No Reserve 98 Honda Cr-v Set Up With Roadmaster Tow Bar And Lights, Ready To Tow on 2040-cars
Aplington, Iowa, United States
Up for sale is my 1998 Honda CR-V with a Roadmaster Stowmaster 5000 tow bar and magnetic lights on it. It is ready to hook up and tow behind whatever you are driving. The only reason that I am selling it is because I have bought a different tow car and I don't need this one also.
This CR-V has 245816 for miles on the odometer. It still runs decent, but like any other car that has almost a quarter of a million miles on it, it doesn't run perfectly and has some other issues that I will try to list to the best of my ability. The tires are Goodyear Viva 2's that I had put on about 6 or 7 months ago. I'm guessing that they are about 1/2 tread. I have recently put alot of new parts in it as it decided to quit running on me so I am also going to be listing those as well.
In May-June on this year is when I put a bunch of new parts in it including ignition coil, timing belt, spark plugs and wires, fuel pump, fuel filter, catylitic converter, injectors, radiator, water pump and I'm probably missing a few others as well. I put all of these parts in and come to find out, the only real problem was the coil went bad and when I replaced it, I had the plug wires installed in the wrong spots so it was missing. All these parts were about $1000 and I put them in myself. The front wheel bearings were replaced about a year ago.
Other then that, it has been a decent car to have for the last 4 years. It gets about 24-27 mpg. The power windows work as they are supposed to but the auto-down feature on the drivers window, doesn't work. The rear windshield wiper doesn't work either. The clutch still seems like it works fine and I haven't had any problem with it. The ABS light is on in the dash. It has been on ever since I have had the car. There is some rust spots in the typical areas (behind the wheels and bottom of the doors). There is a small dent on the roof. The rear hatch handle sticks when you open it. It probably just needs to be lubed up. It lower rear side marker light on the drivers side is gone because it fell off when I blew a tire. There is a screw holding the back bumper cover on because of that same blown tire. The whole car needs a good cleaning.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask before you bid and I will answer them the best I can. This car is for sale locally for $2800/obo so I have the right to end the auction early if it sells. I require a deposit of $500 via paypal within 48 hours of the auction ending and the rest paid in cash, paypal or credit card within 7 days of the auction ending. I will hold it for up to 30 days as long as it is paid in full. |

2015 Honda Civic Type R to sire next-gen CR-Z?
Mon, 16 Sep 2013Salt shakers at the ready, boys and girls. There's a rumor out of Australia claiming the next Honda CR-Z will be based on the forthcoming 276-horsepower, turbocharged Civic Type R. Apparently Honda's research and development bigwigs have been unnerved by the reception of the Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ twins and are eager to return fire.
Now, don't get too excited - Honda isn't following the Volkswagen model of offering virtually unchanged mechanicals in a different bodyshell (Beetle Turbo and GTI, for example). Instead, the report says the future CR-Z will retain its hybrid powertrain, albeit with a serious kick in the pants. A prototype is said to already be zipping around Japan with a turbocharged, direct-injected, 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine and the current CR-Z's electric motor and battery pack. With a reported 221 horsepower mated up to a seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission (say buh-bye to the CVT and six-speed manual) and the next-gen Civic platform underneath, the rumored CR-Z has all the makings of a hot hatch riot.
Of course, this all sounds wonderful. This is also the point where you should be enjoying that salt. We really like the idea of a properly hot CR-Z that can compete with John Cooper Works Mini models and the new Ford Fiesta ST, but the three-door hybrid has been such a slow seller for Honda in the US that it might not field a second generation here, no matter how improved it might be. Let us know what you think of an amped-up CR-Z in the comments. Is it a good idea, or is this one Honda model that's just too far gone?
McLaren MP4-30 marks Honda's hotly anticipated F1 return
Thu, Jan 29 2015McLaren's Formula One fortunes have drastically dropped in performance over the past couple of seasons. The Formula One team with a dozen Drivers' Championships, eight Constructors' Titles and 182 grand prix victories to its name hasn't won a race since 2012, and finished the past two seasons down in fifth place. But now it begins a new era – or rather, restarts one. And this is the machine that's kicking it all off. After a 23-year parting of ways, McLaren has brought Honda back onto the grid for this season, and will be the only team running the Japanese automaker's brand-new RA615H turbocharged hybrid power unit. Both parties are undoubtedly hoping the rekindled partnership will bring them back to the winning days of the late Eighties when Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost memorably drove their equipment to four consecutive World Championships. Largely an evolution of last season's Mercedes-powered MP4-29, the new chassis features a new front-end design to comply with the latest adjustment to the regulations from the FIA, and also incorporates a slimmer rear end built around the new Honda engine and gearbox. It also features a revised livery that adds more black to the red and silver color scheme, and does without a title partner for the time being, but includes the logos of sponsors Mobil1, SAP, TAG Heuer, Johnnie Walker, Hilton, CNN and KPMG, as well as that of Honda. Though this season will likely be more of a transition and development year for McLaren and Honda, all eyes will surely be fixed on the team to see how the new MP4-30 will fare. Fortunately, they've lined up a compelling roster of drivers, lead by former World Champions Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button. McLAREN-HONDA BEGINS NEW ERA WITH MP4-30 #McLarenHonda #MakeHistory McLaren-Honda – the name evokes stirring memories of the past; of Ayrton Senna battling Alain Prost for supremacy; of classic red and white machines dominating for season upon season; of an iconic team writing one of the defining chapters in the motor racing history books. Reuniting such an illustrious partnership brings with it the heavy weight of expectation, but all at McLaren and Honda are working to write a fresh chapter in Formula 1, one that respectfully nods to the past, but boldly looks to the horizon. Today's reveal of the new McLaren-Honda MP4-30 – McLaren's first Honda-powered car for 23 years – speaks volumes about the progressive nature of both companies.
Honda releases H2O brand bottled water to promote FCX Clarity
Thu, May 15 2014Remember when Hollywood stars Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds) and Joshua Jackson (Fringe) took a Mercedes-Benz B-Class F-Cell into Death Valley and "survived" by drinking water from the car's tailpipe? Honda has taken that idea into movie theaters in Australia. The idea, but not fuel cell water itself. Honda has created a bottled water brande called H2O, and it's meant to promote the hydrogen-powered Honda FCX Clarity as part of Honda's "clever thinking" campaign. The headline message, just as it was for Mercedes, is that a hydrogen fuel cell car emits nothing but water vapor, which is actually safe to drink. To give movie fans a hands-on experience, Honda Australia filled a number of Palace Cinemas movie theaters with free disposable bottles of H2O water. Of course, since there are only a handful of FCX Clarity vehicles in the world today and it would take a lot of driving to fill up that many bottles, Honda admits that, "if you're holding a bottle of our specially produced H2O water in your hand right now, you've been drinking plain old spring water. If you want to taste the real thing, you'll have to travel to California, Japan or the UK where the FCX is currently available." Of course, why anyone would want to associate themselves with the unending waste that is bottle water, a product that has not proven itself to be any better than good tap water, is beyond us. But that's what Honda is doing, as you can see in the promotional video about the stunt below. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences.
