2000 Honda Insight Base Hatchback 3-door 1.0l on 2040-cars
Clearfield, Utah, United States
Honda insight in AMAZING condition inside and out looks almost new. New factory floor mats, new cd player that changes colors, nice tinted windows. bought 1 year ago, the battery status has not changed, I get 49 mpg, i drive 20 miles every day on flat ground. I drive it 4-5 weeks, the IMA light comes on then I plug the balancer in overnight and its ready to go. Does NOT need new batteries yet, ready to go however it does need to be driven VERY light footed, the batteries are obviously worn down, the A.C. is really cold and works great except with the battery status, power's just not there, engine and transmission run PERFECT, everything works, this car is so nice, if not sold I will be keepeing it and still drive it as is because it works great for me without having to replace the batteries yet. Over the last year i have had a brake light and the engine light come on, never affected anything and went away as i drove, im sure it just had to do with the battery when it gets run down, only selling to get a 4 door. Again, drives great as is, but i watch my driving and drive light footed as mentioned by watching the assist light and not pressing to hard for too long, and letting off gas whenever possible. Its so awesome to have such a nice car that gets such great gas mpg. Ive gotten up to 64mpg of all freeway. I know Bumblebee batteries sales new ones for $2000 after the core credit and they claim they are better then factory ones in many ways, and come with a 3 year warranty, but again if you drive lightly which i do and I drive on flat ground on the freeway then I dont see the need to replace them, im not sure how often you would have to plug it in if you were mostly city driving or city with hills, because I have NOT HAD THE CHANCE to do any of that so it might do just fine, this has just been my work commuter car.

Honda getting in on the Daytona Prototype racing action
Fri, 14 Mar 2014Racing fans at Sebring are plenty used to seeing Honda powering into the winner's circle, the Japanese motor company having claimed class victories at the endurance race in Florida in 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013. Those were all in the LMP2 category, but with the Twelve Hours of Sebring now part of the combined United SportsCar Championship, Honda is branching out into another class: Daytona Prototypes.
The purpose-built racing machinery that were once part of the Grand-Am series are now racing alongside the LMP2 prototypes from the American Le Mans Series under the united championship. So far Ford and Chevy have signed on to power the Daytona Prototypes, and now Honda's joining their ranks as the only manufacturer to field entries in both categories of the championship's Prototype class.
The competition-spec 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 revealed last month is based on the same J35 engine that powers everything from the Honda Accord to the Acura RLX and MDX. Now it will power the Riley chassis fielded by Starworks Motorsports, competing alongside the pair of Honda Performance Development (HPD) ARX-03b chassis which Extreme Speed Motorsports will campaign under LMP2 regulations, giving Honda a two-pronged, three-car assault on the top class of the new American sports car racing series.
Honda recalling small number of Accord, CR-V models
Thu, Mar 12 2015This latest recall may not be a very big one, but it does strike us as an important one. Issued by Honda, the recall affects the 2014-15 Accord (specifically those equipped with the four-cylinder engine) and the 2015 CR-V, but only 137 of them. Those 137 vehicles, however, will need to have their short blocks replaced. What is a short block, you ask? Nope, it's not a chopped-down version of a big block: it's the engine block itself plus all its internal components, but short of any appendages that make it run. (That'd be a long block.) The problem, according to the manufacturer's statement below, stems from bolts – specifically the connecting rod bolt – that may have been improperly torqued during assembly. There's a system that's supposed to check that, but Honda reports that it "may not have identified improperly torqued bolts in a specific group of engines." Hence the recall. Owners of those few vehicles affected can expect to hear from the manufacturer to arrange bringing their vehicle into their local dealership to have the engine replaced, free of charge. Statement by American Honda Regarding Connecting Rod Bolt Recall: 2014-2015 Honda Accord 4-cylinder; 2015 Honda CR-V Mar 9, 2015 - TORRANCE, Calif. - 137 model-year 2014-15 Accord 4-cylinder and 2015 CR-V vehicles affected in the U.S. - Engine short block will be replaced in affected vehicles, free of charge - No related crashes or injuries have been reported Honda will voluntarily recall 137 model-year 2014-2015 Accord 4-cylinder and 2015 CR-V vehicles in the United States to replace the engine short block, free of charge. During engine assembly, an automated system that verifies engine connecting rod bolt torque may not have identified improperly torqued bolts in a specific group of engines. An improperly torqued connecting rod bolt could come loose, leading to potential engine damage and stalling, which could contribute to a crash. No crashes or injuries have been reported related to this issue, which was discovered through a warranty claim review process. Honda is announcing this recall to encourage all owners of affected vehicles to take them to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification of this recall from Honda. Mailed notification to customers will begin in late-March. In addition, owners of these vehicles can determine if their vehicles require repair by going to www.recalls.honda.com or by calling (800) 999-1009, and selecting option 4.
Next Honda Ridgeline to eschew weird visuals, go mainstream?
Wed, 08 Oct 2014Last year, Honda gave us the first furtive glance at the next-generation Ridgeline with a shadowy photo of it in profile (above), and it promised that the pickup would "come to market in less than two years." That would have put the truck on track for a 2015 debut, but the automaker hasn't said anything more officially about the new model since then.
A new report from USA Today might shed some new light on the mysterious model. It claims that the next Ridgeline has more conventional pickup styling than the original model in a bid to conquest some buyers. You can get that feeling from the sketch, which appears to showing something far more traditional than the unorthodox original Ridgeline, whose odd tapering bedsides terminated in a double-hinged tailgate.
USA Today goes on to claim that the new Ridgeline will go on sale around late 2015 or early 2016. That's a bit later than expected, but fits with an earlier rumor.
