For sale is a very clean one owner 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid. We have sold several Civic Hybrids and this one is particularly nice. It runs and drives 100%, is super fuel efficient and is being sold with no reserve. The 1.3L four cylinder electric/gas engine purrs along without a miss, smoke or fluid leak. The hybrid system is working perfectly. It is charging and assisting as necessary and the auto stop engages when stopped. No "check engine" or "IMA" lights. The automatic transmission is shifting smoothly without hesitation. No "shutter" when starting. The brakes, steering and suspension are great. No exhaust leaks. The exterior is a glossy silver blue. There are no major dents or dings. No rust. The windshield is crack or chip free. The lights and lenses are clear and bright with no cracks. The tires, on factory alloy wheels, have about 25% tread. We would consider the exterior condition above average for an eight year old car. The interior is also very clean and dark grey in color. There are no wear areas on the carpet or cloth seats. It has a factory sound system with CD and cassette. All the power options such as windows, side mirrors, cruise control, etc. work as designed. The heat is hot and the AC is cold. This is a very clean 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid in both appearance and performance. It has the same fuel efficiency as the higher priced new hybrids. We could not find any mechanical issues and there is no indication of any impending problems. The new owner will be able to drive it home, with confidence, no matter where they live. This quality one owner Civic is being sold by a Maryland Used Car Dealer. We require, on ALL internet sales, a $200 internet auction fee which covers document, clerical, airport transportation, IT support, internet provider and all other internet auction expenses. This fee covers our fixed expenses and allows us to sell with no reserve. We offer, with proof of insurance, a 60 day temporary tag for $50. This is a NO RESERVE auction which means that the high bidder, at auction end, must purchase the vehicle. Only bid if you intend to buy and you understand the payment procedure. Please don't insult our intelligence, and yours, with some lame excuse why you can't buy when you win. ALL non-paying bidders will be reported to Ebay. IF THE DEPOSIT IS NOT RECEIVED THROUGH PAYPAL WITHIN 24 HOURS AS REQUIRED WE WILL AUTOMATICALLY RELIST AND REPORT AN UNPAID BIDDER. We try to describe all vehicles accurately. SINCE THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE A CURRENT MARYLAND INSPECTION MARYLAND MVA REGULATIONS STATE THAT IT CAN ONLY BE PURCHASED BY A NON-MARYLAND RESIDENT. DESPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDED. |

Honda speeds down memory lane with its first F1 car
Fri, 22 Nov 2013Though most Formula One teams are based in the UK, they hail from places all around the world. There are teams from Russia, India and Malaysia, but in the 1960s, the idea of an F1 team coming from as far away as Japan was unthinkable in what was a predominantly European racing series. That's just the notion that Honda aimed to upset when it entered the car you see here in the 1964 Formula One World Championship.
With a 1.5-liter V12 dispensing 220 horsepower through a six-speed manual (its shifter necessitating the steering wheel mounted left-of-center), the 1964 Honda RA271 was built around an aluminum monocoque in a package that looks like a Formula Vee car you could erect in your garage, but it state-of-the-art when it was built. Speaking of which, Honda only built one, and today it's part of the Honda Collection Hall at Motegi, but the priceless racer made the trip down to Japan's capital so we could check it out at the Tokyo Motor Show. Awfully nice of Honda, we'd say. Check it out in our gallery of live shots from the show floor above.
Acura introduces a sleeker self-driving test car
Wed, May 18 2016As we creep ever closer to an autonomous-car future, one thing is for certain, most of the driverless cars we see being tested look hideous thanks to all the sensors strapped to the roof. Today Acura introduced its second generation Automated Acura RLX Development Vehicle with updated sensors and a more pleasing aesthetic. Gone is the spinning LIDAR system replaced with a more compact and robust version of the light detection and ranging technology. It's also got updated RADAR, camera, GPS and higher performance GPUs and CPUs as well as what Acura is calling "more intelligent software algorithms to support more complex testing scenarios." Acura and its parent company Honda have been testing autonomous cars at its GoMentum Station in the Bay Area since last year with a specially outfitted RLX (shown in the video above with the spinning LIDAR system). This new car will replace that vehicle. This article by Roberto Baldwin originally ran on Engadget, the definitive guide to this connected life. Honda stretches new Shuttle to Fit the Japanese market
Tue, Apr 21 2015While the Honda Odyssey that we get here in North America may be getting bigger with each passing generation, the minivans Honda offers in its home market are still pretty small. Like the new Shuttle. Set to be unveiled in full next month, the new Shuttle is a compact minivan that looks like a longer version of the Fit hatchback we get over here. In fact previous versions were marketed as the Fit Shuttle, but the little hatchback's handle seems to have been dropped from this latest model. It's still a five-seater, but with extra cargo capacity including under-floor storage, all in a compact, Tokyo-friendly form. It's not as small as a Kei car – the miniature vehicle segment which Honda covers with its N series – but would likely be far too small to suit the typical American family. Technical details are still forthcoming, but the new Shuttle will be available with a 1.5-liter direct-injection inline-four or a hybrid powertrain, just like the Fit. But unlike the little hatchback we know, it will also be available with all-wheel drive.
