This is the Honda Civic - SI I-VTEC DOHC. At the time I write this, there are no mechanical problems that I am aware of, nor have there been since I bought it. Only have replaced the battery and brake pads. The car is just as solid and peppy as the day I drove it off the showroom floor. It is a great, great car. I am the original owner. It has 4 new 94V Wintrac Xtreme XL tires ( 7,000 miles on them) and a new battery within the last year. The interior is in very good to excellent condition other than one unfortunate flaw - there is a small cigarette burn on the back seat. Someone was back there smoking - need I say more. The SI is noted for having the red stitching throughout the car including the steering wheel - there is no broken stitching anywhere! The only functional issue to mention is last week the drivers side automatic door lock stopped working (passenger and hatch are fine). It needs a new actuator put in ($15 part). The outside does have some scratches and small dings as to be expected with a 9 year old car, but there is nothing major! The scratches and dings are minor - you actually cannot feel them, just see them. This SI has the sunroof and it does not leak!!! I have religiously changed the oil every 3,000 miles, and it just passed the Illinois emissions control test in September. It really is an awesome car. Please email me with any questions that you might have - I will be 100% honest with you. Local pick-up or I will work with you if you need to have it shipped (buyer's expense). I sold my Alfa Romeo on ebay and worked with the buyer to ship it to Pennsylvania. I require a $500 deposit thru Paypal within 24 hrs with payment in full within 7 days of auction close through Paypal or with a cashier checks or money order. Car can be picked up or shipped when money has cleared. Thank you for looking. NOTE: Someone asked me why I was selling the car and how it was driven for the time that I owned it. I am selling it because I fell in love with the Hyundai Veloster - Turbo - Red!! I really had no intention of buying a new car (obviously since I had just spent $800 on new tires), but I saw the Veloster on the showroom floor and it was over. My Civic SI was driven with respect. I am a 65 yr. old female, but don't let that fool you. I love cars and I am a very good driver. I have always owned sportscars (Porsche, 2 Alfa Romeos). I bought the SI because it came very close to handling like my Porsche and the shift gear came out of the dash like in my Alfas. So, to me it was the best of both worlds. It handled like a sportscar yet I could put things in there from Home Depot!. So, did I drive it fast, yes at times, but never recklessly. Another question to answer: My reserve price is not much more than my starting auction price.

Acura NSX GT3 racecar bares all in raw carbon
Thu, Jul 7 2016Acura slowly and dramatically revealed the NSX over a period of years. There were previews, concepts, and lots of teases before Acura finally showed us the whole thing. It's a different story for the racecar. And today, the wraps come off the FIA GT3-spec NSX to show all of its bare-carbon glory. The NSX GT3 strips away more than just the paint from the standard road car. The racecar comes sans hybrid system, meaning all the power from the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 is sent solely to the rear wheels. Modifications to the body include a large rear wing, underbody diffuser, and bigger hood vents for engine cooling. While the hybrid system may be gone, the NSX GT3 uses the same block, heads, valvetrain, crankshaft, pistons, and dry sump lubrication system as the road car. Power is sent through a six-speed sequential gearbox instead of the road car's nine-speed. The NSX GT3 will be built alongside the street version in Ohio. Honda engineers in Japan and North America shared in the development. Final GT3 homologation will be completed by the company's Honda Performance Division in Santa Clarita, CA. Related video:
2018 L.A. Auto Show: 5-plus takeaways on Jeep, Honda, Porsche and more
Thu, Nov 29 2018The 2018 L.A. Auto Show is making a strong case that auto shows aren't dead. Carmakers are ladling out sports cars and SUVs featuring serious style and performance in Los Angeles, and it's a feast for the senses. We're talking the new Porsche 911, the long-awaited Jeep Gladiator and the stylish Mazda3. It's the best car show with the most important reveals since the 2018 Detroit Auto Show kicked off the year. Here are some quick reactions: The 2019 Jeep Gladiator is a rock star When the story went live on Autoblog, our traffic went straight up. I've literally never seen the graph go straight up. So yeah, you guys seem to like it. I do, too. It's everything I want in a vehicle, including enough of a retro feel that it satisfies my cravings for an old Cherokee XJ. It's more capable and likely more expensive than I originally anticipated, but Jeep is going to have to expand its Toledo factory to keep up with demand. Don't be fooled by whatever the politicians say when that happens. It's because people like Jeeps and pickups, and this is the hero sandwich of all of that. I'd likely go with the 3.6-liter and a manual transmission if I were buying a Gladiator, but the diesel is compelling, too. Gladiator is a great name, drenched in history. I like it better than Scrambler, which never felt right to me. Only issue: It's a little over-the-top. Imagine this conversation: "So, ready to go to Panera?" "Sure, let's take the Gladiator." I mean, it's a bit much to refer to your personal vehicle as the Gladiator. Unless Russell Crowe is driving it. Then it's fine. The 2020 Porsche 911 is conservatively brilliant Every time I drive a 718 Cayman, Jaguar F-Type or another 911 challenger, I wonder if the 911 may be over the hill. It's not. And it likely never will be. This latest generation, dubbed 992 in Porsche-speak, stayed the course. The back takes some Mission E stylings that give the 911 a more modern feel. The flat six gets a little more power. The digital-heavy interior looks futuristic and slick. But overall, it's a blocking-and-tackling update that should satisfy the purists and maybe draw in a few new Porsche fans. It's the right time for the 2019 Honda Passport This slots between the Honda CR-V and the Honda Pilot. That's serious segmentation, but it's another crossover, and it's undoubtedly what the people want.
