and I would not sell this truck if it was not as I represent it to be.  I have been told I tell too much when I sell a truck, but prefer honesty when I am selling a vehicle.

Here is everything I know wrong with the truck.

-          A/C doesn’t work

-          Cracks in the drivers side windshield

-          Leaky geared hubs (like most trucks)

-          Leaky halfshaft

-          I have a clear title for the truck, but I don’t have a title for the trailer.

-          The rust on the rocker panel is only surface rust.

-          The off-road lights on the truck are not hooked up.

-          The battery and fuel gauges only work when they want to.

-          The power door locks do not work. (with plastic windows, they are kind of useless for security)

Terms of Sale

Vehicle is sold as is and has no warranty.  A $100 non refundable deposit is required via PayPal or cashier's check within 48 hours of listing close. (I only want to cover the relisting fee if a non-paying buyer wins)   I will expect the balance of the payment within 7 days by cashier's check, wire transfer or cash. The vehicle title is clear and in my possession so we can close the transaction as soon as the funds are transferred. Buyer is responsible for any and all shipping charges and arrangements.

Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions.  You can email me at   m998loki@aol.com

Thanks for looking,

Rick

Humvee maker AM General reportedly for sale, with interest from FCA, GM

Wed, Oct 3 2018

WASHINGTON — AM General has put itself up for sale and has hired investment bank Macquarie Group Ltd to seek potential bidders in a deal that could value the builder of Humvee military vehicles at more than $2 billion, people familiar with the matter said this week. Potential bidders include competitors in the military ground vehicle market, such as General Dynamics, Oshkosh Corp and BAE Systems, according to two people familiar with the matter. Automakers like Fiat Chrysler and General Motors may also be potential buyers. GM licensed Hummer from AM General in 1998 to build civilian SUVs. None of the companies would comment or reply to a request for comment. The South Bend, Indiana-based AM General is currently owned by private equity firms. A possible sale of AM General follows a rash of deals over the past 18 months among defense contractors. But relatively fewer makers of defense equipment have gone on the auction block. Last year, United Technologies acquired Rockwell Collins for $30 billion, and in March, TransDigm Group continued its acquisition spree with a $525 million deal for Extant Components Group. AM General could fetch about 10 times its annual earnings of $160 million, one of the people said. The company's favorable tax treatment because of its current status as an limited liability corporation, would allow a buyer to reduce the company's taxable earnings for 15 years. That coupled with recent contract awards could push the ultimate value of the company to over $2 billion in a sale. The sale, should it happen, comes as the U.S. Army is gearing up for a broad effort to modernize its forces, including seeking prototypes of its Next-Generation Combat Vehicle in fiscal year 2022. Last month, AM General was awarded an Army contract for as many as 2,800 new M997A3 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) ambulances. The contract could be worth as much as $800 million if all options were exercised, AM General said at the time. Last year, the Pentagon awarded AM General a $550 million contract to deliver HMMWVs for use as protected weapons carriers, cargo transporters and ambulances to Afghanistan, Iraq, Ukraine, Jordan, Slovenia, Bahrain, Columbia, Bosnia and Kenya as a part of a larger Foreign Military Sales agreement. The sale of AM General offers an opportunity to purchase a prime contractor that delivers a finished product to the Pentagon, and not just an add-on system or service.

Humvee reborn on the battlefield... with a chimney?!

Fri, 09 Dec 2011

The military's High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), better known to most of us as the Humvee, has already served a long and distinguished career in the battlefield, and there have been a number of replacements waiting in the wings to take over where the HMMWV left off. Or, should we say, leaves off... assuming that ever happens.
It seems that the Humvee is set to get a new lease on life as military budget constraints are forcing the government to reconsider its replacement. But there are still some pesky safety issues to work out before American soldiers will feel comfortable inside the confines of the off-road box on wheels.
As you're likely aware, improvised explosive devices are an ever-increasing threat to the lives of American troops serving overseas. The Humvee, which traces its design all the way back to the year 1984 when it first saw duty as a replacement for the long-running series of military Jeeps, has seen a number of incarnations over the years that added armor and improved safety, but the latest version may feature something hitherto unseen: a chimney.
