    4. JDM SiR Rear Seat, rear speaker covers & rear quarter trim panels (no rear seatbelts)
    5. New Tokico Illumina Shocks (5-way externally adjustable) with HKS Springs (1.0" lower than stock)
    6. Newer "90-91" Honda CRX OEM Taillight set (the preferred style)
    7. Alpine 9827 AM/FM CD MP3 stereo, 4 Pioneer speakers, hidden antenna system

All original body panels, paint, engine & transmission. There is no rust on the sunroof, or rear quarter panels. All important maintenance and restoration work has been done, except the paint clear coat (all original paint, car has never been repainted) has deteriorated on the hood and roof.

FYI: You may never find another CRX as nice as this, with thousands in top-end and Honda (OEM, EDM, JDM, Access, CR-X SiR) upgrades included and installed. The only real issue left to address on this car is paint (see image 6 & 7 for closeups). This car is adult owned, currently registered (paid up to june 2013) and driven regularly. It is prepared to go another 100-200K miles AS-IS, and then you could easily swap in a B16 or B18 motor for more hp and another 100K miles. Note: if you are poor and looking for a cheap crx, there are plenty to choose from on craigslist or ebay... please don't bother me with lowball offers. It doesn't take an expert to tell you that most crx's have been raced, crashed, salvaged, engine swapped, torn up inside, worn out and/or just plain driven into the ground. The survivors are becoming much harder to find. Unlike most used cars available today, this car is actually guaranteed to Increase in value. Ask your local CRX expert!

Feel free to inspect the vehicle (located in the Napa Valley, North Bay Area region, California) and ask questions. Please do not bid unless you have the ability and desire to complete the transaction. Nonrefundable (paypal or ca$h) deposit is required within one day after auction ends, or the transaction will be voided and the item will be relisted for sale. Full payment amount is due within ten days, or deposit will be forfeited. Buyer is responsible for any applicable sales tax, DMV new owner registration fees, smog testing fees, etc. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping of the vehicle, if applicable. No checks; i.e. ca$h or paypal only. I make every effort to present complete and accurate information, but it is nearly impossible to list every single little detail of a 20+ year old car. Vehicle will be sold "as-is, where-is" and without warranty.

Honda to dub Fit-based as HR-V for North America

    Sun, 06 Apr 2014

You may remember it as the Urban SUV (pictured above) from when it debuted in concept form at the Detroit Auto Show last year, or know it as the Vezel as the production version was unveiled for the Japanese Domestic Market at the 2014 Tokyo Motor Show. But when Honda starts exporting its new Fit-based crossover - or better yet, building it in Mexico for North American consumption - it will be called the HR-V.
This news comes courtesy of Honda enthusiast forum Temple of VTEC. When contacted by Autoblog, Honda spokesmen declined to comment on the veracity of the report, saying only that it would "announce the name in the near future," but the handle fits with what we know about Honda's history with compact crossovers. The previous HR-V (which was not available in the States) was a high-riding, squared-off crossover built between 1999 and 2006 and based on the Fit's predecessor, the Honda Logo.
While the HR-V moniker might not have name recognition in North America, it would in Europe where Honda also hopes its new crossover will find eager customers. It will also fit in nicely below the CR-V that will continue on as the HR-V's larger stablemate.

No S660 for US, but Honda wants sporty cars

    Mon, Aug 31 2015

Honda, best known lately for being a mainstream player rather than the brand that brought us the CRX Si, NSX, Integra Type-R, and S2000, apparently wants to builds sporty cars for the US again. With that in mind (or not), Honda has ruled out bringing the tiny, sporty S660 roadster across the Pacific. "I wouldn't put my chips on [the S660]," American Honda Executive Vice President John Mendel told Automotive News. At nearly 11.1 feet long, the S660 slots in between the 12.8-foot Mazda MX-5 Miata and the 8.8-foot Smart ForTwo. Yet Mendel says the tiny two-seater wouldn't work here. "When the practicalities of the market come in, and the car only so big, that might not be the best car for the US market," Mendel said. "It might be better for India or China or somewhere else." Honda is considering its options here in the US, though. As AN reports, after his takeover earlier this year, new CEO Takahiro Hachigo promised more sporting models, like the new, US-bound, 300-horsepower Civic Type R. And while it's no secret that Honda has filed patent drawings for a mid-engine model, Mendel offered little to indicate that it'd become a reality. Calling the project from Honda's Silicon Valley research and design facility a "design study," Mendel wouldn't answer AN when it asked whether this new model was successor to the S2000 or a more attainable, lower-powered NSX. He did, however, say his company was getting pressure from dealers over the lack of verve in the company's lineup. "They want anything in the sports car world," Mendel told AN. "They're going, 'Gimme a sports car.' They want a retractable hardtop; they want a high-horsepower $20,000 sports car. Because that's the nature of what they do." There you are, Honda. Your dealers want it, which means your consumers are probably are asking for it, and your CEO wants it, too. Make something happen.

Acura NSX will use Cosworth block, plus other neat tidbits

    Sat, Aug 15 2015

The blue NSX you see here was built just two weeks ago. Prototype number six, it rolled off Acura's newest assembly line in Ohio and was rushed out to the Monterey peninsula for various car week activities. We had a chance to sit down with several members of the NSX team to discuss the car, the long road from concept to production, and some interesting details. Below are some choice bits from our conversations. Acura is pretty proud of the fact that NSX version 2.0 was designed and is being built in the US. The new assembly line, called the Performance Manufacturing Center, is in Honda's hometown of Marysville, Ohio. While the line is brand new, the building has seen many uses over its lifetime, most recently as a warehouse facility. PMC staff numbers about 100, with 60 technical and 40 non-technical associates. The car uses parts sourced globally, and one of those sources is Cosworth. The engine blocks and heads come from the English firm and get assembled into twin-turbo powerhouses at Honda's nearby Anna, Ohio, engine plant. The Cosworth name is rarely associated with a bad engine, so we were geeked to hear the NSX's 550-plus-horsepower hybrid powertrain has good genes. Acura hasn't decided how many cars will come to the US each year, but supplies will be limited. We're told there is a total figure for global sales – basically anywhere Honda and Acura vehicles are sold – but they're not ready to divulge that number. Dealer allocation is also yet to be sorted out, although we're told that any dealer that has the necessary tools and equipment to service the new NSX will be able to sell them. Acura currently has 272 US dealers. The switch from the transverse engine originally planned to a longitudinal twin-turbo engine threw everyone involved for a loop. The designers had to lengthen their nearly finalized design, and the engineers working on the production process had to revise or redo much of their work. Though we've been waiting a while for the car since the concept first surfaced in 2012, it's pretty amazing to think that the car was engineered one and a half times and a new factory was built in about three years. But yeah, it's delayed, with series production now set to commence in the spring of 2016. One result of the switch to a longitudinal engine is a transmission hump in the cargo area aft of the engine. The hold is still sized to fit a bag of golf clubs, though it will be a tight fit.
