Amazing Like New Collectible 1987 Honda Crx 31k Original Miles on 2040-cars
Sun City, Arizona, United States
This 1987 CRX has its original Polar While paint which still shines, with blue interior without any signs of wear and tear, and factory wheel covers. The car has just under 31K miles and looks good enough to be on a Honda showroom floor. It has factory ice cold AC, AM/FM Cass (not working, may be a fuse, but there is a factory replacement one included), 5 speed transmission that shifts perfectly, original perfect glass on car, dealer installed Honda louvers, dealer installed headlight covers to prevent rock chips (I've seen a lot of CRXs and owned a few and never seen these on another one), all lights and gauges working, all keys included, original owner's manual, dealer brochure, maintenance manual, lots of receipts, no cracks in the dash, the dash clock works and keeps time, CRX floor mats, near perfect shift knob, near perfect headliner, all interior lights work, and new lifts for rear hatch. The only change from stock is an after market exhaust had been installed at some point in the car's past, however the original is included. This car starts right up, idles perfectly, drives straight and shifts correctly and is just plain fun to run around in. Tires are almost new. Everything in the engine compartment is in working order and clean. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it around the world. Of course, it gets great MPGs. Looks as good or better in person as it does it photos. Please email me questions and if you need to talk, include your phone number. I've set the reserve $2K less than a similar CRX sold for less than a year ago and I'd argue it wasn't as nice as this one. The car has 3 or 4 flaws that I can find: Three are cracks in the plastic on the nose at bolt mounting points and one on the driver side front fender. They are not unsightly, but they are flaws. One wheel cover has some curb rash. There are some very small rock chips on front. This car is 27 years old and while it has been stored indoors and lovingly maintained, it's not perfect and there is no warranty expressed or implied. Please feel free to have the car inspected. I car store it in my garage for a few weeks while the winning bidder arranges for and pays for transportation and or shipping. Thank you. |

Continental Automotive recalls 5 million airbag control units
Thu, Feb 4 2016Takata isn't the only supplier having airbag problems. Rival manufacturer Continental Automotive Systems announced a recall of 5 million airbag control units fitted to vehicles from Honda, Fiat Chrysler Automotive, Mercedes-Benz, and even a certain Chrysler-based Volkswagen. This sweeping recall has actually been in progress for some time, although the exact scope is only now becoming evident. In October of 2015, Mercedes-Benz recalled 2008 and 2009 model year C- and GLK-Class vehicles because their Continental-made airbag control units could corrode. Such a condition could cause the airbags to deploy without cause or warning, or in the event of a crash, not deploy at all. You can read all about it in our post from last year. Now, Continental's recall is going wide. Alongside the already recalled C and GLK, you've already heard about the 2008 and 2009 Honda Accord airbag recall, which we reported on yesterday. Now, Fiat Chrysler is announcing the recall of the 2009 Dodge Journey, as well as the 2008 and 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan, Chrysler Town and Country, and their rebadged counterpart, the Volkswagen Routan. Yes, one manufacturer is recalling another manufacturer's vehicle. The models listed above only amount to about 580,000 vehicles out of 5 million bad airbag control units. And since Continental will notify manufacturers who will then issue their own recalls, it's extremely likely that more brands and vehicles will be ensnared. Stay tuned. Honda could halve its US lineup without crimping its sales much [w/video]
Sat, 18 May 2013Taking a detailed look at the Honda lineup in the US, it isn't hard to see the strength of some models and the weaknesses of others. A recent report on Autoline Daily points out that its five core models - the Accord, Civic, CR-V, Odyssey and Pilot - make up a full 93 percent of Honda's sales in the US. Through April, Honda has sold 419,798 vehicles, and 389,474 of them were from these core models; not to mention the fact that the Accord was the top-selling car in the US last month.
This means that Honda could technically cut six of its 11 models and only lose about 5,000 sales per month. Of course, this is just some data crunching and there is no reason to believe that Honda is planning to kill off any of its models in the near future. In fact, it seems to be committed to the Ridgeline, while Japanese-made models that may actually lose money for Honda still fill unique voids. Scroll down for the video report - fast-forward to the 1:43 mark for the Honda info.
Honda Civic Tourer sports forbidden facelift
Tue, 29 Jul 2014Following up on a sextet of spy photos from June, we now have another batch of images of the facelifted Euro-spec Honda Civic undergoing testing in the United Kingdom. There's a bit more sheetmetal to this particular prototype, though, as our spy photographers have caught the upcoming Tourer model (pronounced "wagon" among us Yanks).
Like the hatchback we showed you last month, the new Tourer benefits from the same set of styling tweaks inspired by the Civic Type R Concept from March's Geneva Motor Show. That means it boasts a revised front fascia, albeit with a more heavily camouflaged version of the grille shown in last month's photos. It's a similar story below, where the intakes on this long-roof model wear more disguise, yet look to be virtually identical to what we've already seen.
While the headlights still look to be a straight lift from last month's car, the more upright nature of the Tourer's tailgate demands a more subdued character. Gone are the thin, curvy LED taillights, and in their place sit significantly more substantial units (with conventional bulbs), although they boast none of the design chutzpah shown on our last round of spy photos. Our spies claim LED taillights will be available, noting that they simply aren't fitted to this particular prototype, a distinction that suggests this is a lower-end model.
