I only have one key fob and the valet key as one of the keys got progressively worse and I always had to press the button several times to lock or un-lock doors and finally just got rid of the key with plans to go to Honda dealership to replace but never got around to it.
My car was hit in the rear while sitting at a traffic light but doesn't affect Civic in anyway. Only resulting damage was fiberglass rear bumper was cracked and a piece of Styrofoam located behind bumper also cracked. I had car repaired by auto body shop within 1 week and the whole bumper and Styrofoam piece were both replaced as well as paint was blended into rear quarter panels. No damage was done to sheet metal or rear lenses.
I'm the original owner having purchasing Civic brand new in April of 2010. Car is super clean and I can only think of one very small scratch on driver's side rear quarter panel and the usual couple of small chips from stones on hood which doesn't appear to be through to primer coat. I change the oil every 10k miles using Mobil 1 Synthetic Motor Oil. About two years ago, while still under warranty, I had the dealership replace the power steering pump as the original pump went bad. Only other maintenance that was performed was the Air filter and Cabin Air Filter where replaced. The civic engines require a new washer on the oil pan plug be replaced with each and every oil change and I have a few extra washers to include. It gets great gas mileage and has only been used as a daily commuter for 50 mile roundtrip back and forth to work on interstate. If you have any questions at all, please ask and I'll respond as quickly as possible. Really nothing else I can say about this very reliable car with great gas mileage. Impetus for selling my car is my family is acquiring a travel trailer from a relative and we don't have room for 3 vehicles and the travel trailer at our home and I'll need to keep my truck for pulling the travel trailer.
Car has also been kept in my garage when not being driven. I do a lot of hauling for home projects and seem to use my truck most of the time.

Honda's Euro Civic hatch getting facelift, too
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Honda's freshening of the Civic line isn't just limited to the North American market, as proven by these images of the Euro-spec model testing on Her Majesty's motorways.
According to our spies, this new Civic boasts a heavily restyled front fascia, with headlights and taillights that draw a quite a bit of inspiration from the Civic Type R Concept from the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
The restyled front fascia has a sportier lean, with more significant lateral intakes and what looks like a slightly larger lower intake. It's more difficult to make out details on the rear of the car, although we can spot a modest little diffuser and a larger integrated spoiler.
Honda S2000, Acura RSX recalled over brake boosters
Fri, 14 Jun 2013Honda has announced a recall that affects two of our favorite, dearly departed cars from the brand's portfolio: the S2000 roadster and Acura RSX coupe. A total of 5,239 S2000 models from the 2006 and 2007 model years are affected by this problem, as are 13,113 2006 Acura RSX models.
"A production error may have allowed brake booster components to be produced outside of the original specifications, potentially causing decreased brake assistance over time, which could increase the risk of a crash," American Honda said in a press release. Thus, dealerships will inspect and, if necessary, replace the brake booster setups in these vehicles, free of charge.
No crashes or injuries have been reported in relation to this brake problem. Honda says the problem was discovered during warranty claim analysis.
Why Japan's government is looking to curb its adorable kei car market
Tue, Jun 10 2014Each region around the world has its stereotypical vehicle. The US has the pickup and Europe the five-door hatchback; but in Japan, the kei car reigns supreme. These tiny cars are limited to just 660cc of displacement but they've also come with lower taxes to make them more affordable. To make of the most of their small size, they've often had quite boxy styling like the Honda N-One shown above, and because they're Japanese, they've often had quirky names like the Nissan Dayz Roox. However, if the Japanese government has its way, the future popularity of these little guys might be in jeopardy. The problem facing them is that Japan is an island both literally and figuratively. After World War II, the Japanese government created the class as a way to make car ownership more accessible. The tiny engines generally meant better fuel economy to deal with the nation's expensive gas, and the tax benefits also helped. It's made the segment hugely popular even today, with kei cars making up roughly 40 percent of the nation's new cars sales last year, according to The New York Times. The downside is that these models are almost never exported because they aren't as attractive to buyers elsewhere (if indeed they even meet overseas regulations). So if an automaker ends up with a popular kei model, it can't really market it elsewhere. The government now sees that as a threat to the domestic auto industry. It believes that every yen invested into kei development is wasted, and the production takes up needed capacity at auto factories. The state would much rather automakers create exportable models. To do this, it's trying to make the little cars less attractive to buy, and thus, less attractive to build. The authorities recently increased taxes on kei cars by 50 percent to narrow the difference between standard cars, according to the NYT. If kei cars do lose popularity, it could open the market up to greater competition from foreign automakers. Several companies complained about the little cars stranglehold on the Japanese market last year, but since then, imported car sales there have shown some growth thanks to the improving economy.
