My friends father is a physician. He purchased this car as a certified used vehicle from a Honda dealership with 15,000miles on it.
He maintained it meticulously. At 160,000miles the transmission and engine were replaced. He was driving up a rocky road and hit the undercarriage. The oil pan was damaged and the engine was starved of oil. A new engine was installed that had only 47,000miles on it. The transmission that was installed had only 30,000mile on it. Current mileage on chassis/body is 250,000. Miles on engine and drivetrain is approximately 130,000miles. Oil has been changed religiously.

Not too long ago the physician gave the car to his son who did not drive it very much, but also did not take very good care of it. The inside of the car needs to be cleaned well. It is not wrecked, but definitely needs a good detailing. The son stopped driving the car because it failed inspection for a loose ball joint. There is also a check engine light on which pulls a code for an evap valve. These are both relatively straight forward fixes.

The tires on the car will need to be replaced. The rear brakes need to be freshened up, also the two front windows do not go up or down. They will need to be repaired. Unfortunately this one of the few common problems with these cars. Lastly, the radio works, but the LCD is very dim. This is an issue Honda is aware of and offered assistance to vehicles still under warranty. You could have it fixed. I do not know exactly what that entails.

This car was involved in a minor fender bender that damaged the front bumper skin. It was replaced with an OEM one, but was not painted. There is a spot on the hood where the paint was damaged and it has started to rust. This can easily be touched up. The rest of the car is is solid.

I have a stack of maintenance records and receipts for the car.

I only have one key for this car. I believe to get a second you have to go to a dealer. I bought this car from my friend, who is the son of the physician. I was going to clean it up and give it to my girlfriend, but she has a dog and travels a lot so were going to try to find her a station wagon instead.

I take eBay very seriously. Please ask questions if you have any prior to bidding. I will do my very best to help you however I can.

This car is very solid. Starts, runs, and drives well. The title is clean, clear and in my name.

Good luck!

Honda wins Commercial of the Decade, but not for the ad you think [w/VIDEO]

Honda's Commercial of the Decade: "Grrr" - Click above to watch video
The mad men at Adweek recently voted for the Commercial of the Decade (Super Bowl commercials not included) and Honda took top honors over memorable ads from the last ten years by companies like Nike, Budweiser and Sony. That's not a big surprise considering Honda often puts a huge amount of effort into its on-air spots. However, the Japanese automaker didn't win for the commercial you might have expected: "Cog." Though Honda's famous commercial that breaks down a European Accord Tourer into a Rube Goldberg-esque machine was also a finalist, it was beaten by another Honda commercial called "Grrr" that's narrated by Garrison Keillor of all people. You've probably never seen it, but you can after the jump.
Volkswagen also made the list of finalists, but the particular ad chosen out of all the comical VW ads we've seen was unexpected as well. Most surprising carmaker with a commercial in the finals: Saturn. Who knew...

Honda reports $1.9 billion profit in first quarter despite sales lag at home

Wed, 31 Jul 2013

Ford, General Motors and Chrysler have been living in a world of sunshine and buttercups after their April-through-June financials hit the newswire, and Toyota is doing pretty good as well. Honda? Not so much.
While Japan's third-largest manufacturer saw $1.9 billion in profits, the 5.1-percent jump was lower than expected thanks to a drop in its home-market sales. US sales also took a sting, as Honda hasn't been able to match the SUV and truck demand that are currently permeating the American market, despite an uptick in Accord sales.
Honda's initial forecasts targeted a take of 209.3 billion yen ($2.1 billion at today's rates), and while a $200 million shortfall is nothing to sniff at, we'd hardly take this as Honda being in trouble. And even with the dip, Honda hasn't adjusted its forecast for the fiscal year, which remains at 780 billion yen ($7.9 billion).

United States drivers buying fewer Mexican-made cars

Tue, May 10 2016

Crossovers and pickup trucks are not only growing in market share, they're also more profitable than cars. A crossover on the same platform as a sedan retails for thousands more, despite similar components. It's one of the reasons we've seen automakers rapidly shifting production of their sedans and hatchbacks to Mexico, where cheap labor preserves the thin profit margins on these inexpensive vehicles. But as the market continues to shift in the United States, Mexico is getting burned by its lack of product diversity. The country's auto exports, which are heavy on cars, suffered a 16-percent drop last month, Automotive News reports. In total, year-over-year exports fell from 233,515 to 197,020 last month, while year-to-date exports are down by 7.4 percent, from 922,029 to 854,118. The number one culprit? America – which usually accounts for 75 percent of Mexico's exports – and its appetite for crossovers and pickup trucks bolstered by cheap gas prices. While Mexico does build some light truck models – AN specifically calls out the Ram 2500, Honda HR-V, GMC Sierra, and Toyota Tacoma as export leaders – the vast majority of vehicles rolling out of its factories are sedans and hatchbacks. In fact, the three biggest drops in Mexican exports came from companies whose south of the border factories only build cars – Ford (Fusion/Lincoln MKZ and Fiesta), Mazda (Mazda3), and Volkswagen (Golf and Jetta). Mexican Automotive Industry Association President Eduardo Solis told AN the export shortfall will likely be sorted out sooner rather than later, thanks to a pair of new factories – a Kia car factory and an Audi SUV plant – that are coming online by year's end. The two facilities will add around 100,000 vehicles to the country's export totals, which Solis said should leave the industry on the verge of breaking another export record in 2016. But how sustainable will these record-breaking years be? Slapping an "Hecho en Mexico" sticker on a new German SUV won't be enough to change the fact that Mexico's product mix is tilted too heavily towards body styles that are not growing in volume. Mexico's record-breaking export years probably aren't at an end, but we'd argue they're certainly under threat.
