2003 Honda Element Dx Sport Utility 4-door 2.4l 56,343 Miles on 2040-cars
Bradenton, Florida, United States
This is the DX model: rubber matting instead of carpet. I have one key.
This vehicle belonged to my brother-in-law who recently passed away. He was the second owner. He bought an extended warranty from Honda which I believe will run until July, 2015 or until 75,000 miles, whichever comes first. I was told by our local Honda dealer that this extended warranty may be transferred one time so this can be reassigned to the new owner and used to cover the automatic door lock issue that I mentioned. The interior is pretty clean...no holes or rips. As my brother-in-law was on oxygen there was no smoking in the vehicle. I do have the Carfax report that I can email to you upon request. It appears that all maintenance was done at the Honda dealer since they sold the Element new to its original owner. Winning bidder will make a $500.00 down payment within 24 hours of auction close using Paypal. Balance will paid within 7 days ( cash or certified bank check ) at the time of pickup. Vehicle is located in Bradenton, FL. |

NHTSA investigating 343,000 Honda Odyssey minivans
Sat, 06 Jul 2013The recall bug could strike Honda again as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened another investigation concerning the Odyssey minivan. Honda has already recalled 59,000 Odysseys from the 2012 and 2013 model years due to a shift interlock issue, and another 320,000 of the minivans from 2003-04 are being investigated for faulty airbags. Now, TheDetroitBureau.com is reporting that NHTSA is taking a look at the 2007-08 Odyssey for a problem associated with the brakes.
This investigation reportedly includes 343,000 Odysseys that could be suffering from an unexpected application of the brakes. According to the article, at least 22 people have reported such an issue, and in five cases, dealers found a trouble code associated with the steering angle sensor - part of the anti-lock brake and stability control systems. There is still no indication as to whether or not this will become a recall, but Honda has already recalled more than 1.8 million units this year.
Honda showcases the letter R in cool new ad campaign
Sun, 02 Nov 2014Okay Honda, you've won the Internet for the week. This cool "double-sided" video, featuring the new Civic and Civic Type R Concept, is one of the more interesting YouTube spots we've seen.
On the surface, "The Other Side" shows a regular dad, simply going about his day and picking his daughter's up from school. But press the "R" key while watching the video, and it transitions into an alternate video. The dad is now in a Civic Type R Concept, and he's not on the school run. Instead, he's involved in something... a bit more devious.
We won't spoil the ending, but suffice it to say, you'll want to watch this video through to its conclusion. Also, because of the unique nature of this video, we can't embed it here, so you'll need to hop over to Honda's UK YouTube channel.
J.D. Power study sees new car dependability problems increase for first time since 1998
Wed, 12 Feb 2014For the first time since 1998, J.D. Power and Associates says its data shows that the average number of problems per 100 cars has increased. The finding is the result of the firm's much-touted annual Vehicle Dependability Study, which charts incidents of problems in new vehicle purchases over three years from 41,000 respondents.
Looking at first-owner cars from the 2011 model year, the study found an average of 133 problems per 100 cars (PP100, for short), up 6 percent from 126 PP100 in last year's study, which covered 2010 model-year vehicles. Disturbingly, the bulk of the increase is being attributed to engine and transmission problems, with a 6 PP100 boost.
Interestingly, JDP notes that "the decline in quality is particularly acute for vehicles with four-cylinder engines, where problem levels increase by nearly 10 PP100." Its findings also noticed that large diesel engines also tended to be more problematic than most five- and six-cylinder engines.
