1999 Honda Civic Ex Coupe Silver. Only 82,000 Miles!! Low Reserve on 2040-cars

Year:1999 Mileage:82567 Color: and interior are in great condition
Location:

North Andover, Massachusetts, United States

North Andover, Massachusetts, United States

You are bidding on a 1999 Honda Civic EX Coupe with 82K original miles. It is silver with dark grey interior. Fabric seats. It is a one owner vehicle with a clean car fax history. Never been in an accident.

power windows, power sunroof, power locks, power mirrors. Has key fob security and automatic start up (but doesn't always work properly. Might just need new key fob battery). The car has been garaged most of the time. The exterior and interior are in great condition. The rear bumper does have a small crack in the corner. Has original radio and cd player, however, the cd player does not work.

The vehicle has not been inspected since 2012 (last year). It was rejected due to emissions. (It isn't a car we use very often as we now have 2 kids. This was used as our second car just for running errands here or there). I just had the problem fixed (see photo of invoice). I put in $400 to fix the issue. Unfortunately, before I got the car in to be re-inspected, the check engine light came on. I do not have the time or money to get the car checked again. I did got to Auto Zone who ran the check engine code as it was quoted to me for a repair of $300 for a part that costs less than $50 (might be the gas cap). I also just put in a brand new battery and had the brakes done.

This has been an amazing car. Drives wonderfully. Great for someone who can afford to put a little bit of money into it or who works on cars  to the have the vehicle repaired to pass inspection. The reserve is low and someone can certainly steal this for a great price. These are listed online for up to $8000 with many more miles on it.

The Honda Civic is one of the most reliable vehicles in history.

Is Honda working on airbags for smartphones?

Wed, 04 Dec 2013

Smartphones are expensive yet delicate - a single impact on a hard surface can shatter their touchscreens, often damaging them beyond repair. Fitting a case offers only so much protection, but what about an airbag? Honda has explored the concept with the airbag-equipped Case N and even made a video about it. But alas, it isn't real.
For some reason, we really want it to be. Honda has a knack for surprising us with nearly unbelievable inventions designed to improve mankind's quality of life, contraptions like the Walking Assist Device and the UNI-CUB personal mobility devices, so the Case N isn't as far-fetched an idea for the company as you might think.
Head below to watch the video, where you can see the Case N concept in action. You'll also see its generous proportions, which is one reason why it's just a case of Honda humor - not (yet) a market reality.

Honda CR-Z carbon-fiber prototype

Tue, 03 Dec 2013

When Honda rolled out the CR-Z a few years ago, it hoped to bridge the gap between those who would save the planet and those who would rather burn all of its resources in a glorious cloud of tire smoke. But enthusiasts recalling the CRX of 1980s vintage balked, imploring Honda to ditch the heavy battery packs and electric motors in favor of a lighter-weight, more conventional powertrain. At this point it seems less likely that Honda would do so at one end of the market than Porsche would ditch the hybrid component of its 918 Spyder at the other. But that doesn't mean Honda isn't still cooking up ways to curb the CR-Z's weight. And it had just one such idea waiting for us when we visited its Japanese R&D center at Tochigi last week.
Nestled in between the JDM hatchbacks, powertrain test mules and new technology prototypes Honda rolled out for us sat the experimental CR-Z you see here. While it may look mostly like the hybrid sport-hatch you can pick up at your local dealer (albeit blacked out), nearly all of this prototype's bodywork has been completely replaced, as have its basic underpinnings, with carbon-fiber reinforced plastic. The exotic material is usually reserved for high-end exotics, but like BMW is democratizing its use in the new i3, so too is Honda researching ways to implement the use of carbon fiber on a mass scale. This one-of-a-kind CR-Z prototype stands, for the time being, as the embodiment of that effort.

2015 Honda Fit set for Detroit reveal

Thu, 19 Dec 2013

We've got one more debut confirmed for next month's Detroit Auto Show, as Honda has announced that it will be showing off the 2015 Fit in the Motor City. Honda has released a singular image of the new Fit's rear taillight, above.
From the sole image, we can see that the American-spec Fit will share at least its taillights with the Japanese variant, which we've helpfully included an image of to the right. Now, technically, the blue car to the right is the Fit Hybrid, a car we aren't expecting to see in the US market. But the gallery of images we've included below should give those interested in the car a very good idea of what the new Fit will look like when it hits the auto show stage next month.
As for what will be under hood when it debuts in January, Honda is touting its Earth Dreams Technology engine, which we take to mean some sort of four-cylinder, gas-powered mill. Expect excellent fuel economy from the new car, and according to the Japanese brand, "leading-edge connected car technologies."
