Up for sale is my 2005 Honda S2000. This vehicle is in excellent physical, mechanical, and driving condition. Always garage stored and never driven in winter.
The vehicle is located in a western suburb of Chicago, exact zip code is 60504. This auction will be local pickup only, or you can arrange for pickup with your own shipping company. If you would like me to pick you up at one of Chicago's airports, that could also be arranged.
THIS IS A SOLID CAR. This is my second S2000, and certainly won't be my last. It's the best driver's car out there for the money, and is in excellent shape for many more years to come.
EXTERIOR:
The exterior is Silverstone Metallic. The paint is in great shape, with the exception of some small knicks in the rear bumper and some road chips on the front bumper.
Car is completely free of door dings
EXTERIOR MODIFICATIONS:
It is fitted with the option OEM Honda front spoiler, which is a factory option for the car.
The wheels are from a 2006 Honda S2000. In my opinion they look better than the 2005 tires. The tires are continental extreme contact DW tires with barely 5,000 miles on them.
INTERIOR
Leather is in great shape, everything works as it should. There are a couple very small scratches (barely noticeable) on the back windscreen.
MECHANICAL
Car drives flawlessly, engine sounds as good as the day it was built, no gear grinds, and rear differential makes no noise.
The car has the following mechanical modifications-
-K&N FIPK Intake system (Sounds Amazing) - Installed at 25,000 miles
-H&R Sport lowering springs - Installed at 20,000 miles
-Koni Yellow adjustable shocks - Installed at 20,000 miles
-Competition Stage 2 clutch - Installed at 26,000 miles
NOTE: Stock clutch and stock springs/shocks will be included with the sale. Stock clutch is still in excellent condition. I swapped out the clutch because I preferred a firmer feel, but you are able to swap back to stock if you would like to.
If you have any other questions, please let me know

Honda boss says Chinese drivers don't want green cars
Wed, 24 Apr 2013According to The Wall Street Journal, Honda CEO Takanobu Ito believes that China's nascent car-buying demographic isn't all that interested in hybrid cars - at least not yet. The emissions story doesn't resonate with them, and certainly not for the higher purchase premium such models usually carry. What they really want, Ito believes, is reliable, affordable cars that fit their needs. When it comes to Honda sales, the numbers would appear to jibe with his thoughts: Honda sold 598,577 vehicles in China last year through its two joint ventures, yet just 542 of them were hybrids - not even a tenth of a percent. However, Toyota sold 840,500 cars in China last year, and two percent of that total, 17,300 units, were hybrids, which is closer to the still-piddling three-percent ratio of sales that Toyota posted in the US last year.
Honda offers the Insight, Fit Hybrid and CR-Z in China and plans to make components for its Integrated Motor Assist hybrid system there from next year, the hope being it will reduce the cost of hybrid cars for local buyers. That was one part of the plan Honda laid out last year to popularize its IMA system in China. Other initiatives include the introduction of a new hybrid system for mid-sized and large vehicles and a plug-in hybrid. Among the four new vehicles Honda showed during this weekend's press day for the Shanghai Motor Show (including the Concept M minivan pictured above) there was not a single hybrid among them.
Honda planning sub-NSX S2000 successor
Tue, 13 May 2014Nine years separated the arrival of the original Acura NSX and the Honda S2000. By that time, the NSX was closer to the end of its fifteen-year production cycle than it was to its beginning. The latest word has it that not only is Honda planning a successor to the S2000, but it's not about to wait that long after the new NSX arrives before it's rolled out.
While the S2000 was a front-mid-engined roadster, its successor will, according to the latest from Auto Express (which we are taking with a grain of salt), be a mid-engined coupe - closer, in other words, to the NSX than the S2000. Power would come from a more potent version of the 2.0-liter turbo four developed for the upcoming new Civic Type R, possibly as part of a hybrid system derived from Honda's upcoming Formula One powertain to develop over 400 horsepower.
Whether the new sports car would revive the S2000 nameplate, and whether it would wear the Honda or Acura badge in the United States, remain to be seen. As does its potential production site: while the previous S2000 was built at the same Takanezawa plant in Tochigi as the original NSX, the new NSX will be built at the new Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio. The new S660 roadster, meanwhile, is set to be assembled at the same Yachiyo plant in Yokkaichi as the original Honda Beat.
Japan's government gives hydrogen vehicles a big boost
Tue, Jun 3 2014The Japanese government is really paving the way for hydrogen fuel cell technology on its roads. Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry is changing regulations on fuel tanks to make hydrogen cars more appealing to drivers, which should help put the country ahead of others in the race to develop a viable H2 fleet. Japan is raising the allowed pressure of hydrogen tanks from 700 atmospheres to 875, which has the effect of increasing driving range by 20 percent. This move puts the country in line with others with high-pressure fueling regulations. Japan is also in talks with the United Nations and the European Union to streamline inspection rules to make it easier to export Japan's fuel-cell vehicles. Toyota premiered its hydrogen-powered FCV Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show last year and plans to release a production version as early as next year. Honda also plans to build its own fuel-cell cars for 2015, and it debuted its FCEV Concept at last year's Los Angeles Auto Show. Nissan is sending mixed messages on hydrogen, both questioning the availability of a refueling infrastructure and working on developing the vehicles. In Japan, a relatively small country, increasing the range of fuel-cell vehicles makes creating a usable infrastructure a bit less daunting. Will hydrogen-fueled electric cars see the same sort of success as Toyota's Prius hybrid or battery-powered EVs? Only time will tell, but we can keep our fingers crossed that it will, and that the popularity spills over beyond Asia.
