I purchased this car new at the end of 2007. Is in excellent condition, has always been garage kept, and has never had body damage. It was tapped in the rear end in July 2010 and I took the car to Honda for inspection. There was zero damage and no repair required. I have kept all of the service up to date and am very particular about where I park.

EVERYTHING on the car works just as it did when it was new and the carpet has zero wear as I put large black rubber mats in it the day I purchased it. The interior is super clean, has new worn areas, no tears, no loose stitching, and the back seat has been used no more that five times total. It has had no smoking or pets in the car. It also comes with a transferrable extended warranty that is good through July 2015 or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first).

I do mainly highway driving and the car averages 26 mpg. I do use it as a dialy driver so have estimated the miles at 74,000 although the odometer photo shows less miles.

It is loaded with option - please see the equipment list in the photos for all the options - here are a few highlights

  • V6 engine with good power but keeps decent fuel economy
  • Front and Rear Disc Brakes (recent brakes)
  • Tires were recently replaced
  • Leather Interior
  • One-touch Power Moonroof
  • XM Satellite Radio
  • Dual Zone Automatic Climate control with Air Filtration System
  • Driver's 8-way Power Seat with Power Adjustable Lumbar Support
  • Front Passenger's 4-way Power Seat
  • Heated Front Seats
  • Power Windows and Door Locks
  • Cruise Control
  • Automatic Dimming Rearview Mirror
So what is wrong with the car?
There is a very small ding (no paint damage) on the back drivers door which can be seen if the lighting is just right.
The front end has normal road wear - a few very small rock chips in the paint and wear under the front bumper (see the photos).
The leather on the center console is coming unglued but is not ripped - it can be glue back down.

Honda China struggling with high-end Accord because Chinese covet German cars, too

Sun, 06 Jul 2014

It's not particularly unusual to see cheap cars in China, or those with designs stolen from foreign competitors, but increasingly the best-selling vehicles there would be very recognizable to just about any auto enthusiast. There appears to be one fact of life whether looking at car buyers in Sacramento, Stuttgart or Shanghai: People who can afford to buy premium cars often look first at the Germans.
Honda recently thought that it could challenge this perceived wisdom by including a premium Accord in the ninth-generation sedan's Chinese launch last year. The market-exclusive version was priced against the Audi A4. The venture failed, miserably.
According to Automotive News China, sales for the new Accord in China are down 37 percent through May of this year. Honda's overall sales are actually up by about 11 percent there on the strength of smaller, less profitable models. However, the company is still off its forecast 19-percent rise.

Honda builds up new Civic Type R ahead of Geneva debut

Wed, Feb 11 2015

It's been a long time coming, but it's almost here. Or almost there, we should say, because it sadly won't be coming (at least in this form) to the United States. We're talking, of course, about the new Honda Civic Type R – a hot hatch we've been anticipating for about a year and a half now through a series of prototypes and concept cars. It's finally set to bow just weeks from now, in final production form, at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. But before it does, Honda is giving us yet another taste of what to expect with a trio of teaser images and some juicy details. That Honda's new hot hatch would be powered by its new 2.0-liter turbo four we already knew, but now the Japanese automaker is telling us that it'll produce enough juice to propel the Euro-spec pocket rocket up to a top speed of 167 miles per hour. In a hatchback. That feat will be enabled in large part by its advanced aerodynamics, elements of which we can begin to see from the teaser images – including a big front splitter, deep side skirts, a giant rear wing and an almost completely flat underbody. It'll also be kept in check by a set of Brembo brakes with 13.8-inch drilled discs clamped by four-piston calipers up front and packed into a unique set of 19-inch alloys. It'll all be wrapped for the show stand in classic Japanese racing white, and we're even given a glimpse inside the cabin, where we can see red-glowing instruments, a red center marker at the top of the steering rim and that +R button we were promised. It's all shaping up to be a rather tempting package indeed, but will have to fend off the likes of the new Ford Focus RS and ever-improving challengers from the likes of Renault and Seat to dominate the European hot hatch scene. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to see in what form Honda brings the fight to America, too.

Honda returning to F1 as McLaren partner

Thu, 16 May 2013

Honda must really love Formula One racing, as evidenced by today's announcement that the Japanese automaker is returning to the world's most popular motorsport for the fifth time in its history. Honda has entered into a team partnership with McLaren to develop and manufacture power systems - the engine and energy recovery system - for the 2015 F1 season. McLaren will be in charge of chassis development and running the day-to-day operations of this newly formed team, which will be called McLaren Honda.
Honda says its decision to reenter F1 racing had to do with new regulations for the 2014 season that require cars to be powered by a 1.6-liter direct-injection turbocharged V6 engine paired with an energy recovery system. Apparently the chance to develop this particular powertrain for F1 racing was too enticing for Honda to pass up, which suggests it has bigger plans for the knowledge learned while developing these systems beyond just winning races.
As mentioned, this is Honda's fifth foray into F1 racing, the first being back in 1964 when it participated as its own team through 1968. Its longest stint came from 1983-1992 as an engine supplier, during which time it partnered with many teams, including McLaren, and won six Constructor Championships. Honda then returned from 2000-2005 as an engine supplier for British American Racing (BAR) before buying that team outright and running it as Honda Racing from 2006-2008. Then the global economic crisis hit. Honda's return to the sport will surely be welcomed by fans as its partnership with McLaren should produce a formidable team. It's a strong signal that the company has returned to health after a few tumultuous years, and hopefully its rediscovered motorsports mojo will help yield more passionately engineered street cars.
