Great little Honda Accord EX. Auto 4-cylinder - great gas mileage! Tan leather with wood trim. BRAND NEW tires. Excellent interior & mechanical. Exterior has one small ding/dent in the front bumper (see pics).  Car has been repainted after repairing hail damage - none noticeable now, but it does now need a nice paint job to make it excellent all around. Our daughter bought this car for us when she came into some money to replace a car we were leasing.  LOVED driving it, but we prefer BMWs and we just bought a similar vintage BMW 3-series.  And we just don't need three cars. We put very few miles on our cars, so this one still has only 54,151 miles. Meaning this car should continue to run great for many years, even if you put more than 4k miles per year as we do.

This car runs great - it is a very smooth ride and it handles wonderfully. If you are familiar with Hondas, that should not surprise you.

It does not have NAV, a cold weather package or MP3 input. (If that year even had that as an option.) It DOES have power windows, sunroof, etc. - except, oddly, power seats but I found I didn't mind that. AC runs good and cold, and the weather down here in Columbia, South Carolina really puts that to the test!  Wood grain dash and door trim is in great condition, as is leather. New mats.  Multi-changer CD player.

I will be adding a better picture of the dash readout showing odometer, as I notice you cannot read the 54,151 mileage clearly. Also, email if you want a picture of the sunroof, as I didn't think to take that one.

This is an economical, fun to drive, reliable, great family car with really low mileage.  Please see the photos and email with any questions!

The car is located in Columbia, SC.

Thanks!

Honda stretches new Shuttle to Fit the Japanese market

Tue, Apr 21 2015

While the Honda Odyssey that we get here in North America may be getting bigger with each passing generation, the minivans Honda offers in its home market are still pretty small. Like the new Shuttle. Set to be unveiled in full next month, the new Shuttle is a compact minivan that looks like a longer version of the Fit hatchback we get over here. In fact previous versions were marketed as the Fit Shuttle, but the little hatchback's handle seems to have been dropped from this latest model. It's still a five-seater, but with extra cargo capacity including under-floor storage, all in a compact, Tokyo-friendly form. It's not as small as a Kei car – the miniature vehicle segment which Honda covers with its N series – but would likely be far too small to suit the typical American family. Technical details are still forthcoming, but the new Shuttle will be available with a 1.5-liter direct-injection inline-four or a hybrid powertrain, just like the Fit. But unlike the little hatchback we know, it will also be available with all-wheel drive.

Honda issues bizarre non-recall on Odyssey over badge placement

Wed, 02 Oct 2013

Without looking under the hood or at a vehicle history report, one of the easiest way to tell if a car has had body work done is to check the location and placement of the exterior badges. A crooked, misplaced or missing badge can be a telltale sign that there has been some sort of body or paint work. For this reason, Honda is suggesting that some owners of the 2014 Odyssey take their vans into the dealership for a little rebadging.
The topic was brought to light after Consumer Reports received a notice from Honda saying that the "Odyssey" badge on its test vehicle was incorrectly installed at the factory. The badge is supposed to go on the driver's side of the liftgate (as shown above), but the customer vehicles had it placed on the passenger side of the car. Not a huge deal unless an owner is trying to sell the vehicle and the improperly installed badge leads potential owners into believing the vehicle may have been damaged in some way. Here's what Honda said in its letter:
On some 2013 Odyssey vehicles, the Odyssey emblem was incorrectly installed on the passenger's side of the rear tailgate. The emblem should be installed on the drivers' side of the rear tailgate. American Honda Motor Company highly recommends that you participate in this Product Update. The placement of the emblem may indicate that the vehicle has had repairs performed that are consistent with it being in a crash. This could affect the resale value of the vehicle.

Honda to recall 1.1 million U.S. vehicles to re-replace Takata airbags

Tue, Mar 12 2019

Honda said on Tuesday it would recall about 1.1 million Honda and Acura vehicles in the United States to re-replace defective Takata airbags on the driver's side. The company said it was aware of one injury linked to the defect that may have caused the airbag to rupture when it was deployed in a crash. The vehicles involved in the recall were previously repaired using specific Takata desiccated replacement inflators (PSDI-5D) or entire replacement airbag modules containing these inflators. "Those replacement inflators," Honda said in a statement, "are now deemed defective." Free repairs of the recalled cars would begin immediately in the United States with replacement parts made by alternate suppliers, Honda said. Honda became aware of the issue after a Honda Odyssey crash, where the front airbag deployed and injured the driver's arm. An investigation later showed that manufacturing issues at Takata's Mexico facility introduced excessive moisture into the inflator during assembly, leading to the problem. The total number of recalled inflators is now about 21 million in about 12.9 million Honda and Acura vehicles that have been subject to recall for replacing Takata front airbag inflators in the United States, the company said. Automakers in the United States repaired more than 7.2 million defective Takata air bag inflators in 2018, as companies have ramped up efforts to track down parts in need of replacement.
