Refreshed 2014 Honda Civic Coupe to bow at SEMA
Fri, 25 Oct 2013Honda has announced plans to bring a refreshed, 2014 Honda Civic Coupe to the 2013 SEMA Show, set to kick off on November 5. Honda's struggles with the ninth-generation Civic have been widely publicized, and while the 2013 model year sedan has seen a significant overhaul, the two-door is now getting some additional enhancements for 2014.
Honda has released one teaser image of the Civic Si Coupe to go along with the announcement, but we can discern a few things. The Si Coupe now features a larger rear spoiler, along with a restyled, more aggressive rear bumper, complete with a diffuser. The taillights look smoked, and the wheels look larger than the current Si's alloys.
Besides those details, it looks like we'll be waiting until November 5 to see just what Honda has in store for the Civic. Take a look below for the full press release from Honda.
'Tornado' at Rose Bowl Fan Fest wreaks havoc on Honda display
Fri, Jan 2 2015California's been host to some oddball weather for the past few years - particularly oddball, even for California, that is. An example of which struck again during the Honda Fan Fest at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on New Year's Eve. A robust dust devil – labeled a "tornado" by the anonymous videographer – planted itself among the stands and then rolled across the lawn, twirling several vendor stands and an inflatable tent around in the air, seemingly damaging some new Honda and Acura models that were on display where some attendees had sought refuge. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt, but four people were treated for injuries - probably including the committed Fan Fest worker who tried to grab a flying canopy and got spun around and thrown to the ground. Which is kinda the way Oregon treated Florida State. We had to watch it twice, because the first time, we couldn't take our eyes off the cow. Check out the chaos in the video above. Senna's McLaren drives Honda up the wall
Wed, 11 Sep 2013Honda is getting excited for its imminent return to Formula One with McLaren. So excited, in fact, that it got its new/old friends from Woking to loan it one of its old F1 cars. But not just any old F1 car...
On display at the Honda stand in Frankfurt this year is the 1988 McLaren MP4-4 in which the legendary Ayrton Senna drove to fifteen out of sixteen grands prix that season to take the championship in spectacular style.
Honda provided the engine for that car, a 1.5-liter turbo V6 with upwards of 600 horsepower to propel less than 1,200 lbs. Of course this being a static display car, it's likely been stripped of its engine, gearbox and most other internal mechanical components. But that doesn't make the sight of it any less memorable.
