2000 HONDA S2000 WITH 2005 AP2 ENGINE

I could say my S2000 has never been raced but if click on the video below you would know that isn't the truth. You can determine from the video how well my S2000 runs and handles. I had just installed the AP2 motor and front adjustable sway bar which corrects the oversteering problem that all S2000's have.

As a brief summary I purchased the S2000 knowing that I wanted make it a duel purpose car, Autocross on the weekends and drive on the street for fun. The S2000 is not my daily driver and to be clear most of the time was spent Autocrossing with very little time on the street.

When I purchased the S2000 it was a little rough around the edges, the motor had 111808 miles on it the clutch had been replaced but other than that it needed a little help. My plan was to clean the S2000 up repair everything that needed repairing and set it up to run in SCCA B Stock Autocross. To the novice that means that it has to be almost stock with a few allowable tweaks. So let me begin by saying that the Honda now has 112019 miles but a totaled 2005 S2000 provided a motor with approximately 30488 miles on it. The new motor was installed at 111932 miles on the odometer so that means the AP2 engine now has 30565 miles. I can provide documentation to the winning bidder on everything that I that I just stated.

In addition to the AP2  motor I installed the following new parts:

2008 Honda S2000 CR Front and Rear Shocks and Springs and rear sway bar
Small Fortune Racing (Bill Gendron) Front Adjustable Sway Bar with with Ball Bearing Mounts
God Speed Racing Front Adjustable Upper Control Arms
Megan Racing Rear Adjustable Upper Control Arms
OEM Honda Clutch Kit (pressure plate, clutch disc, clutch release bearing and pilot bearing)
Megan Racing Motor Mounts (Engine and Transmission)
K&N Filter Charger Cold Air Intake (50 state legal)
Auto Meter Oil temp and Pressure gauges
Auto Meter Tach with Shift Light
Rebuilt Starter
New Brake Rotors with Hawk HP + Pads
Battery
Plus lots of other little items to numerous to mention

With regards to tires and wheels (I am including a set of wheels/tires for Autocrossing)  it now has:

WHEELS:: 2004-2005 Honda S2000 17" wheels; The fronts are 17 x 7 and the rears are 17 x 8.5 (I bought these new)
TIRES:  New Sumitomo HTR Z III ; Fronts 215x45x17 and the Rears are 245x40x17
RACING WHEELS: (4) 17 x 9 (purchased new) with Hankook 245x40x17 Ventus C71 Autocross tires

Maintenance was done at Miles 111808 and 111932 and included:

Replaced Transmission Fluid with Honda ATF
Replaced Differential Oil with Valvoline 75 - 90 Synthetic
Replaced Brake Fluid with Prestone Synthetic
Replaced Oil with Mobil 1 5 - 30
Replaced Filter with Stock Honda
Replaced Antifreeze with Honda Blue
Replace Spark Plugs with NKG 7746
Values were adjusted to Honda Spec
Aggressive street wheel alignment

EXTRA STUFF:

Included is a test pipe that can replace the catalytic when autocrossing. The test pipe adds approx 15 more HP by reducing the back pressure caused by the catalytic converter. Catalytic converter is now installed on vehicle.

I still have most of the stock stuff to include upper control arms and sway bars if you want them.

Over all condition:

in my estimate the overall condition of the Honda S2000 I have for sale is very good. The seats have no tears but normal wear, the carpet is in good condition, the paint does not have any blemishes and even close up looks good. The convertible top is in good condition but the plastic rear window is average. The rear window has been replaced but plastic scratches very easy next owner should replace with glass. I have an owners manual, spare tire and factory tools. Everything works to include the AC, the radio is non stock but works well and comes with a jack that will allow you to use your iPod or MP3 Player.

I have had the frame inspected several times (each time I changed the wheel alignment) and there are no signs of an accident.

Editors' Picks March 2021 | Ford Mustang Mach-E, Polestar 2, Land Rover Defender and more

