1995 Honda Del Sol VTEC model. very excellent original condition Honda with verifiable 47K miles. What I mean by verifiable is a complete set of service records from the original owner showing religious oil change service (at Larry Hopkins Honda in Sunnyvale) for the entire life of the car. mileage is noted along with the date serviced.
Selling only due to out of state relocation - can't take all of the cars!
This Honda has the much sought after B16A3 DOHC VTEC engine that produces 160HP...and has the highest redline of all DelSol Honda (8250 rpm). This is a premium fuel car that has averaged about 31-32 MPG on the freeway for me.
What I have done:
*Bought the JDM visor set and installed. This means that the visors actually work to the side vs. the US DOT versions (originals included).
*Bought the Honda Factory brake pads and did the front only because of the mileage. Surprised to find that the fronts had 75% pad left...never changed the rear...both new and used included.
*Paid Honda (Steve Hopkins of Fairfield - yes - related to Larry) to do a valve lash adjustment, replace the thermostat, cooling system service and to replace the timing belt. None of that really needed doing (belt was like new - but was recommended for a 18 year old car) - drive belts are still original and like new.
*Because of a speaker rattle, had new coaxial stock replacement speakers installed at all points - nothing special in the sense of massive amps, etc. - just to clean up the sound.
This really is a see to believe car and can say that there is absolutely nothing mechanically wrong. Listed small flaws in the paint above - but will say this is pretty close to mint for the original paint. Garaged most of the time - rubber trim is really like new - removable top does not leak whatsoever. No wrinkling at the door panels. Pretty mint original floor mats (I think they call them rainbows lol). I will include the original Monroe window sticker to prove the origin as rust-free California. I believe the buy it now price, though above KBB is perfectly reasonable for this rare top model DOHN VTEC Del Sol - It represents Honda at its finest and is a wonderful car for the price
will take any additional photos - tried to show all
I reserve the right to end the listing early as my neighbor has expressed the desire to purchase - but I have to cover all basis

Sporty cars from the '80s get retro reviews from MotorWeek
Tue, Mar 10 2015The more things change, the more they stay the same. That's the feeling we're left with after watching the retro-review video above, in which MotorWeek – television's original automotive magazine, as if you didn't already know – takes a look at the 1984 Honda Prelude. A sporty coupe from Japan that lacks the outright performance and thrust of comparable American and European competitors, but makes any perceived slight up with unarguably supreme driving dynamics? That sounds sort of familiar, doesn't it? As always, we love taking a look back at the early days of MotorWeek (the more things change, they more they stay the same, remember?). And it doesn't end there. Far from it, in fact. Not only did MotorWeek bestow upon us the Prelude, Maryland's favorite public television show also unleashed retro reviews of (deep breath) the '82 Fiat X1/9, '84 Olds Cutlass, '88 Lotus Esprit Turbo, '84 Nissan 200SX Turbo, '88 Subaru XT6, '88 Toyota Celica All Trac, '84 Ford EXP Turbo, '89 Suzuki Swift GTi and '89 Mazda 323 GTX. Watch them all, up above and down below. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. This content is hosted by a third party. Honda surprises with Gear concept in Montreal
Thu, 17 Jan 2013It's not often that a major automobile manufacturer debuts a brand-new concept at the Montreal International Auto Show - mostly because it takes place concurrently with the massive show in Detroit - but here we are with the so-called Honda Gear Concept Study Model, which was just uncovered by our friendly neighbors to the north.
According to the automaker, the Gear "demonstrates Honda's innovative approach to providing the automotive answer for young, urban, Gen-Y lifestyles. Inspired by fixed-gear bicycles... Gear is simple and utilitarian, but also customizable, connected and full of personality." It is apparently "practical but fun, customizable, connected and affordable. Everything that young, discerning urban buyers would want in a car," according to Dave Marek, Design Director at Honda R&D Americas.
We don't know anything else - what might lie underhood, how it is "connected" or at what price point it might potentially be sold at. Check out our high-res image gallery above and the press release below and you'll know just about as much as we do.
Honda reveals Mobilio MPV, Brio Satya hatchback for Asian markets
Thu, 19 Sep 2013Sometimes, vehicles developed for mainstream markets don't work as well in emerging markets due to a lack of infrastructure for which they were originally designed. Indonesia is one of those environs where vehicles that are low, long and wide struggle cover the country's often rough terrain, let alone fit into the nation's compact parking spaces. Taking this into account, Honda has been developing the Mobilio multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), which it teased in July, based on research conducted on the country's roads and weather conditions. Today the Japanese automaker unveiled a prototype of the MPV at the Indonesia International Motor Show.
The Mobilio has three rows of seating for seven occupants, is compact enough to fit into the country's parking spaces, which are often less than 14.4 feet in length, and has a sports utility vehicle-like ground clearance of 7.3 inches to handle most road conditions. It's equipped with a 1.5-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder engine, which should give the MPV good fuel economy.
On September 11, Honda also introduced the Brio Satya five-door hatchback (shown at right) for the Indonesian market, which features an i-VTEC four-cylinder engine that Honda says will help the car net a fuel economy rating of 20 kilometers per liter of gasoline (equivalent to 47 miles per gallon). The model is closely related to the Brio budget hatchback, which was first revealed back in 2011.
