2000 Citrus Honda Insight/ 88k Orig Miles/ Gorgeous/ Garage Kept/ Clean Carfax ! on 2040-cars
Gasport, New York, United States
If you want the lowest original mile, true survivor, citrus-colored 5-speed insight available in the country, read on! I have owned many, many First Gen Honda Insights over the last 6 years or so. I am not a dealer. I am an obsessed insight fanatic (private owner.) The citrus colored insights were only made in the first model year (2000.) The number produced was very low (estimates of 300 total.) A true collector car. The car is from Florida, and has only 88k original miles on it. The body is not flawless, but it is nice, as seen in my pictures! Every body panel has the correct VIN tag on it (both front fenders, hood, both doors, both quarter panels, rear hatch, front and back bumper covers.) So no panels have ever been replaced. The car has never been in any kind of major accident, or this would be appearent with replacement panels lacking the correct vin numbers. This is further evidenced by it's clean carfax report. The usual trim items that get sun baked are not (rear wing, steering wheel, headlights, exterior moldings, emblems, decals, etc, etc.) Interior-wise, again, the car is real nice. The seats are great and not worn through (in fact they show very little wear at all,) the steering wheel, dash, headliner, door panels, trunk carpeting, etc have no stains at all, and are all perfect. I totally steam cleaned the car's interior, as I do all my insights, but it hardly needed it.) All the rubber is perfect, (around the doors, rear hatch, hood, etc. It has the correct size 165/65/14 tires (Like brand new Michelin Green X, low rolling resistance tires, with 100% tread.) I just had these mounted and spun balanced, so you'll be good to go for the next 80k miles. The car runs, drives, and shifts very well. It does not leak or burn any fluids at all, and is a super smooth rider. I also put brand new brake rotors and ceramic pads on the car, so the brakes are brand new too. You shouldn't have to touch them for another 80-100k miles. I've wired the car for my digital grid charger (again, as I do all my insights,) and cycle the pack regularly (considering the car is stored in my heated garage and not being driven.) For those not in the know, grid charging the pack peaks and equalizes the cells within the pack. This is extremely good for the battery, and prolongs it's life and health greatly. To the buyer, I will offer a brand new grid charger for half the price I normally sell them for (my cost to build, basically.) To read more about my grid chargers, see my ebay item # 301002355166. The car has all the manuals, key and remote, too. Transmission-wise, it shifts perfectly with no synchro grind or bearing noise issues whatsoever. The clutch and slave cylinder are pefect too. I also just did the full oil and filter change with the correct Mobil1 0w-20 oil, and the transmission fluid change, as well. Accessory-wise, everything works exactly as it should; heater, blower fan, power windows and switches, power locks and switches, turn signals, every bulb inside and out, all the dash including the trip meter, horn, turn signals, stock Honda am/fm/cassette stereo, (rare 4 speaker option, with great sound,) rear trunk release actuator, rear trunk lock, hatch struts, wipers, trip meter, squirters, etc, etc. This car is THE nicest citrus you'll find for sale in the country. All underbody panels are in place and nice, too. All jack equipment and spare tire are in place and nice. I have the clean and clear transferrable title, with no liens, in my name. I have done a ton of work to this car to get it exactly where it should be, and as you see it now. I do all my own work (over 30 years of automotive schooling and experience,) and do not scrimp, always using correct factory Honda parts, right down to the last correct screw. NO surprises with this car! So, if you want the best citrus for your money, look no further. Can you buy an insight cheaper? Yup. Maybe you can even find a high mile citrus. But what you save in initial costs, you'll put back into the car fixing the stuff it needs, both mechanically and cosmetically! This is where the old saying, "You get what you pay for" holds quite true! Just look at the pics....Any questions; call me directly at 716-946-6070. Thanks for your time and consideration! Respectfully, Chris in Gasport, N.Y. (14067) PS: I also have 1 other first gen 2000 silver 5-speed Insight I'll be selling as well, if this one does not suit your exact wants. It is a true, documented 49k mile car from Massechusetts. Feel free to call! I build and offer other extremely useful mods for these 2000-06 first gen Honda Insights cars, as well. Some of which include: Clutch Interrupt Circuit (see ebay item # 290990607482.) Brake Regen Circuit (see ebay item # 291048200804.) Brand New OEM Honda Insight Citrus & Grey Seat Covers (see ebay item # 300932249369.) Stainless Steel Dead Pedal / Footrest) (see ebay item # 291039568254.) Honda Insight Spun Aluminum Moon Disc Set (see ebay item # 300951306290.) And soon to come; another round of Throttle Smoothing Circuits! Thanks again! Chris

Honda's new City hints in India at US-bound Fit sedan [w/videos]
Tue, 26 Nov 2013While car buyers on these shores may think of the Civic or Accord as the prototypical Honda sedan, in the Asia and Oceania regions, it all comes down to the City. Based on the Honda Fit, the City is a compact sedan that's currently sold in 55 countries around the world, and now Honda has revealed the newest version.
Standing essentially as a Fit sedan (much as the Vezel debuted as a Fit crossover), the new fourth-generation Honda City is as wide as the hatchback on which it's based, but stretches longer on a lengthened wheelbase and sits lower. Power comes from a 1.5-liter inline four in either gasoline or diesel form, mated to an unspecified transmission that we'd have to assume is either a manual or a CVT.
Styling looks familiarly Honda, and while it may be hard to tell from the few stock, detail and live reveal images the Japanese automaker has provided us with thus far, it appears slicker form than other compact hatchback-based sedans like the Ford Fiesta or Mazda2. Fortunately IndianAutosBlog has uploaded a couple of videos from the reveal, which we've included below along with the press release.
2013 Honda Fit Sport
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Revisiting The Runabout Of Record
The current Honda Fit has been around the block a few times. The subcompact hatch has soldiered on without significant revision since its first update for US customers in 2009, and while Honda is on the verge of launching a third generation, we thought we'd take the time to see how the runabout stacks up against the new wave of small, efficient and plucky five-doors now on the American market. Those include old standbys like the Nissan Versa and Toyota Yaris, as well as relative newcomers like the Chevrolet Sonic and Ford Fiesta.
Those machines may have all covered ground on the Fit, but Honda's wee machine holds a pleasant surprise for those buyers still willing to give the car the time of day. While the rest of the Japanese automaker's lineup has succumbed to dreaded model bloat, the Fit has remained true to the spirit of Honda that we remember from our vagabond youths. This may very well still be the closest genetic ancestor to the Civic models of old.
2013 Honda Accord Coupe V6 6MT
Fri, 21 Dec 2012One of the first cars I reviewed for Autoblog was - say it with me now - a 2010 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L V6 w/Navi 6MT, perhaps the rarest of all modern Accord models. I mean, think about it: Of all the different Accord variants on the road, how many are coupes? And how many of those have the larger V6 engine? And how many of those are fully loaded with leather, navigation and all the trimmings? And finally, how many of those have option sheets where the only box that isn't checked is the automatic transmission?
That has to be something like one percent of one percent, right?
So when Honda started rolling its all-new 2013 Accord into the test fleet, I was happy to hear that yet another Coupe EX-L V6 w/Navi 6MT model was available out of the Detroit pool. And while this really isn't the car that serves as the control for judging the entire Accord line, it's still one heck of a sweetheart.
