I RECEIVED THIS VEHICLE TO SATISFY A FAMILY MEMBERS DEBT, HOWEVER DUE TO MY HOA RULES ON HOW MANY CARS YOU CAN HAVE I CANNOT KEEP THE CAR AND AM SELLING IT AS IS WITH NO RESERVE FOR A FAST SALE. I AM NOT A CAR EXPERT, BUT AM DECENT WITH CARS AND GAVE THIS CAR A TEST DRIVE AND LOOKED OVER IT AND HERE IS MY OPINIONS ON IT... CIVIC HAS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FOR A EGR RELATED CODE P0401 AND P0404. CALLED MY MECHANIC WITH THE CODE AND HE SAID NEW EGR OR DO NOTHING AS IT WILL ONLY AFFECT GAS MILEAGE BY A FEW MPG. NEW EGR UNDER 100.00 ON EBAY. SUSPENSION CREEKS SOME GOING OVER BUMPS..I WOULD GUESS NEW SHOCKS NEEDED WITH THIS MILEAGE OR ONCE AGAIN DRIVE AS IS AS IT DOESNT BOTTOM OUT OR ANYTHING..JUST CREEKS.. LOTS OF SCRATCHES AND DENTS ON THE EXTERIOR WHICH I TRIED TO SHOW IN PHOTOS. COUSINS EX BF BROKE A WINDOW WHICH WE REPLACED..THE ONE THAT ISNT TINTED! HIS DUMBASS SELF ALSO PUNCHED THE HORN CAUSING THE CRACKS IN STEERING WHEEL COVER WHICH IS IN PHOTOS...PURELY COSMETIC AGAIN. ONLY ONE WINDOW WORKS...THE PASSENGER SIDE...THE REST DO NOT AND THE DRIVE SIDE REAR WINDOW IS TAPED SHUT... INTERIOR IS DECENT..NO MAJOR ISSUES CAR STARTED RIGHT UP FOR ME, BUT WAS OUT OF POWER STEERING FLUID..I ADDED SOME AND SHE DROVE FINE FOR THE 10 MILE DRIVE I TOOK IT ON,,,ID GUESS THE POWER STEERING HOSE IS LEAKING OR THE PUMP IS FAILING/FAILED SMALL CRACK IN WINDSHIELD-HALF AN INCH... ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION WORK FINE..SHIFTED SMOOTH WITH A TRANNY SERVICE DONE AT 160K. FULL FLUIDS AND FILTER. AC BLOWS COLD AIR BRAKES WORK WELL NO SQUEELS...STOPS FAST.. SO YEAH THATS MY REVIEW OF THE CAR... I HAVE NEVER WANTED TO TRY TO DRIVE THE CAR FAR AS IM NOT SURE OF ITS RELIABILITY, BUT SHORT DRIVES HAVE BEEN POSITIVE. I AM NO EXPERT AND COULD BE WRONG ABOUT ISSUES OR MISSING ISSUES, BUT I TRIED TO BE AS HONEST AS I COULD...YOU ARE WELCOME TO VIEW THE CAR IN PERSON OR SEND A MECHANIC FOR FURTHER REVIEW,, BUT THIS HAS TO BE DONE BEFORE THE AUCTION IS OVER,,, EMAIL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS,,,EXPECT A COSMETICALLY RATED 5 OUT OF 10 CIVIC, WITH HIGH MILES, AND SOME ISSUES TO REPAIR, BUT AS IM STARTING THE CAR AT 200 WITH NO RESERVE IT STILL COULD BE A GOOD BUY. ROUGH TRADE IN ON NADAGUIDES IS 2850 AND OK CONDITION RETAIL PRICE IS 5400. GOOD LUCK I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION AT ANY TIME AS THIS VEHICLE IS ALSO ON CRAIGSLIST. EMAIL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS AT ALL. photo photo1-11.jpg photo photo2-10.jpg photo photo3-9.jpg photo photo4-9.jpg photo photo4-9.jpg photo photo4-8.jpg photo photo3-8.jpg photo photo2-9.jpg photo photo1-10.jpg photo photo1-9.jpg photo photo2-8.jpg photo photo3-7.jpg photo photo4-7.jpg photo photo5-7.jpg photo photo1-8.jpg photo photo1-8.jpg photo photo4-6.jpg photo photo3-6.jpg photo photo2-7.jpg photo photo1-7.jpg photo photo1-7.jpg photo photo1-6.jpg photo photo5-5.jpg photo photo5-5.jpg photo photo3-5.jpg photo photo1-5.jpg photo photo2-4.jpg photo photo4-4.jpg photo photo5-4.jpg photo photo5-4.jpg photo photo3-3.jpg photo photo1-4.jpg photo photo2-3.jpg photo photo5-3.jpg photo photo4-3.jpg photo photo4-2.jpg photo photo4-2.jpg photo photo3-2.jpg photo photo5-2.jpg photo photo2-2.jpg photo photo1-3.jpg photo photo3-1.jpg photo photo5-1.jpg photo photo5-1.jpg/nn98/PEARLJAM34/photo5-1.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo photo5-1.jpg"/> photo photo2-1.jpg photo photo4-1.jpg