Thu, Apr 8 2021

The month of March was unofficial minivan month here at Autoblog. We drove all of them but the Kia Carnival, but don’t worry, you wonÂ’t have to wait much longer to read that review. Among all the family-toting machines, we drove some more exciting vehicles including the Land Rover Defender and a pair of up-and-coming EVs. It was a month of excellent cars, meaning that this monthÂ’s litter of EditorsÂ’ Picks is stacked. In case you missed FebruaryÂ’s picks, hereÂ’s a quick refresher on whatÂ’s going on here. We rate all the new cars we drive with a 1-10 score. Cars that are exemplary or stand out in their respective segments get EditorsÂ’ Pick status. Those are the ones weÂ’d recommend to our friends, family and anybody whoÂ’s curious and asks the question. The list that youÂ’ll find below consists of every car we rated in March that earned the honor of being an EditorsÂ’ Pick. 2021 Ford Bronco Sport 2021 Ford Bronco Sport First Edition View 32 Photos Quick take: Ford's baby Bronco is an authentic foil to the big Bronco 2-Door and 4-Door. It brings rugged styling, better-than-average off-road capability and thoughtful utility features to a generic segment of cars. Score: 8 What it competes with: Jeep Compass, Jeep Cherokee, Mazda CX-30, Subaru Crosstrek, Kia Seltos, Chevrolet Trailblazer Pros: Stellar design, excellent off-road, clever interior details throughout Cons: Pricier than most, average transmission, underwhelming interior quality and ambiance in lowest trims From the editors: Road Test Editor Zac Palmer — “I genuinely enjoy driving this cute crossover. It feels like a mini truck on the road, and Ford admirably translated the design from its big Bronco over to this Escape-based crossover. News Editor Joel Stocksdale — "The Bronco Sport isn't perfect, the transmission could use some work, and it's a little bumpy, but it's a characterful little thing with loads of style, great visibility and space, and impressive capabilities on and off road in the powerful Badlands form." In-depth analysis: 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Review | Bronco for the masses   2021 Land Rover Defender 2021 Land Rover Defender 110 View 64 Photos Quick take: The Land Rover Defender provides everything you'd hope for in a modern Land Rover: superlative off-road capability, surprisingly plush on-road demeanor, abundant interior space and abundant character. The base four-cylinder is likely all you'll need and lower trim levels provide more than enough equipment.

Honda Civic Tourer reminds us why we love wagons

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

It was the early 1990s when the last Honda Civic Wagon graced our shores, looking more like a squat five-door hatchback with an extra dose of charm. Well, Honda debuted the newest Civic Wagon Tourer at the Frankfurt Motor Show today, but, as we reported last month, it's a European model that will go on sale there early next year. There's still no word of it coming to the US.
The Civic Tourer was designed by Honda's European studio, and its overall look comes across as more muscular, sporty and stylish than both the sedan and two-door coupe, with bulging fenders and revised windows. Adrian Killham, large project leader for the Civic Tourer, has commented on the styling, saying, "Recently launched cars have tended to follow a similar style. The Civic Tourer has a different balance and appeal." We appreciate the sentiment, and the Tourer's shape is a big reason why we like it.
But we also like the 22 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats up, which grows to a gargantuan 59 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. The big Civic will be powered by either a 1.8-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with i-VTEC or a 1.6-liter Earth Dreams i-DTEC diesel engine. Manual and automatic transmissions will be offered.

A look inside Honda’s “Safety For Everyone” research and development operation

Sat, Aug 24 2019

RAYMOND, Ohio—As part of its long-running “Safety for Everyone” campaign, Honda has established the audacious goal of what it calls a “zero-collision society.” But rather than making big claims about developing a fully-autonomous vehicle, which Honda hasnÂ’t done, the company is trying to chip away at the more than 37,000 vehicle-related fatalities that occurred in the U.S. in 2017 with a multi-pronged approach. Here in central Ohio, engineers are working with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment to boost active safety systems like its HondaSensing suite of safety technology with old fashioned passive systems like structural steel frames or new airbag designs that protect passengers in a crash. Honda provided members of the press with a rare tour inside its Honda R&D Americas headquarters this week. Honda officials say that increasingly, safety — and specifically, third-party ratings from the likes of the National Highway Safety Traffic Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety — figure into the top three factors consumers weigh when purchasing a vehicle. Honda and Acura have 10, 2019 models that have earned IIHSÂ’s Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ ratings, and all 15, 2019 model-year Honda and Acura vehicles that have undergone NHTSA crash testing have earned a 5-star overall rating. And Honda prides itself on its growing list of safety firsts, including the first upward-deploying front passenger airbag, in 1990 in the Acura Legend; first omni-directional crash-test facility, in 2000; and the first autonomous braking system, in the 2006 Acura RL. It hopes its new three-chamber airbag goes industry-wide and joins that list. “ItÂ’s part of our companyÂ’s culture,” said Art St. Cyr, business head unit and vice president of auto operations for American Honda Motor Co. “We have a philosophy at Honda that we want to be a company that society wants to exist. That means we have to protect our customers. ThatÂ’s part of the whole mantra of doing this.” Opened in 1984, the 1.6 million square-foot Honda R&D Americas facility, located in the countryside about 45 miles northwest of Columbus, employs around 1,600 people and is HondaÂ’s largest research-and-development facility outside of Japan. Its Advanced Safety Research facility opened in 2003.
