1983 Honda Prelude Base model with 58000 original miles (not a typo, that's Fifty Eight Thousand)
I got this from my bosses mom who is now in her 80's and was the 2nd owner. She was driving it when it began to overheat and took it to a repair shop who diagnosed a leaky head gasket. Not liking the price he quoted to fix the problem, she drove it home, parked it in her driveway and bought another car.
It languished uncovered in the Texas sun there for 7 years till I got it a year ago, so she has s serious case of sunburn, but the metal is solid with no rust through and no cracked glass. The motor was still turning over and trying to fire, but at some point the son & grandson had removed the valve cover to look inside and didn't bolt it back down, so condensation caused some rust spots on the camshaft, so it definitely needed a new head at that point.
I had already purchased a new water pump, timing belt, and the factory Shop and Electrical manuals and while shopping for a head, ran across a good deal on a remanufactured crate motor, so I got that as well.
During the course of all this, I was financially recovering from a divorce and my bank told me I needed to finance another car to get my credit back up to speed in order to buy a house, so I did just that, eliminating the need for a 2nd car. I've made steady payments for a year now, my credit is back to where it was, and now find myself finally buying a place of my own and really don't want to take it with me, but the new crib has plenty of work space if I have to.
You get the car/ both motors/ all the parts and manuals/ a clear Texas title and I can hold it here till the end of September if need be for you to come and get it. (But I'd prefer to have it gone asap)
You will need some mechanical aptitude to re-assemble it/ one trim ring and center cap and a couple pieces of door trim. That's the only items missing. All the other items shown missing in the photos are in the trunk.
My plan was to throw a 10 footer paint job, white from the door trim up and have a reliable, 30 mpg driver that should last another 200K miles for well under 2 Grand.
Here's the deal: The car is listed locally for a bit more money obo, the opening bid with no reserve is a bit less than what I have in it at this point. If someone shows up with cash in hand, and there are no bids, I reserve the right to end the auction early and sell the car. If a bid is placed, I will end the local listing and let the auction run it's course. Terms are cash only, no checks or Paypal because the mortgage co told be not to make any big deposits or purchases while the finance part is underway.
I've been selling on eBay for years, my feedback speaks for itself. Feel free to ask questions. I work an evening shift, so it may be the following day before I get back to you, but I will respond to all.
Thanks for looking and Happy Labor Day to all!

Total auto recalls already on record pace in 2014
Tue, 08 Apr 2014If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild.
Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM.
Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.
Acura NSX GT3 to make public debut this week at Mid-Ohio
Wed, Jul 27 2016The new Acura NSX had a very long and very public gestation period. The car went through a number of redesigns and revisions, all while enthusiasts watched and waited. With the production version just now ramping up for customer deliveries, Acura revealed that it was working on a race car for FIA GT3 homologation. While the car was shown in New York, no one outside of Honda has seen it testing on track. This week, the NSX GT3 will make its public testing debut at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course ahead of the Pirelli World Challenge and IndyCar races. View 13 Photos While the car will be on track during testing and practice sessions, it won't actually be competing with the rest of the field. The car is still in the testing phase and won't be fully FIA approved until at least September. Acura is confident that the car will make its racing debut in 2017. The company also made it clear that this is not the final version of the car and that things like aero and engine tuning are still being worked out. Until now, the NSX GT3 has only tested at private events in Europe, Japan and the US. This week, the NSX GT3 will be piloted by Dutch racing driver Peter Kox. Kox drives for RealTime Racing, a team that currently campaigns an Acura TLX GT. This week's car will be the primary tester, though if something goes sideways there are multiple backup cars. The NSX GT3 differs in a number of ways from the road car, most notably its lack of hybrid all-wheel drive system. The NSX GT3 uses the same twin-turbocharged V6 as the road car, but sends all the power through the rear wheels. It also uses the same space frame as the road car. While the road going version receives final assembly in Honda's Ohio factory, final touches to the GT3 car are done elsewhere. Although the car will only be testing on Thursday and Friday, it will be on display all weekend in the paddock. For more info on this weekend's Mid-Ohio race, check out the Pirelli World Challenge page here. Related Video: Motorsports Acura Honda honda nsx acura nsx gt3
Watch these guys creatively cover No Diggity in a Honda Civic
Mon, 17 Feb 2014People do some weird things in their cars. Take these two gentlemen and their Honda Civic. Rather than tune in to satellite radio or hook up an iPod, they've opted to create their own music.
YouTube musician Flula (in the passenger seat) and his friend Chester perform a cover of Blackstreet's Number-One Billboard hit, "No Diggity," complete with the requisite auto tuning, all while on the go. Is it weird that we almost prefer this wacky version to the original '90s R&B classic? Take a look - and a listen - by scrolling below, and note that we've included the original song featuring Dr. Dre... you know, for comparative purposes.
