1994 Honda Prelude Si Coupe 2-door 2.3l on 2040-cars
Rockford, Illinois, United States
I have to AUCTION my semi-finished Lude project. I started with a pretty ratty 1992 si with a manual trans and a hideous flat black rattle can paint job. After stripping that car of its low mileage engine and trans I found this 1994 si body to do my swap. So here's what I've done: Converted a clean automatic body over to receive the five speed manual transmission and a very rare H23A3 engine. After testing and tuning the engine and transmission, I deleted the antilock brake system entirely. Replaced the ABS control module with a proportioning valve, (from a 1997 Accord wagon), removed the controller from the car and replaced the master cylinder with a larger bore from an Accord sedan. I then began to remove the interior trim, hood, fenders, bumper covers, and mirrors for preparation for paint. Repaired ALL rust, (which was minor) and repairing ALL dents and dings from over the years. The whole car has been painted and there's no rust on this body. The engine is STRONG! It has no leaks, all fluids have been changed. All the brakes have been replaced with new components or rebuilt better than new OEM equivalent. I replaced the timing belt, tensioner, idler, water pump, both drive belts, power steering pump, radiator, front tires, shifter bushings, and front door speakers. It is a street ready racer. The engine picture shows a shorty intake which has been replaced with true cold air intake. Don't miss this opportunity own a great car. I have been an automotive technician for 17 years and wouldn't sell a lemon. This Prelude has been modified so know what your buying. Any questions you may have can be directed to my home phone at 815-seven-1-3-seven-seven-seven-5. My name is Tony. I look forward to speaking with serious bidders on this car as I don't have to sell it, I could use the xtra cash to finance other projects I have in the works.

Acura NSX GT3 racecar bares all in raw carbon
Thu, Jul 7 2016Acura slowly and dramatically revealed the NSX over a period of years. There were previews, concepts, and lots of teases before Acura finally showed us the whole thing. It's a different story for the racecar. And today, the wraps come off the FIA GT3-spec NSX to show all of its bare-carbon glory. The NSX GT3 strips away more than just the paint from the standard road car. The racecar comes sans hybrid system, meaning all the power from the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 is sent solely to the rear wheels. Modifications to the body include a large rear wing, underbody diffuser, and bigger hood vents for engine cooling. While the hybrid system may be gone, the NSX GT3 uses the same block, heads, valvetrain, crankshaft, pistons, and dry sump lubrication system as the road car. Power is sent through a six-speed sequential gearbox instead of the road car's nine-speed. The NSX GT3 will be built alongside the street version in Ohio. Honda engineers in Japan and North America shared in the development. Final GT3 homologation will be completed by the company's Honda Performance Division in Santa Clarita, CA. Related video:
Analysts say Honda's growing woes in Europe not just the economy
Tue, 12 Feb 2013There is no denying that the European auto market is taking its lumps right now - just ask Peugeot - but Honda might be taking this downturn on the chin a little harder than some of the other Japanese automakers doing business on the continent. Automotive News Europe is reporting that things have gotten so bad for Honda that it will be cutting 800 workers from Swindon, England plant that builds the CR-V, Civic and Jazz (a.k.a. Fit). This will be the first time Honda has made such cuts in more than 20 years.
Despite an increase in output last year over 2011 (165,607 units compared to 97,459), the Swindon plant is still running well below its full capacity (250,000/year), and its 66 percent capacity is less than the expected breakeven point of industry analysts (75 to 80 percent). Unlike in the US, however, Honda's new CR-V and Civic aren't selling well, and the similarly sized Nissan Qashqai is outselling the CR-V at a rate of more than five to one. Slow CR-V sales are blamed on a relatively high price and the crossover's conservative styling. On the complete opposite side of the spectrum, the report notes that Nissan continues to experience growth at its UK operations, leading analysts to suggest that Honda can't blame the sour economy for much of its woes.
Honda Civic overtakes Toyota Corolla as America's best-selling compact
Mon, 04 Nov 2013The battle to claim October's best-selling compact sedan title has been won by the Honda Civic. The Japanese four-door sold 27,328 units, leaving the Toyota Corolla - September's title holder - in its wake with 23,637 units sold. In terms of year-to-date sales, the Civic sits at 280,899 units, with the Corolla trailing at 257,184 vehicles.
Sitting in third place, separated by a significant gap from the leaders, is the Chevrolet Cruze with 16,087 units sold. The Ford Focus earned fourth, with 15,108 units moved out of showrooms. (It is interesting to note that while the Civic and Corolla have both enjoyed double-digit sales increases year-over-year, the Cruze and Focus have seen significant decreases during the same period.)
Sales of the Hyundai Elantra hit 14,876 units, putting it in fifth place, with the Volkswagen Jetta earning sixth place with 11,710 units. Rounding out the ten top sellers were the Nissan Sentra (8,399 units), Mazda3 (7,647 units), Dodge Dart (5,617 units) and Subaru Impreza/WRX (4,923 units). The Kia Forte (4,706 units) and Volkswagen Golf (2,249 units), eleventh and twelfth respectively, have fallen behind.
