1986 Honda Civic Si Original Survivor on 2040-cars
Orlando, Florida, United States
1986 Honda Civic Si. This is a survivor. No loud muffler, no intake kits, 100% stock. Owned by an old Navy veteran for many years. He was the father of a friend. Has a complete log book of all maintenance through the years. I recently put in a new battery, flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, right front axle, oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, and distributor o-ring to get it running with no quirks and no oil leaks. It runs out and drives good and last time I checked the A/C still worked good. The hood was previously rusty with surface only rust and it shows thru the paint. Previous owner had it painted at a terrible paint shop so the paint looks bad. There is absolutely ZERO rust in this car. I never drive it, just takes up space and eats money every month for insurance so I'm going to let it go. Per the sticker on the timing cover, its due a timing belt. I'd suggest doing one soon if you're not going to do an engine swap as soon as you buy it. If you have any questions, please ask. I'd be happy to answer them.
The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. On Apr-08-14 at 06:26:50 PDT, seller added the following information: 4/8/2014 9:26 am EST added picture of sunroof to back of claim in condition section that says "needs sunroof". Its plexiglass. |

UK auto magazine says this is the best car commercial of all time [w/videos]
Thu, 20 Dec 2012There have been many great car commercials over the years, but is it possible to define the best? Well, Ad Week recently took a crack at it by rating the top commercials of the year by looking at their view counts on YouTube, but Auto Express took a more democratic approach by putting the decision to a vote. Just after Thanksgiving, Auto Express came up with a list of the 20 popular commercials, and it tasked its readers with choosing the winner for the best car ad of all time. The winner? Honda's 2003 commercial for its then-new European Accord titled "The Cog."
While the ad never aired in the US, most car people have surely seen the impressive Rube Goldberg-style spot. In fact, the only commercial on this list that we saw on US television was the Volkswagen ad "The Force," but many of the others have become viral videos, including transforming and dancing Citroën C4. Of the 19 other commercials that vied for the title of best ad of all time, only the Ford Puma "Steve McQueen" commercial gave Honda a run for its advertising money.
Scroll down to watch Auto Express' top five commercial in order and to check out a press release, then let us know some of your favorite car commercials in Comments.
Former Honda CEOs chide current boss about quality
Thu, 13 Nov 2014Taking charge of a major corporation will never be without its challenges, and one of those - as Honda CEO Takanobu Ito is finding out - is filling the big shoes of those that came before. Ito's predecessors are apparently not pleased with what he's doing to the company, and are wasting no time in telling him so.
According to Reuters, two former Honda chiefs have recently visited Ito (pictured above with his predecessor Takeo Fukui) to talk to him about the Japanese automaker's quality issues, which they apparently regard as eroding the company's image. Nobuhiko Kawamoto, who served as CEO from 1990-98, reportedly came to Honda headquarters in Tokyo to deliver "stern words" to Ito last month. Kawamoto's immediate successor, Hiroyuki Yoshino, reportedly met with Ito under similar circumstances earlier this year.
Kawamoto and Yoshino are part of a larger group of former Honda executives who are concerned with the declining quality of the company's products under Ito's leadership. Where Honda once focused more on quality, collaborating more closely with parts suppliers, more recently the company has, in the eyes of those former executives at least, shifted its focus to quantity and to new technologies. That's what, the report alleges, has led to Honda recalling so many of its vehicles in recent years.
