Hello there!
I have a 2006 Honda Element EX AWD with an automatic transmission. It currently has 94k miles on it and runs like a dream. My wife and I have owned it about 4 years and we are only selling it to get a less expensive vehicle. This vehicle is in excellent mechanical condition so I would rate it a 10/10 as far as functionality goes. There are a few cosmetic blemishes inside and out (scratches, dings etc) but all to be expected in a 7yr old car. Currently it is driven everyday and is a bit dirty in the pictures, but I do take good care of the paint job so I would give it a solid 8.5/10 cosmetically speaking.

I am SUPER particular about how my vehicles are maintained so if there was ever a pop, clunk or noise, I fixed it. For example, one tie rod end had a tiny bit of movement and was just starting to go bad so I replaced both sides and had it aligned right after. The radiator going bad was a total fluke. Apparently the factory AC fan was defective and it slid forward into the radiator rubbing against it ever so slightly. Eventually this caused a pinhole leak so I replaced them all with OE quality replacements. Currently, the front sway bar links started to make some noise so those are on order and will be installed before the new owner takes it.

I have some receipts for what I have done, most are just parts receipts though since I did most of it myself.
In the past 4 years I have personally completed the following work...
- Replaced all 4 struts and strut mounts
- Replaced rear brake pads
- Replaced rear brake rotors
- Replaced rear brake hoses
- Replaced rear brake calipers
- Replaced rear sway bar links
- Replaced rear sway bar bushings
- Replaced front tie rod ends (both outer)
- Replaced front sway bar links
- Replaced AC condenser fan, motor and shroud combo
- Replaced radiator
- Replaced battery (top of the line)
- Replaced serpentine belt (Goodyear Gatorback brand)
- Replaced spark plugs (Pulstar Iridiums)
- Changed rear differential fluid (replaced with OE Honda fluid)
- Changed coolant/antifreeze
- Oil changed regular with synthetic and quality filter, no junk!

Overall, this is a SUPER solid car and I am really only looking to sell it. We have a title in-hand and would only consider a trade if you had an older Acura MDX or Lexus RX300 and was willing to throw a significant amount of cash in as well. So unless you have EXACTLY that, please don't get a hold of me. I have no problem with you financing this and am open to you having it inspected, I am super honest and fair so feel free to call or text before 10pm. five 1 three- eight 8 five- five five 5 two

Honda fined $70 million for failing to report deaths, injuries

Thu, Jan 8 2015

The federal agency charged with keeping US motorists safe announced Thursday it has fined Honda $70 million for failing to report death and injury data in a timely manner. Honda failed to report 1,729 incidents involving death or injury over an 11-year period, according to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration officials. Federal law requires automakers to report deaths, injuries and certain warranty claims. Officials said Thursday that information could have been used to spot trends in automotive defects and potentially save lives. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx said it is possible the Department of Justice could conduct a criminal investigation into the failures, but it was not immediately known whether the Justice Department would pursue such charges. NHTSA officials still don't know much about the 1,729 incidents of death or injury that were missing from the Early Warning Reporting records, because in some cases, they still haven't been reported. Mark Rosekind, the agency's new administrator, said Honda is still in the process of sending investigators the missing information. "Our first task will be to review that, and determine actual deaths and injuries," he said. "That data is in the process of coming to us and being processed right now." The $70 million is the largest civil penalty levied against an automaker in history, officials said. It actually consists of two $35 million penalties, the maximum allowed by statute for a single TREAD Act violation. In this case, NHTSA broke the fine into separate violations, one for the missing deaths and injury information and one for the company's failure to report certain warranty-claim information. Honda reached an agreement with the federal government in late December, in which it accepted additional regulatory oversight and third-party audits that will ensure reporting is properly completed in the future. Toyota, Mazda drop Takata as Mitsubishi, Subaru weigh options

Sat, Nov 7 2015

It's not a very good time to be Takata right now. Fresh on the heels of longtime partner Honda ditching them, Toyota and Mazda have both come out and said they will not use the company's airbag inflators if they continue to rely on ammonium nitrate. Bloomberg reports that Subaru and Mitsubishi are also contemplating a divorce. "The inflator using ammonium nitrate produced by Takata will not be adopted by Toyota," President Akio Toyoda said during a briefing today. "What's most important above anything else is the safety and peace of mind of customers." Mazda echoed that position, simply saying it "will not use Takata airbag inflators which contain ammonium nitrate in our new cars." When you lose three huge OEM accounts in as many days, it's certainly going to have a deleterious effect on your fortunes. In Takata's case, that's meant a staggering 39-percent drop in their share price over the last three days. Yesterday alone, the company saw a 6.2-percent fall, Bloomberg reports. As the business publication reports, though, Takata isn't going down without a fight. The company is "considering some plans to survive," including a fundraising plan that will see it potentially offer up additional shares for sale. Still, at least one analyst doesn't see whatever company survives staying involved in the airbag inflator business. "I really don't see how they're going to be able to survive as an inflator manufacturer," Valient Market Research founder Scott Upham told Bloomberg. "When your major clients publicly come out and say that they're not going to use your products anymore, it makes this very difficult to sustain your business."
