New timing belt New water pump New alternator belt New cam seal New crank seal New tensioner New valve cover gasket New master cylinder New rear right axle New rear right wheel cylinder New left rear axle New left rear wheel cylinder New rear Pads/Shoes Valves adjusted & set timing Bleed Brake system New transmission fluid New coolant New engine oil & filter All the issues I know of: •Mechanic said head gasket was good, but said for me to make sure oil pan gasket wasn't leaking and needing a replacement, which is minor, expense-wise. I haven't really been able to tell if it's leaking or not. •Mechanic couldn't get rid of a squeaking noise on the left-front while braking. Front brake pads are very good, but have read of a common issue of a warped rotor so you may want to replace the rotor at some point, which isn't expensive, especially if done yourself (around $15+ on eBay for a new rotor). I can't guarantee it would fix that issue but that is my thought •Probably could use an alignment •Has grease around engine compartment. Mechanic said needs engine degreaser applied to clean up. It leaks a little grease/oil on to the ground and it appears to be from all the grease from the old bad leaking gaskets, etc., but am not sure •Requires pressing accelerator pedal lightly for engine to crank up. May be a sticking throttle valve, throttle cable needing adjusting or something else •Air conditioner plastic is cracked in a few areas but the A/C & Heat still work fine •Third brake light & rear defroster aren't working. It may be a wiring, fuse or relay issue •Horn doesn't work •Headlight bulbs sometimes need a minute or two to "warm up" & come on •Turn signals are hyper-blinking. Had put a temporary bulb in on right-front turn signal. Left side blinked normal; right was hyper. Then replaced right-front turn signal with correct bulb type & wattage & both sides started hyper-blinking •Right-side turn signal's plastics are cracked in spots; have clear tape over it •Plastic in interior are cracked in various parts •Seat belts don't like to roll back in & return to their position; sprayed "roller" with lubrication but didn't help much •Tachometer doesn't work. Was told the tach would need to be replaced inside the instrument cluster to work again •Looks like various rubber molding/weatherstripping is missing •Intermittent wipers sometimes don't wipe smoothly; new wiper blades •Body is in decent-to-fair condition, depending on the area. Clearcoat peeling in spots (mostly on the top) •Some of the plastic body panels have cracks in them & a part of the left side lower trim body panel is missing •Passenger keyhole was filled in so there is not a spot to put a key in on that side, but it still locks/unlocks •Interior looks good for the age but isn't perfect. Has vinyl seat covers over seats •CD/Radio (aftermarket, volume sporadically goes up & down; probably bad wiring. Includes an amp for the speakers) •I tried to make sure all exterior lighting/bulbs were working •Good tread on tires •Recent battery •Added some old-school, classy trim rings on the wheels recently •Will include original hubcaps I took off •Have clear title, car has been owned in Florida for most of its life, and only about three years in Tennessee $3500 |

Honda S660 set for Yokkaichi production next year
Tue, 06 May 2014Roadsters, you might argue, are best when they're small and nimble. If you're thinking of the Mazda MX-5 Miata, you're on the right track, but there have been even smaller ones: pint-sized, three-cylinder roadsters like the Daihatsu Copen, Suzuki Cappuccino and Smart Roadster. But the most iconic and enduring of them was surely the Honda Beat.
Designed by Pininfarina, the Beat was - not unlike the F40 was for Enzo Ferrari - the last car approved for production by company founder Soichiro Honda. It complied with Japan's strict Kei car regulations and packed a tiny, naturally aspirated 656 cc that produced just 63 horsepower. The cult classic ended production in 1996, but six months ago Honda hinted at a revival with the presentation of the S660 concept at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. Now it seems Honda - or Yachiyo, we should say - is gearing up to put it into production at the same factory that produced the Beat two decades ago.
That plant is the Yokkaichi factory, a facility owned by Yachiyo Industry Co., Ltd. that builds small cars on contract for Honda. It was slated for a major expansion a few years ago until Honda shifted some of its small car production to its own plant in Suzuka, but continues to build the N series of boxy, upright hatchbacks, as well as small commercial vehicles like the Life and Vamos lines. The reintroduction of a small roadster line to the factory's output sometime in 2015 will undoubtedly be a cause for celebration in Yokkaichi. For our part we can only hope that American Honda CEO Tetsuo Iwamura gets his way and manages to bring the S660 to the US in the near future.
Which car companies are creating new jobs in America?
Fri, Sep 22 2017Since January, automakers have announced investments totaling $9.5 billion in U.S. plants, creating or retaining more than 12,000 jobs. Some of those companies have yet to announce just how many jobs will be created given their investments, with the location of many of those jobs still to be determined. Specifically, the 4,000-job Toyota-Mazda joint venture plant still hasn't announced its location, with numerous states jockeying for it. Hyundai has plans to invest $1 billion but has not announced a jobs number yet. And likewise Ford is investing $1.2 billion in Michigan without specifying a number of jobs. Volvo this week announced plans to add a second line to its factory under construction in South Carolina, spending another $500 million and adding 2,500 jobs to the 2,000 it was already trying to fill. Then Thursday, Daimler announced a $1 billion expansion to its facility in Tuscaloosa, Ala., to produce EV batteries and electric SUVs, a move that will add 600 jobs to its hiring this year. Above, we've created a handy pie chart showing you which companies have announced new jobs and how many there will be. Refreshed 2014 Honda Civic Coupe to bow at SEMA
Fri, 25 Oct 2013Honda has announced plans to bring a refreshed, 2014 Honda Civic Coupe to the 2013 SEMA Show, set to kick off on November 5. Honda's struggles with the ninth-generation Civic have been widely publicized, and while the 2013 model year sedan has seen a significant overhaul, the two-door is now getting some additional enhancements for 2014.
Honda has released one teaser image of the Civic Si Coupe to go along with the announcement, but we can discern a few things. The Si Coupe now features a larger rear spoiler, along with a restyled, more aggressive rear bumper, complete with a diffuser. The taillights look smoked, and the wheels look larger than the current Si's alloys.
Besides those details, it looks like we'll be waiting until November 5 to see just what Honda has in store for the Civic. Take a look below for the full press release from Honda.
