Honda Accord 1984 4 Door Light Blue Runs on 2040-cars
Rochester, Indiana, United States
Up for auction here is a Honda Accord 1984, The first year they made Accords I believe. This car runs great and has always been a reliable second car to me.
198,086 is the mileage on the car body, the motor has been changed and has less miles, I think around 120,000 miles on the motor. It really runs good, the motor purrs like a kitten. Known Issues: Little rusty, as it has been an Indiana car. mostly around the bottom of the doors, in that area and around the wheel wells. The hood is just dirty in the picture, it cleans up nice. 1. It needs a new gas tank or the gas tank repaired. it has a slight leak, I can only put 10-15 dollars in at a time or it leeks slowly. 2. The back wheels are now locked up, I assume from sitting and not being driven much. They will not turn as of right now. Runs great other than those 2 issues that need fix or looked at. It just needs some good ol' TLC. Some newer stuff: Has 4 matching Bridgestone tires with plenty of tread, the tires are very nice and not that old. I just put a new battery in it which I will maybe take back if the buyer does not need it. I also put new windshield wiper blades on it which I will leave there. Other than the known issues listed above, this car runs great, it is old but it will get you there, and with good gas mileage, it gets around 32 mpg, highway. I just drove this car to Florida and back about a year ago and it ran great the entire trip. That is where I picked up the gas leek though, from hitting something in the road around Louisville on the way home. Had the leek patched and it got me home safe. Have not drove it much since and now the back wheels need some attention. Payment for and pickup of the vehicle is expected within 7 days of auction ending. Buyer must pick up the vehicle, title is clear and ready to go. |

Honda Performance Development reveals new ARX-04b LMP2 coupe
Fri, 11 Apr 2014Make no mistake about it: Honda is big in racing. It was the first Japanese automaker to enter Formula One, remains the most successful and is set to return as an engine supplier next season. It's powered more IndyCar race winners and champions than any other manufacturer, hands down. Honda has won races and titles in Super GT, WTCC, even motorcycle racing. Just about everything this side of NASCAR, really. And that includes endurance sports car racing.
In fact Honda Performance Development prototypes claimed over 70 victories and numerous titles in the American Le Mans Series, and took the first LMP2 title in the FIA World Endurance Championship. And with sportscar racing in the US now grouped together into the United SportsCar Championship, Honda is back with a new chassis design.
Called the ARX-04b, it's Honda's first closed-cockpit LMP2. Like previous LMP2 and IndyCar projects, it's a joint development between HPD and Wirth Research, and packs Honda's HR28TT engine - a 2.8-liter twin-turbo V6 based on (and using many of the same components as) the J35 engine you'd find in a contemporary Acura. Designed to exceed the latest safety regulations, the ARX-04b features low-drag bodywork, quick-change front and rear panels, the same locking fuel filler system that Honda pioneered for Indy, top-exit exhaust to meet noise regulations, a 75-liter fuel tank and a gearbox that can easily be optimized for individual circuits.
2015 Fit Kit is the perfect DIY car from Honda
Mon, 31 Mar 2014Ah... let the April Fools' Day automotive jokes begin. Honda is kicking things off, following up on last year's Honda Hair joke with a prank video featuring the 2015 Honda Fit.
It's called the Fit Kit, and as you might guess, it's a way to build your own version of the redesigned hatchback. There are 180,000 mechanical parts in the kit - some delivered by drone - but that doesn't seem at all daunting to the pair of obnoxious, self-described tinkerers that star in the Fit Kit ad.
Honestly, the video is pretty entertaining, with some biting satire of the DIY movement and its attendant cadre of mustachioed hipsters. Scroll down and have a look at both the video and the Fit Kit press release from Honda.
Honda Accord, Civic are America's most stolen cars
Tue, 20 Aug 2013The National Insurance Crime Bureau has released its latest Hot Wheels study on the most popular stolen cars and trucks for 2012. The study has changed a bit from past years, with the new findings listing only the make and model of each vehicle, while taking into account all model years in its totals. Previous iterations only focused on the most stolen vehicles of a particular model year, with that make and model not appearing anywhere else on the list so as not to appear to call out a particular car. Confusing, eh? Said another way, in previous studies, if the three most stolen vehicles were the 2006, 2007 and 2008 Belchfire Turbo from Fictitious Motors, only the model year with the highest number of thefts would make the list.
The new study takes all model years into consideration while breaking down the number of vehicles stolen per model year in a full, in-depth report. Separately, the NICB is also listing the top 25 new vehicles stolen in 2012. That list is limited exclusively to model year 2012 entries.
Honda took the top two spots in the most stolen vehicles list, with 58,596 Accord models stolen and 47,037 Civic models stolen. The study is interesting, though, in that the most recent model year for the Accord is 1997, while the most recent the Civic is 2000. In fact, Hondas from 1990 to 2000 make up 16 of the top 20 cars stolen in 2012, according to the NICB. Compare that with the MY2012 list, where Honda's vehicles are eleventh and fifteenth, and it looks like the Japanese brand has been beefing up its theft control.
