Selling my 1992 Honda Civic Si.  191K miles.  Bought the car in 1992..... I am the original owner. It's still loads of fun to drive..... peppy, responsive, gets great gas mileage (averaging 32-36 depending on how you're driving). A/C works!  I have the original manual and most maintenance records.  Oil is changed every 5000 miles or so. All stock, no upgrades. Daily driver. Clean. Body & interior in great shape. Minor dings that are hard to see in photos but expected of a car after time.....hood has some road chips as well, but all normal wear and tear. Tried to convey in the photos.

Due to family considerations, this small car is not practical for me anymore.  :-(   Moving on to family sedan (ugh!)

What you might want to know:
- Recently changed oil (about 200 miles ago)
- It has a small oil leak.  Head gasket needs replacing, I just haven't gotten around to it because it's nothing major or concerning
- Clutch is finally starting to slip. It's driveable, but will need to be fixed - first time EVER !
- A/C works fine!
- Windows were tinted for Texas heat last year.
- Timing belt was changed at 120,000...have also done regular maintance such as master cylinder, etc.
- Bumper was replaced (although Auto Check shows no accidents, I was rear ended a couple of times - each time resulting in cosmetic damages but I wanted the bumpers replaced)

This Si is really a well built car and whoever buys it will have a long lasting vehicle. They don't make them like this anymore!

Email with questions.  My job can be all consuming during the week, so I'll do my best to answer as quickly as I can.  ALSO, I can arrange it so you can talk to the mechanic who has maintained it since 2006!  He's happy to answer all questions.

Car will be sold as is.  CASH ONLY.  Buyer is responsible for vehicle pick up or shipping.

Edmunds ranks the best used cars for 2013

Sun, 15 Sep 2013

When people ask us what car we would recommend for them, it's usually not easy to answer. To make a useful recommendation we must consider which of the numerous vehicle segments fits their needs best, and then choose one of the many vehicles offered in each segment. For some people, new cars don't meet their expectations of value, because they lose so much of it the moment they are purchased and driven off the dealer lot. For them, there's always the used-car market, where great deals can be found, but cars' histories of reliability and maintenance records - and perhaps that Certified Pre-Owned warranty - become ever-important factors playing into purchase choice.
To help out, Edmunds has done us the favor of assembling a list of the best used vehicles money can buy, covering model years 2006-2011, according to what it considers the most important criteria when shopping for used autos: reliability, safety, value and availability. That means unreliable, unsafe, super-expensive or limited-edition models don't appear on the list, but instead cars from each segment that are more likely to satisfy the general population.
There are some real goodies on the list, including but not limited to vehicles such as the capable Honda Fit, the cultish Honda Accord coupe (which can be had with a 240-horsepower V6 and a six-speed manual transmission some years), and the powerful Chevrolet Corvette. While Edmunds' choice of the Volvo C70 for best used convertible baffled us at first (not that it's a bad car), it redeemed itself by stating that the Mazda MX-5 still is an unofficial top choice if you don't require more than two seats.

Honda is first Japanese carmaker to be a net-exporter from US

Wed, 29 Jan 2014

Over the last decade or so, many foreign automakers have challenged the idea of what defines an "American car," but Honda took things a step further last year by exporting more cars out of the US than it imported in. Reuters is reporting that in 2013, a total of 108,705 Honda and Acura models were exported from the US with only 88,357 being shipped in. This gives Honda a net exporter status here, and makes it the first of such among the major Japanese automakers.
Honda's US imports have been dropping over the last five years while its exports have been steadily increasing. In 2008, the report indicates that Honda shipped 187,000 vehicles to the US and exported only 20,000, and even by 2012 Honda still favored imports with 136,000 imports and 74,000 exports. The article says that US-made Honda and Acura vehicles were exported to 50 countries with most ending up in Mexico, but the big news is that the Honda's US production set a record in 2013 with 1.3 million units built.

The cars that won't live to see 2015 [w/video]

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

Every year in the fast-paced automotive industry brings new models, but it also spells the end for some that have been less successful. This year will be no exception.
Japan's automakers make up the bulk of the list of discontinued models for the 2015 model year: Acura is replacing the TL and TSX with the new TLX sedan, Honda is bidding farewell to the Fit EV as the new Fit hatchback takes its place, and Nissan is saying goodbye to both the Cube and Murano CrossCabriolet. Both the Nissan Maxima and Mazda2 exit stage left before their upcoming replacements arrive, while Toyota is terminating the RAV4 EV and FJ Cruiser as well as the Scion xD, and Lexus IS C and IS F that are being effectively replaced by the new RC. Meanwhile Infiniti is finally discontinuing the G37 that was already replaced by the newer Q50.
From our own domestic automakers, Cadillac discontinues the CTS-V sedan and wagon as the new CTS rolls in, Chevy is canceling the mild-hybrid Eco versions of the Malibu and Impala sedans, and Chrysler is killing off the 200 convertible as the new 200 sedan arrives.
