2000 Honda Civic Si Coupe 2-door 1.6l on 2040-cars
Chantilly, Virginia, United States
Probably the best example of a 2000 honda civic si. This vehicle is a classic in my opinion. It is finished in flamenco black pearl, and shows like a show car. I have put over 30 hours of paint correcting detailing into myself, and it is near flawless. I had purchased this car less than a year ago as a project car. Seeing as these vehicles are becoming increasingly harder to find, especially in good or near stock condition due to them being made in limited quantities I wanted buy and restore/improve one to near perfect condition as a personal hobby. I began with a full clean up, and then proceeded tastefully modify where i saw fit. The result is a 14 year old classic with some modern day features you will find on current cars such as HID lighting, and bluetooth connectivity for your cell phone. The following is a list of the work modifications made to this vehicle;
Engine tune up performance spark plugs, wires and cap mobil 1 engine oil honda transmission fluid Acura type r red valve cover Injen cold air intake Skunk 2 stut tower bar 2 front lower engine mounts replaced due to being worn Optima battery HID lighting kit projector housing head light assemblies oem style fog lamps installed in fornt bumper front bumper lower lip 2 front cv drive shafts replaced performance slotted rotors on all four corners performance red brake calipers on all four corners performance brake pads all four corners ( Also included will be a full set of slightly used Hawk brake pads ) Performance stainless steel brake lines for all four corners. ( only one line has been installed, the other 3 will be included with the car. Just havent had the time to install ) Ground control coil over shocks on all four corners Alpine cd player head unit JL Audio component system in front doors, with tweeters installed into door panels JL Audio component system in the rear on shelf Parrot handsfree bluetooth system Skunk 2 short shifter Skunk 2 shifter knob NRG racing steering wheel Parrot cell phone dock, adjustable, currently accommodates an iphone 5 Also replaced SI and DOHC decals with all new ones Vehicle has Khumo ecsta tires on all four corners with good tread left Vehicle has a clean car fax reports. I am selling because im ready to move on to the next project. This car has been tastefully modified and very well kept. It is not some beat down fast and furious version of a civic si.It is mostly stock, wheels interior, etc If i have missed anything, I will add it to the listing ASAP. If you have any questions please feel free to ask anytime, i will do my best to respond in a timely fashion. A lot of time and love has gone into this vehicle, and you will be hard pressed to fine one like it, thanks for viewing this listing, and happy bidding. |

Honda further expands Takata recall to 340k vehicles in Japan
Thu, May 28 2015Just days ago, Honda announced it would expand its global Takata airbag inflator recall by 4.89 million vehicles globally, though none of those were in the US. Now, the automaker has broadened the safety campaign in Japan by 340,000 units. The company's Japanese expansion includes 80,000 vehicles to replace their driver's side inflators. According to Reuters, these cars were covered under an earlier recall but weren't yet repaired. There are also 260,000 additional automobiles in the country in need of passenger side replacements. A broadened campaign is also coming for the US, but its extent isn't known yet. According to Reuters, Honda submitted the necessary documents to regulators on May 27. However, the automaker has decided to wait for National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to make the official announcement. Takata's exploding inflators are linked to six deaths and many injuries. Research indicates that exposure to moisture causes the part's propellant to ignite too quickly when the airbag is activated and can cause these ruptures. In testing on components taken from recalled vehicles, Takata found hundreds of cases of them bursting. Why Honda of America won't fit 2014 Fit models with start/stop
Tue, 24 Sep 2013One of the most recent yet notable additions to the modern vehicle's growing suite of fuel-saving technologies is the humble start-stop system. It's rather simple - when the vehicle is stopped, the engine shuts off. It then fires back up when the driver starts to take his foot off the brake or step on the clutch. For one of the most important fuel sippers of the year, though, start-stop tech is a no-go.
Honda will not be offering the system on the North American-spec, non-hybrid Fit despite it being a standard item on both the hybrid (pictured above) and gas-only Japanese domestic models. According to Honda, it's ostensibly due to the momentary lag, that occurs when the gas engine re-fires and power is available. The start-stop-equipped Fits "will lose at stoplights to V6s," Nobuhiko Shishido, the lead powertrain engineer for the Fit, told Automotive News. This is just an observation on our part, but unless the new Fit turns up with dramatically more than the current car's 117 horsepower, it'll "lose at stoplights" regardless of whatever fuel-saving features are fitted.
The other issue Honda sees is more realistic. In the world of the EPA, stop-start systems are not taken into account in fuel economy testing. That makes the cost-adding technology a tough sell for US consumers who are forced to take a dealer's word on real-world economy gains over the milage numbers on the window sticker. That said, wouldn't it at least make sense to offer start-stop as an option? Have your say in the Comments below.
