Completely Stock 1993 Civic Si Hatchback. Has the d16z6 Vtec engine with 5 speed transmission. Car has been garage kept its entire life. never seen snow. new windshield (needs windshield molding. The old molding crumbled when the windshield was replaced. Car was professionally repainted by the original owner about 5 years ago, it shines very well. car has a new radiator and cap, master brake cylinder, new rear brake line. clutch has been replaced about 15k ago with a OEM clutch. has cruise control too. previous owner stated the timing belt water pump, tensioner were all replaced at 100K. I will include a new OEM Honda timing belt kit with OEM water pump, upper and lower cam and crank seal as well as a rear main seal to the new owner. a 300 value. I was gonna change the timing belt myself but I don't have the time.Has a/c ad heat and a sunroof. radio was replaced with a sony cd player with ipod connect. Not one rip or tear in the interior. car is smoke free and super clean vehicle. ZERO RUST. I REPEAT ZERO RUST. sunroof is electric. Disc brakes all around. Air works but will probably need a charge. its cold but not artic. Paint is in exceptional condition. Could probably use some shocks and struts in the near future as it riding on the stock stuff. Clutch makes a noise not a chatter but a noise as if the clutch isn't pulling off the flywheel far enough. it immediately stops when clutch is depressed. it may be something small like a clutch slave cylinder I don't know. it has been driven this way as a daily driver with no issues. Hood release cabin latch broke. I will include a new cable that I purchased from Honda. the hood still closes with no issues. very reliable and a consistent 30+ MPG. Overall this is a super solid car and a above average example of a civic si for its age. If you have a question about the car please ask. If you don't have the funds please save all parties time by not bidding. Shipping is to be arranged by the buyer as this is the expense of the new owner. car needs to be paid in full and picked up pronto. a 1000 deposit is required directly after auction ends. My feedback speaks for itself. car currently has 129,203 miles. Good Luck and Happy Bidding. |

Remembering the glory days of the Honda Civic Si
Sat, Feb 28 2015In addition to watching host John Davis slowly age over his decades on the show, MotorWeek's Retro Review series on YouTube allows us to look back on some of the favorite models of yesteryear to see their evolution toward present day. Take the 1989 Honda Civic Si for example, which is newly featured. The name is still on the market, and the current model boasts 205 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque from its 2.4-liter four-cylinder. However, the current Si is being left behind in power by other performance compacts like the latest Volkswagen GTI, Subaru WRX and Ford Focus ST. Back in 1989, the Civic Si was still something of an upstart in the hot hatch ranks and definitely had something to prove. Remember, this was a about decade before the tuner boom of the late '90s gave these Hondas massive popularity. Though, the writing was on the wall for eventual success, based on the MotorWeek review. The show called it "stylish" and was attracted to vehicle's sharp handing, even with no power steering. Like today, power was lacking compared to major competitors like he VW GTI, but Honda's 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 108 hp and 100 lb-ft still received some praise. As always, it's fascinating to see how these now beloved models stack up when looking back. The high-performance Civic might be due for another surge in popularity too, if the forthcoming Type R from Europe ever makes to the US. Takata airbag victim looked like she had been stabbed
Tue, 21 Oct 2014We generally take certain principals for granted. The more water you drink, for example, the healthier you'll be. The more time you spend reading car news on Autoblog, the better informed you'll be. And the more airbags your car has, the safer you'll be. Because airbags equal safety. But that's not what some unfortunate drivers of vehicles equipped with Takata airbags are finding, and tragically finding out the hard way.
In what could be the most startling incident resulting from the airbag debacle so far, a woman named Hien Tran of Orlando, FL, was killed by what looked at first like stab wounds on her neck. It later emerged that the fatal injuries could have been inflicted by the faulty airbag on her Honda Accord. Tran bought her Honda secondhand, and may not have been aware that the airbag issue had not been addressed by its previous owner in a previous recall in 2009.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death, but it wouldn't be the only injury resulting from the malfunctioning Takata airbags. The units, employed particularly by Japanese automakers like Honda (which owns part of Takata) and Toyota, are the subject of a massive recall involving some 14 million vehicles from 11 different automakers.
Leno meets the nicest people on his bored-out Honda CB750
Tue, 08 Jul 2014Jay Leno's Garage is back to its tried-and-true formula this week with Jay taking a close look at a seriously cool vehicle with a guest. This time he invites in Adam Gaspic from Gasser Custom to take a look at a highly customized 1975 Honda CB750.
The bike is really an amalgam of styles from different eras and various Honda parts. Its looks are inspired by '50s hot rods with its white-wall tires and satin, metallic fuel tank, but there is a little British café racer in there, as well. A digital instrument panel and LED turn signals lend an air of modernity to it, too. Mechanically, the bike rides on a modified '75 frame with the front and rear suspension from an '80s Honda. However, the pièce de résistance is its engine, bored out to 836cc with additional head work and a custom exhaust.
Once on the road, the bike really sings. It sounds just the way a classic Japanese motorcycle should with a mix of whine at high-revs with rumble down low. A cycle that mixes this many styles should probably be a mess, but this fuses it all together perfectly. Scroll down to take a look at this motorcycle mixing classic and modern in Jay Leno's Garage.
