After 12 years of extremely faithful service it is time to sell the old family mule (Odyssey). The kids have grown up and moved on to college leaving us an empty nest. We purchased the mule back in March of 2001 keeping her always in the garage and a non smoking environment. I have all of her service records showing regular oil changes, see the pictures of the dip stick and oil filler hole (very clean). The air conditioning works great with both front and rear controls for both the heat and A/C (see picture).
She has never been in an accident or repainted. Over the years we have had the occasional shopping cart and garage door mishaps, so she has had some touch up on the bumpers (see the pictures). Overall the beast is in very good shape for having 140,000 miles on her.
Take a look at all the Honda Odysseys on eBay and sort by the mileage field (Click Here). You will find Honda vans out there with 240,000+ miles. Honda is just a great reliable form of transportation.
In Illinois when you buy a car from a private party (not a dealer) you avert all the sales tax which in this case can add up to an additional $300 - $400 on to the purchase price depending on the county you live in.
On May-27-13 at 15:11:29 PDT, seller added the following information:
I have added 2 pictures, one picture of a missing cap for the luggage rack and the second picture is a close up of the rear tailgate. The tailgate would hit the garage door in the open position. There also is a stone chip in the windshield that is barely noticeable since we had it repaired by a glass company. I did try to get a picture of it but because of the size it would not show up for the camera.

Honda slaps Legend name on JDM Acura RLX
Mon, 10 Nov 2014It's been eighteen years since we last saw the Legend nameplate in Acura showrooms here in the US, but in Japan it's still very much alive as Honda's flagship sedan. And now the Japanese automaker has revealed the latest generation.
Set to go on sale across Japan on January 22 - 30 years since the nameplate was introduced - the new Honda Legend is essentially the same model we already know in the States as the new Acura RLX. Only by "essentially," we mean exactly. It is the RLX, only with Honda badges instead of Acura ones. The manufacturer hasn't even changed the grille or the wheels.
Although the RLX is being offered Stateside in two forms, the new JDM Honda Legend will only come in one form, equivalent to our Sport Hybrid, with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive and a hybrid powertrain pairing a 3.5-liter V6 to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission with integrated electric motor. For the privilege of owning the most luxurious car Honda makes, Japanese customers will have to pony up ¥6,800,000 - which about adds up to $59,950 we'd pay for an RLX Sport Hybrid.
Experience the New York Auto Show by drone
Fri, Apr 10 2015The Autoblog team recently returned from wildly running around the Javits Center to cover all the news and debuts at the New York Auto Show. Sometimes, it's nice to take a more serene look at the exhibition floor, though, and the event's organizers are providing that exact opportunity by flying a drone through the hall. Combined with the down-tempo music, this clip feels like a form of automotive meditation. If you're going to miss the show in the Big Apple, the drone also provides a good overview at the exhibition floor, especially at the stands from Lexus, Buick, Dodge, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and BMW. Plus, it's a fun way to see some vehicles from a completely different angle than they ever appear on the road. Toyota, Mazda drop Takata as Mitsubishi, Subaru weigh options
Sat, Nov 7 2015It's not a very good time to be Takata right now. Fresh on the heels of longtime partner Honda ditching them, Toyota and Mazda have both come out and said they will not use the company's airbag inflators if they continue to rely on ammonium nitrate. Bloomberg reports that Subaru and Mitsubishi are also contemplating a divorce. "The inflator using ammonium nitrate produced by Takata will not be adopted by Toyota," President Akio Toyoda said during a briefing today. "What's most important above anything else is the safety and peace of mind of customers." Mazda echoed that position, simply saying it "will not use Takata airbag inflators which contain ammonium nitrate in our new cars." When you lose three huge OEM accounts in as many days, it's certainly going to have a deleterious effect on your fortunes. In Takata's case, that's meant a staggering 39-percent drop in their share price over the last three days. Yesterday alone, the company saw a 6.2-percent fall, Bloomberg reports. As the business publication reports, though, Takata isn't going down without a fight. The company is "considering some plans to survive," including a fundraising plan that will see it potentially offer up additional shares for sale. Still, at least one analyst doesn't see whatever company survives staying involved in the airbag inflator business. "I really don't see how they're going to be able to survive as an inflator manufacturer," Valient Market Research founder Scott Upham told Bloomberg. "When your major clients publicly come out and say that they're not going to use your products anymore, it makes this very difficult to sustain your business."
