1991 Honda Crx Vtec B18c Ca Legal - Super Clean Restoration - Must See! on 2040-cars
Ventura, California, United States
Here is a rare opportunity for a Honda CRX fanatic! California car from Santa Barbara with ZERO rust. I purchased from a friend who is a cop in 2007, spent 4+ years doing all the work. This CRX has be meticulously and tastefully upgraded, restored and California BAR Smog legalized. 1995 JDM P72 B18C Acura Intergra GSR and S80 LSD transmission from H-motors-Online in Burbank, CA ($3138). Hasport black anodized mounts and Hasport cable to hydraulic transmission conversion. Engine swap and OEM AC system ($4676) done at J&C Imports in N. Hollywood by Paul their certified Honda technician. Integra rear disc brake conversion. All new DX to Si multi-point fuel injection wiring harness ($400) done by Tony at LOKWERKZ in El Monte, CA. Original pure black paint matched and painted by Tom Baca Customs ($3000), this was a full ‘glass out’ and block sanded repaint. Has zero door dings, zero dents and no ripples anywhere. TEIN SSP height adjustable coilovers ($1254). JDM CRX SiR OEM cat back exhaust from H-motors. Nearly flawless Si seats. CRX Si door panels with cloth CRX insert. All new OEM fit high quality carpet and floor mats. SKUNK2 ITR intake manifold, CA legal. JDM leather wrapped CRX steering wheel. Early 90’s Honda OEM CD stereo. JDM only ZC hood with DOHC bulge. JDM only Gathers speaker components including OEM stealth bass tubes. Have two car covers, one from California Customs that fits like a glove and an extremely rare OEM blue HONDA CRX cover that fits like a dress. Has OEM center armrest which was bid up to $370 on eBay but I won and now its in this CRX. Brand new catalytic converter $357 installed. The epic saga to get this CRX smog legal was not easy. Took 3 trips to the California State Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) and many repairs in-between to get the car right. But finally we got it and the CRX is now street and SMOG legal in California. Label is in the engine compartment stating that the CRX is to be smog tested as a 1995 Acura Integra 1.8. MUGEN MR-5 “Final Edition” Double Step 15” lip two-piece FORGED wheels with ALL the CAPS ($2150) with brand new DUNLOP tires ($475). I purchased dozens (if not hundreds) of BRAND NEW old stock OEM Honda parts from Majestic Honda in Rhode Island including; seat belts, gear shift knob, shift boot, side mirror, AC heater control, front and rear bumper covers, all new moulding trim and weather striping, mud guards, corner markers, parking brake handle, all 3 windshield wipers, door handles, hundreds of nuts, bolts, screws and clips. We even have a set of FRONT mud guards which are BRAND NEW, never mounted in the OEM box, SUPER rare. I have spent, not invested… $30,000 on this CRX, it truly one of the cleanest CRX’s in the country. I have a binder that has every receipt, there’s a lot. We have hundreds of photos showing all the work and progress. I am not in a hurry to sell but I am willing to, I want this car to go to someone who will continue to love it as much or more than I have. I am happy to answer any and all questions. Serious parties only. Will help coordinate shipping with you if you desire. |

Honda recalls select 2013 Accords over fuel tank neck
Fri, 19 Jul 2013Honda and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have announced a recall for 1,659 model-year 2013 Honda Accord vehicles. The affected Accords are Low-Emission Vehicle II rated cars manufactured between January 15 and April 5 of 2013.
The recall is pursuant to a fuel tank neck that might be out of specification, and the variance could result in the fuel pump not properly sealing with the fuel tank. As you might guess, a bad seal here could result in a gasoline leak, posing a fire risk. As of this writing, there have been no reports of fires because of this problem.
Honda will reach out to owners of affected 2013 Accords, directing dealers to replace the cars' fuel tank, nut and O-ring gasket. Expect the notifications when the recall begins in earnest on August 1. FInd the full NHTSA press release below.
How Seinfeld hopes he'll help industry make better car commercials [w/video]
Fri, 04 Oct 2013Bloomberg has a fascinating look into a web series that continues to be a favorite around the Autoblog offices - Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. The series, which is in its second season, sees the affable comedian picking up fellow comedians in a range of interesting cars, and having conversations with them over the drive and a cup of joe.
The piece by Bloomberg dives into the development of the series, as well as Seinfeld's tie-up with Acura, which saw the Honda-owned brand begin sponsorship this season. That relationship started not with his web series, though, but with a Super Bowl ad, alongside fellow funnyman and car enthusiast Jay Leno, that saw them competing over a new Acura NSX. Have a click over to Bloomberg for an entertaining piece that looks beyond the YouTube series. We've also wrangled Seinfeld's original Super Bowl ad for the Acura NSX, which you can see below.
Honda wins Commercial of the Decade, but not for the ad you think [w/VIDEO]
Fri, 18 Dec 2009Honda's Commercial of the Decade: "Grrr" - Click above to watch video
The mad men at Adweek recently voted for the Commercial of the Decade (Super Bowl commercials not included) and Honda took top honors over memorable ads from the last ten years by companies like Nike, Budweiser and Sony. That's not a big surprise considering Honda often puts a huge amount of effort into its on-air spots. However, the Japanese automaker didn't win for the commercial you might have expected: "Cog." Though Honda's famous commercial that breaks down a European Accord Tourer into a Rube Goldberg-esque machine was also a finalist, it was beaten by another Honda commercial called "Grrr" that's narrated by Garrison Keillor of all people. You've probably never seen it, but you can after the jump.
Volkswagen also made the list of finalists, but the particular ad chosen out of all the comical VW ads we've seen was unexpected as well. Most surprising carmaker with a commercial in the finals: Saturn. Who knew...
