I bought this Odyssey over two years ago and had accident damage repaired at that time...I also had to replace the engine with a brand new one from our local Honda Dealer at a cost of over $5,000...That was my cost because I used to work there-Retail would have been over $7,500...My wife has been driving it since then and has put 16,000 trouble free miles on it...I just had it gone through again by the Honda dealer less than 2,000 miles ago...Had new front brakes and rotors turned...Serviced...Everything works on it and it runs and drives like a new van...It is the EX-L model and it is pretty much loaded with moonroof, ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM!! with factory fold down tv and dvd player, heated leather seats, tilt/cruise, power everything, power sliding doors...I have a young son and wanted to keep this van in tip-top mechanical condition...Cosmetically it has chips and scratches...If your looking for a new one then please buy new...If your looking for a great van that you could drive cross-country in and don't mind chips and scratches this could be the one for you...The ONLY reason I'm selling it is because my wife has wanted a Ford Flex for a while and I came across a great buy on a newer one so I surprised her...I had all of the work on this van done professionally...When I got it I had the front right fender replaced and the hood and front bumper repainted...It still retains the original drivers front fender...Apparently the body shop did the repairs on this unit and it was not totalled-They found out near completion that the block had a minor crack and subsequently totalled it...I also had the drivers air bag replaced at the local Honda dealership...You will be buying it with a MO salvage certificate...You may need to have it inspected in your state before licensing-check BEFORE you buy...If your in MO you definitely will have to get an inspection by the MO highway patrol...I have priced it accordingly-just don't have the time or interest in messing with it...I am a licensed dealer and deal in rv's so we have operated on our d-tag for the last two years...Again-great van and everything works as it should...Fly in and drive it home!...SERIOUS buyers with questions can contact me at 816-604-8094...Reserve the right to end the listing at anytime as it is advertised elswhere and for sale locally...Thanks

Honda and Acura render their future visions for Shanghai
Mon, 08 Apr 2013With the Shanghai Motor Show coming up later this month, Honda has released a couple of teaser sketches for two concept vehicles that will be making global debuts. Aside from the renderings, there is no information about either the Honda or Acura concept vehicles, but we can tell that both are some sort of utility vehicle, be they of crossover or people-mover variety.
The text for both images indicates that both concepts show future products that will be launched in China, but there is no mention as to what other markets the automaker has planned for these vehicles. In addition to these two concepts, the NSX Concept and 2014 RLX from Acura will make their Chinese debuts, and Honda says it "will display models substantially identical to the mass-production version of the Concept C and Concept S." The Concept C is will be a "middle-class" sedan built for China, and the Concept S, an MPV that will primarily serve China as well.
Honda speeds down memory lane with its first F1 car
Fri, 22 Nov 2013Though most Formula One teams are based in the UK, they hail from places all around the world. There are teams from Russia, India and Malaysia, but in the 1960s, the idea of an F1 team coming from as far away as Japan was unthinkable in what was a predominantly European racing series. That's just the notion that Honda aimed to upset when it entered the car you see here in the 1964 Formula One World Championship.
With a 1.5-liter V12 dispensing 220 horsepower through a six-speed manual (its shifter necessitating the steering wheel mounted left-of-center), the 1964 Honda RA271 was built around an aluminum monocoque in a package that looks like a Formula Vee car you could erect in your garage, but it state-of-the-art when it was built. Speaking of which, Honda only built one, and today it's part of the Honda Collection Hall at Motegi, but the priceless racer made the trip down to Japan's capital so we could check it out at the Tokyo Motor Show. Awfully nice of Honda, we'd say. Check it out in our gallery of live shots from the show floor above.
Asian automakers still reluctant to use more aluminum
Tue, Jun 24 2014There's a logical progression of technology in the auto industry. We've seen it with things like carbon-ceramic brakes, which use to be the sole domain of six-figure sports cars, where they often cost as much as an entry level Toyota Corolla. Now, you can get them on a BMW M3 (they're still pricey, at $8,150). Who knows, maybe in the next four a five years, they'll be available on something like a muscle car or hot hatchback. Aluminum has had a similar progression, although it's further along, moving from the realm of Audi and Jaguar luxury sedans to Ford's most important product, the F-150. With the stuff set to arrive in such a big way on the market, we should logically expect an all-aluminum Toyota Camry or Honda Accord soon, right? Um, wrong. Reuters has a great report on what's keeping Asian manufacturers away from aluminum, and it demonstrates yet another stark philosophical difference between automakers in the east and those in the west. Of course, there's a pricing argument at play. But it's more than just the cost of aluminum sheet (shown above) versus steel. Manufacturing an aluminum car requires extensive retooling of existing factories, not to mention new relationships with suppliers and other logistical and financial nightmares. Factor that in with what Reuters calls Asian automaker's preference towards "evolutionary upgrades," and the case for an all-aluminum Accord is a difficult one. Instead, manufacturers in the east are focusing on developing even stronger steel as a means of trimming fat, although analysts question how long that practice can continue. Jeff Wang, the automotive sales director for aluminum supplier Novelis, predicts that we'll see a bump in aluminum usage from Japanese and Korean brands in the next two to three years, and that it will be driven by an influx of aluminum-based vehicles from western automakers into China. Only time will tell if he's proven right. News Source: ReutersImage Credit: Sean Gallup / Getty Images Plants/Manufacturing Honda Hyundai Mazda Nissan Toyota Technology aluminum