Junkyard Gem: 2000 Honda Passport 4WD

Sun, Nov 20 2022

The suits at American Honda Motor Company must have spent the bulk of the 1990s tearing out their hair in frustration as their rivals raked in big money from the sales of ever-more-profitable SUVs, even as American car shoppers lost interest in sedans and hatchbacks. Oh, sure, the Civic-based CR-V appeared here for the 1997 model year and sold well enough, but the lack of a larger SUV pained Honda more with each passing year. With the Acura MDX and Honda Pilot not ready for showrooms until the 2001 and 2002 model years, respectively, some stopgap had to be found. Isuzu stepped up and made a deal with Honda: the Rodeo would get Honda badges and become the Passport, while the Trooper would show up in Acura showrooms with SLX badges (for the 1994 and 1995 model years, respectively). Here's one of those Passports, found in a Denver-area self-service yard. Things got even weirder in the Isuzu/Honda world around the turn of the century, with the Honda Odyssey getting Isuzu badges and being sold as the Oasis. Fast-forward to 2009, and the only Isuzu-badged vehicles available new here were rebadged Chevrolets: the I-Series pickup (Chevy Colorado) and the Ascender (Chevy Trailblazer). The Passport name has some interesting American Honda history, stretching back to the first Honda vehicle sold here (and the biggest-selling motor vehicle in human history): the Super Cub. American Honda Motor Company couldn't use the Super Cub name on our shores, because Piper Aircraft had been selling a small plane called the Super Cub since 1949, so the motorcycle was called the Honda 50 over here. Eventually, this bike got a 70cc engine and became the Honda C70 Passport, sales of which continued through the middle 1980s. That means the Passports sitting in your local Honda dealership right now got their name from a one-cylinder motorcycle. General Motors has a Passport connection as well; when GM created the Geo brand to sell rebadged Isuzus, Suzukis, and Toyotas in the United States, it created a marque called Passport to sell the Daewoo LeMans as the Optima in Canada (all the other vehicles sold by Passport dealers were Isuzus). So, Honda's need to offer SUVs in its American dealerships led to an arrangement with GM-connected Isuzu to sell these trucks with a model name bearing links to both companies. So much history in the junkyard! Just as Geo-badged Toyota Corollas (mostly) got Delco radios, so did the Passport get Honda radios.

Ford F-150 bumps Camry from top of Cars.com American Made Index

Tue, 25 Jun 2013

With July 4th just around the corner, what better time could there be for Cars.com to announce that the Ford F-150 is the Most American car of 2013? This may be especially true since it was the Toyota Camry, a car produced by a company based in Japan, that had held the top spot from 2009 to 2012.
Cars.com compiles its Most American list by considering the amount of parts each vehicle uses that come from America, where it's final assembly takes place and how many units per year are sold. "While the assembly point and domestic parts content of the F-150 didn't change from 2012-2013, vehicle sales are responsible for bumping the F-150 to the top spot," according to Patrick Olsen, Editor-in-Chief of Cars.com.
As far as automakers go (as opposed to individual models), Toyota retains the top spot it held in 2012, with General Motors, Chrysler, Ford and Honda (in that order) rounding out the list. The motivation behind this list each year, according to Olsen, is "to help car shoppers understand that 'American-Made' extends beyond just the Detroit three" and because "a study we conducted in 2012 indicated that 25 percent of shoppers surveyed preferred to buy American."

American motorcycle brands most satisfying, Japanese most reliable, says Consumer Reports

Fri, Apr 10 2015

Consumer Reports started tracking motorcycle reliability last year through its regular reader survey, just like the magazine's well-known auto guide. For the 2015 edition, CR now has data on over 12,300 bikes, compared to 4,680 in 2014, and the extra info means it can include more brands, like Suzuki, Triumph and Can-Am, to the list. However, the final results remain largely the same. As with last year, Japanese bikes are the best choice for buyers who prioritize reliability. Yamaha comes out on top yet again and is followed by Suzuki, Kawasaki and Honda. Victory and Harley-Davidson hold the middle of the list, and the European cycles from Triumph, Ducati and BMW sit at the bottom. The major outlier in this regional distinction is the Can-Am Spyder from Canada's Bombardier Recreational Products that comes in dead last in the dependability survey. Still, even the most dependable model is occasionally going to break, and the average repair bill across all brands is $342, according to CR's readers. Kawasakis are the cheapest to keep on the road at a median of $269 for fixes, versus BMW as the most expensive at $455. Through all of the companies, electrical gremlins are the most common issue, causing 24 percent of problems, but faults with the cooling system, pistons or transmission are the smallest concerns at 4 percent each. While Japanese cycles might be the easiest to keep on the road, they aren't the most beloved by riders. In CR's gauge of satisfaction, the Americans reign supreme. Victory owners love their bikes the most with 80 percent reporting that they would buy another. Harley riders are known for having a close bond to the company's models, and the brand comes in second with 72 percent. Finally, Honda rounds out the top three at 70 percent.
