1993 Hummer H1 2 Door Pickup Am General 36k Miles Nice! 6.2 Diesel 4x4 Hmmwv on 2040-cars
Salem, Oregon, United States
1993 AM General Hummer H1.
The rare 2 door pickup version. This is a cool and unique truck in very nice condition. It runs great and stops great. All equipment is functional. It is fitted with a deep water intake and exhaust, and the 24-bolt military wheels with run-flat inserts. It's a pretty basic truck with crank windows, but it does have air-conditioning and a sliding rear window. It is also fitted with the factory accessory glove-box & cup holders (woohoo!), and the under hood work light. Also has a brush guard and receiver hitch. I have had the truck for about 4 years and have had a great time with it, but I rarely drive it so it is time to pass it along to someone else. I bought it in 2010 and have put about 2,000 miles a year on it. Just before I bought it, the previous owner installed a Jasper engine in it at a cost of well over $10K (see receipts). This engine has under 10K miles on it. The only "off-road" use I have had for it was a couple trips to the beach. It has lived a plush 4 years with me, always garaged. It is a very nice truck for being 20 years old, but not perfect. The passenger seat has a rip in the back seen through the rear window (see pics), the paint has some nicks and scratches, the inside of the bed has been well used, and every year I have owned it I have had to service the A/C. This year is no different, it isn't blowing as cold as it should but I will leave that for the new owner. I have some receipts for this truck dating back to 1994 where the A/C was serviced under warranty, so A/C issues might be a common problem with these. All gauges and lights function. Top speed might be around 75 or so. A good cruising speed is 60-65. I wouldn't hesitate to get in it and drive it anywhere. Keep in mind it is a 20 year old truck, but for its age it is in quite nice condition. It has nicks and scratches, especially in the bed. It's 12 volt. Let me know if you have any specific questions about it. It is noisy, loud and cramped. Your wife will hate it. It has a winch. Also included are an extra set of wheels and tires that are in good shape with a lot of tread. This truck gets a ton of attention anywhere you take it. I have a clear Oregon title in my name. Truck is currently registered, insured and in use. Pay with cash, or with a check written on a local bank that has a branch in Salem, Oregon. Buyer is responsible for all shipping. Truck is located in Keizer, Oregon 97303 (just north of Salem). It is available for inspection most any time. Feel free to contact me to take a look at it. |

GMC Hummer EV hits Neiman Marcus Christmas catalog for twice the price
Fri, Oct 29 2021This winter season, Nieman Marcus is getting into the true meaning of Christmas by offering a bunch of seriously expensive stuff in its annual holiday catalog. There's usually at least one automotive offering, and this year it's a 2022 GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 for an eye-watering $285,000. That's $172,405 more than the regular Edition 1 crab-walker, which is priced by GMC at $112,595. And what does one get for more than 2.5 times the cost of the most expensive electric Hummer? Well, hold your 1,000 horses, because this isn't just any Hummer EV Edition 1. No, it's a one-off Barrett-Jackson Hummer EV Edition 1. The interior of this Barrett-Jackson edition Hummer has been "curated" by Craig Jackson himself. And by curated, they mean it has a bunch of red trim everywhere and is garnished with a Neiman Marcus logo. Aside from that, there is nothing appreciably different about it. No performance upgrades, no special paint job. You do get an electric charging station at home, though, which might be the most useful addition to this whole enterprise. If that's not worth the price of an entire 1.5 extra Hummers to you, there's more. You get two VIP passes for the opening gala of the Barrett-Jackson auctions in exotic Scottsdale, Ariz. During the auction, you'll get access for two to Carolyn and Craig Jackson's personal skybox from where you can watch 1,500 cars trade hands. But don't get too comfy, because at some point you'll be invited on stage to receive your Hummer EV in front of a gaggle of inebriated fishing boat dealership owners. Oh, and you'll also get to bang the little auction hammer. You can pair the Hummer with other gifts in Nieman Marcus' "fantasy" catalog, like a $6.1 million dollar diamond ring. However, if you go with the $395,000 Great Gatsby-style roaring '20s party, make sure it doesn't end with the 9,000-pound Hummer Daisy Buchanan-ing any bystanders. Texas sues GM, saying it tricked customers into sharing driving data sold to insurers
Wed, Aug 14 2024Texas filed a lawsuit Tuesday against GM over years of alleged abuse of customers' data and trust. New car owners were presented with a "confusing and highly misleading" process that was implied to be for their safety, but "was no more than a deceptively designed sales flow" that surrendered their data for GM to sell. The suit contends that at no point was selling driving data ever even suggested as a possibility, putting GM in violation of the state's consumer protection laws. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is seeking a jury trial and at least $10,000 per offense (every GM car sold in the state since 2015) and a hefty add-on of $250,000 in cases where the victim was over 65. Texas seems to be flying high after a recent $1.4 billion settlement from Meta over other privacy concerns. This may well be a way to solve any pending budgetary issues in the Lone Star State.
