1997 Honda Cr-v 4wd on 2040-cars
Henderson, North Carolina, United States
This is a very nice Honda CR-V. Automatic with all power options. We purchased it in 2012. The original label that was affixed to car, along with owners manual, is still in glove-box. Clear title in hand. This has been professionally serviced & maintained; this does have minor cosmetic issues, such as oxidation on hood, but no cosmetic issues we'd consider major. Inside door handle on drivers side loose; & one latch for fold down seat has been repaired. Headrests are removable. Front & back wipers work well, no issues. Decent tread on tires, but there is an occasional wooble; mechanic said tires should be rotated or replaced. After market stereo. 4 door with rear swing door. Comes with the jack & original picnic table. No leaks, hot heat, cool air conditioning. We just had oil changed. This has never left anyone stranded, & we consider this safe & reliable. Clean & very comfortable. Non-smoking owners. We bought this as an extra vehicle; we're selling only due to a job change that will take us across country; we will only need one car. Please don't hesitate to ask questions through ebay messaging! We are about an hour away from Raleigh NC, or two hours away from Richmond VA. No warranty expressed or implied. Please feel free to check car fax, come by & test drive it, have a mechanic look at it. $300 non-refundable deposit due within 24 hours of auction end via paypal. Car pickup with balance due within 5 days of auction end ~ CASH ONLY UPON PICKUP. This is offered locally, as well, & we reserve the right to end auction if our asking price is met. Buyer will be responsible for all fees including shipping; we will be happy to work with you to make this a smooth transition! On a personal note... In May 2005, our Grandson was kidnapped. He was recovered in 2006. We know how difficult it can be when a loved one is missing. We send out our love & prayers to those searching, & leave this candle for those missing, in hopes its light will help guide them home. Honda reveals new Civic hatch for WTCC
Tue, 03 Dec 2013If you thought the Honda Civic Type R prototype we drove in Japan looked cool, and that the Civic Tourer that Honda will race in the British Touring Car Championship next year looks even cooler, just take a look at this.
Possibly the ultimate race-spec Civic, this is the car Honda will field next year in the World Touring Car Championship. Like the Type R prototype (but unlike the BTCC-spec wagon) the WTCC challenger takes the form of Honda's latest Euro-spec Civic five-door hatchback.
It's the car with which Honda intends to defend its title and capture the driver's title in next year's championship. It'll face a tough challenge from the new Citroën team headlined by Sebastien Loeb in the new C-Elysee, not to mention the rest of the grid. Fortunately, Honda is entering a whole mess of these Civics in the series, with former champion Gabriele Tarquini and former F1 driver Tiago Monteiro driving the works entries (hence the mixed "Gabriago" tag on the window) and another pair to be entered by privateer teams.
Honda gunning for world's longest Rose Parade float
Thu, 26 Dec 2013Honda has participated in the annual Rose Parade for the past 53 years and returns this year as the presenting sponsor for the fourth time running. But it's not satisfied merely putting its name on the event; Honda intends to lead from the front with what promises to be the longest float in the parade's long history.
The float, previewed in the rendering above, will measure 274 feet long, as tall as 30 feet high, as wide as 18 feet and weighing a whopping 50 tons with 8,980 flowers covering its surface. The train will be led by a locomotive designed to mimic the Acura NSX, with Asimo at the wheel. The second car in the train showcases a Honda engine, followed by a robotic arm, and, for the first time in the parade's history, a pair of 30-foot LED monitors displaying images of spectators lining the parade route. A caboose inspired by the Honda Jet will pick up the rear.
Oh, and in case you're wondering just who Honda will be knocking off the record books with its 274-foot train of roses, that would be... also Honda. The Japanese company set the record in 2005 with a 207-foot float. Scope out the details in the press release below and click the image above to view in high resolution.
Honda names first woman, foreigner to its board of directors
Mon, 24 Feb 2014General Motors may have made headlines when it recently appointed the industry's first female CEO, but Honda has long lagged woefully behind the times when it comes to the diversity of its top management. In fact, its entire board has until now been composed entirely of Japanese men, with not a foreigner or a woman in sight. But as Reuters reports, that's all changing with the nominations to its latest board.
The slate of new directors named to Honda's board includes one Hideko Kunii, a gender-equality advocate and engineering professor from the Shibaura Institute of Technology. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Kunii spent the bulk of her career at Japanese electronic imaging company Ricoh. Alongside Kunii, Honda has also named Tomoko Mizoguchi to the board as responsible for the company's South American operations, making him the first foreigner to serve on the company's board of directors. (Well, almost: Mizoguchi was born in Brazil, but of Japanese ancestry.)
The appointments follow the recent switch Honda made in its official language policy from Japanese to English, signaling a shift in outlook for a company that has long stuck to traditional Japanese business models. Honda was the first of the major Japanese automakers to begin manufacturing in the United States, and has long relied on hiring local managers to run its regional operations around the world. It has, however, resisted placing foreigners on its board of directors until now, relying instead on senior male managers promoted from within its ranks to serve on its board. This in comparison to Toyota, which has seven foreigners and one woman on its 68-member board of directors, and Nissan, which has fifteen foreigners (including its chief executive) and one woman on its 58-member board.
