1978 Honda Civic Cvcc Rare Hatchback Recaro Not Si Classic Original Retro on 2040-cars
Salem, Oregon, United States
Hi im selling this beautiful rare color 1978 honda civic,no rust, no holes, straight body, no major dents, few minor scratches on paint. The paint isnt perfect or anything, paint peeling in spots here and there, nothing major.Runs and drives awesome. Speedo stopped working its hooked up but it broke on the back of the cluster recently. Just had the valves adjusted today, oil change today, spark plugs changed today, and clutch and brakes bleed today.
The car has a slight grind if you shift into 3rd real fast, i notice if i double shift it like it should and go more into gear towards fifth it doesnt grind as often. It drives fine as is, but i just wanted to point that out. Gauges all work except for speedo. It has early recaro blue seats, has a rip on driver side from getting in and out, im sure you can recover them, passenger side is pretty good! no radio, it has back speakers, but i just used my bluetooth speaker to play music. It has an aftermarket old school honda steering wheel, not sure of brand, but it looks cool. 13" wheels with good tires still. It has an aftermarket coil, fuel pump, and other than that, its basically all stock and original. These things used to get 40 mpg, im not 100% what it gets now, but its good. This car gets alot of love from honda guys, its a 1st gen civic, so these will always have some sort of value to honda guys and car enthusiasts. This is a running and driving car! you can come fly in and drive it home. i wouldnt be afraid to drive this thing all across the country right now. It's not a show car, although its in very good shape for the year, itd be hard pressed to find another one in this good of shape around here unless you want to pay big bucks for it, you just dont see them very often and they are becoming more rare to find in good condition. any questions, feel free to call me 9712396989 also i can make a video of this running and driving if you want, feel free to text me and ill make you a video or take any pics you want. On Mar-30-14 at 10:25:14 PDT, seller added the following information: heres a short video of the car driving, sorry this isnt a great video or anything.... sorry ebay wont let me post it . text me for it |

Next Honda Ridgeline to eschew weird visuals, go mainstream?
Wed, 08 Oct 2014Last year, Honda gave us the first furtive glance at the next-generation Ridgeline with a shadowy photo of it in profile (above), and it promised that the pickup would "come to market in less than two years." That would have put the truck on track for a 2015 debut, but the automaker hasn't said anything more officially about the new model since then.
A new report from USA Today might shed some new light on the mysterious model. It claims that the next Ridgeline has more conventional pickup styling than the original model in a bid to conquest some buyers. You can get that feeling from the sketch, which appears to showing something far more traditional than the unorthodox original Ridgeline, whose odd tapering bedsides terminated in a double-hinged tailgate.
USA Today goes on to claim that the new Ridgeline will go on sale around late 2015 or early 2016. That's a bit later than expected, but fits with an earlier rumor.
Red Bull F1 denied access to Honda engines
Sun, Oct 25 2015There are four engine manufacturers in Formula 1: Ferrari, Honda, Mercedes-Benz, and Renault. Infiniti Red Bull Racing ended its marriage to Renault, got to the altar with Mercedes and then Mercedes backed out, couldn't even agree on a pre-nup with Ferrari, and Honda flat-out said, "No." At the moment that has left the four-time World Champions without an engine for next year, owner Dieter Mateschitz threatening to take his two teams and four cars out of the sport, and F1 honcho Bernie Ecclestone threatening to sue Mateschitz if he does. The Japanese company had turned down the idea because after a first year with some poor performances and a few public sour notes, it wants to get McLaren's cars running properly before it expands its operation. Now it seems some behind-the-scenes action of late has opened up channels between Red Bull and Honda, and the two are at least talking. Honda, though, still says such a deal is highly unlikely at best, and Red Bull says it will have something to say when something is done. It appears that McLaren chief Ron Dennis, however, has vetoed the idea. Ecclestone says Honda made a deal with the FIA that would allow Honda to supply two teams in its second year, but Honda gave Dennis veto rights over who the second team would be. For the same reason that Mercedes backed out and Ferrari only wanted to sell Red Bull year-old engines, Ecclestone says Dennis might view Red Bull as a competitor and doesn't want to risk two more cars getting in front of his own. If that's the case and Red Bull is going to remain in the sport, it might need to hit the flower shop and book a trip to Renault headquarters. Soon. Related Video:
Honda's first production jet takes off from North Carolina
Mon, 30 Jun 2014Plenty of automakers have backgrounds in aircraft manufacturing. BMW, Bristol, Mitsubishi, Saab and Spyker all started out in the airplane business. But Honda is going the opposite direction, expanding its automotive (not to mention motorcycle, ATV, marine engine and power equipment) business with the launch of the HondaJet. And that project has just taken a big step forward.
After starting production a year and a half ago, the Japanese industrial giant recently completed its first customer HondaJet, and has now taken that initial production aircraft to the skies for its landmark first flight. The aircraft left the production facility in Greensboro and took off on Friday morning from Piedmont Triad International Airport in North Carolina - the same state where the Wright Brothers undertook their first flight over a century ago.
The HondaJet undertook an 84-minute test flight, climbing to 15,500 feet and reaching a speed of 348 knots. That works out to 400 miles per hour - assuredly faster than any Honda (save for maybe a prototype for the same aircraft) has traveled before. The aircraft is designed to cruise at a maximum of 420 knots (483 mph) and reach a maximum altitude of 43,000 feet.
