Model Overview
The S2000 is Honda's small, two-seat roadster sports car for 2008. A 237-horsepower, 2.2L four-cylinder VTEC engine powers the S2000, along with a six-speed manual transmission. With rear-wheel drive, the S2000 has an ideal 50/50 weight distribution, along with front and rear double-wishbone suspension, electric power steering, and a torque-sensing, limited-slip rear differential for crisp, capable handling on curvy, challenging roads. With a curb weight below 3,000 pounds, the S2000 squeezes surprisingly fast acceleration from its VTEC four-cylinder engine; it's been widely tested as accelerating to 60 mph in less than six seconds. The S2000 now comes in two models--a standard model, and the racetrack-oriented CR. The standard S2000 includes a power-operated soft top that quickly opens or closes. Honda's VSA electronic stability control is standard on the S2000, along with anti-lock brakes and brake assist. The standard S2000 come well equipped, with features including air conditioning, full power accessories, keyless entry, cruise control, and leather upholstery. The CR model incorporates a number of weight-saving measures and expanded high-performance equipment. The CR includes more aggressive suspension settings, a more rigid body, and aerodynamic spoilers that reduce high-speed lift. It also gets a quicker steering ratio, more aggressive tires with a larger rear size, a sport-tuned muffler, and larger stabilizer bars. Appearance-wise, it includes a spherical aluminum shift knob, sport seats with yellow stitching and synthetic suede bolsters, and a "peak power" indicator in the instrument panel. The model has a removable aluminum hard top instead of the convertible soft top, and air conditioning and a sound system are optional. The overall weight savings for the model is 51 pounds, with the hard top in place.

I will have as much pictures as I can possibly post to help give buyer the best description of the car  I will also have a copy of the clean car fax provided to me from the dealer I purchased it from a few months ago.  Feel free to ask any questions or make any offers.  Motivated to sell.  I'm a huge car enthusiast so I do my best to keep the car in the best condition possible.  Letting this go because I have my eye on a new car that I'm finally able to get my hands on.

Honda adds 4.5 million vehicles to Takata recall, none in North America

Thu, Jul 9 2015

The already massive Takata airbag inflator recall is getting 4.5-million units larger across the world. Honda is issuing an expansion to its safety campaign in many foreign markets. Of those newly affected cars, about 1.63 million of them are in Japan. None of these models are in North America. According to Reuters, Honda decided on this recall expansion after analyzing 1,000 inflators from vehicles not previously covered by its campaigns. The company found that the density of the gas-producing chemicals varied in them, which could cause a safety problem in the future. The models affected include foreign versions of the Fit and CR-V with production dates between 2007 and 2011, the Associated Press reports. Research suggests that Takata's inflators can be affected by exposure to moisture. This can cause the propellant to ignite too quickly and the component to shoot metal shrapnel when the airbag deploys. The issue has been linked to eight deaths worldwide, and there was a recent report of the issue causing a vehicle fire in a Nissan in Japan. The global inflator recall has had serious affects on Honda's books, as well. The Japanese automaker recently had to revise earnings from last year to account for an extra $363 million in costs from the campaigns and has been dealing with lawsuits over the issue. To improve quality, the company decided not to set sales goals through at least 2017. Honda last expanded the recall in Japan in late May to cover another 340,000 vehicles. It has also been searching for Takata's inflators in junkyards in the US. Related Video:

Honda slaps Legend name on JDM Acura RLX

Mon, 10 Nov 2014

It's been eighteen years since we last saw the Legend nameplate in Acura showrooms here in the US, but in Japan it's still very much alive as Honda's flagship sedan. And now the Japanese automaker has revealed the latest generation.
Set to go on sale across Japan on January 22 - 30 years since the nameplate was introduced - the new Honda Legend is essentially the same model we already know in the States as the new Acura RLX. Only by "essentially," we mean exactly. It is the RLX, only with Honda badges instead of Acura ones. The manufacturer hasn't even changed the grille or the wheels.
Although the RLX is being offered Stateside in two forms, the new JDM Honda Legend will only come in one form, equivalent to our Sport Hybrid, with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive and a hybrid powertrain pairing a 3.5-liter V6 to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission with integrated electric motor. For the privilege of owning the most luxurious car Honda makes, Japanese customers will have to pony up ¥6,800,000 - which about adds up to $59,950 we'd pay for an RLX Sport Hybrid.

How to charge up your BMW i3 with a Honda

Sat, Sep 13 2014

Behold a cheaper version of BMW's range extender for its i3 plug-in. And it's brought to you by ... Honda? Sort of, if you take the approach that Gadget Review took when it looked for an alternative to ponying up the $4,000 or so for the gas-powered i3 range extender that comes from the factory. What was procured was a Honda portable generator for Home Depot for the experiment, which involved gassing the generator up in a parking lot, plugging in the i3 and going out for a cup of coffee. The result was that, after about a half-hour of charging, the i3 picked up about four miles of driving range. Not exactly revolutionary but it least a bit instructive. And given that Honda generators start at about $800, the idea, while clunky, is potentially cash-saving. Gadget Review briefly took the experiment one-step further by trying to run the generator inside the back of the car and plugging in, complete with a rigged-up ventilation system, but the host thought better of it once he realized that there'd be suffocation involved. Why this was never tried on the Nissan Leaf, we'll never know. Check out Gadget Review's five-minute video below.
