Excellent Car, I love this baby but as the family as got bigger need to move to a minivan or SUV. Single owner, this car has been the best investment I have ever made, forever reliable, safe, mostly highway miles and great on gas mileage.

Here are some quick details about the car -

2001 Honda Accord EX V6
Approx. 128-129K Miles
Leather Interior
AC/Heating Work Awesome
Tires in Great Shape (Atleast 75% or more of tread left)
Great Accel/Braking power.

Here's some maintenance I've done in the past 25K:

Timing Belt/Drive Belts replaced by HONDA dealership
Side Engine Mount replaced by HONDA dealership
Water Pump replaced by HONDA dealership
Transmission Flush by HONDA dealership
Brake Fluid Flush by HONDA dealership
New Front Tires by HONDA dealership

I've done a bunch of the other usual things to make this baby run smooth. The car has gone thru some bump and go and the typical wear in NJ, the paint is pealing/cracked from certain places (especially the clear coat - see pictures), hood/front bumper could be in better shape (see - pictures), and the cruise control is fluky (works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't). The good thing is that this is a Honda and you can get things fixed cheap or get new parts even cheaper (just search ebay, new bumpers cost like 50 to 80 bucks). You can drive the car as it is perfectly fine and passed NJ inspection this February 2013 (good till February 2015)! Or spend a few hundred bucks and make her look like NEW. KBB has her clocked at $5,500, I'm selling it for much less so that you can use it on making that paint shine.

Send me a message if your interested. =)

Thanks.

Consumer Reports says infotainment systems 'growing first-year reliability plague'

Mon, 27 Oct 2014

The Consumer Reports Annual Auto Reliability Survey (right) is out, and the top two spots look much the same as last year's list with Lexus and Toyota in first and second place, respectively. However, there are some major shakeups for 2014, with Acura plunging eight spots from third in 2013 to 11th this year, and Mazda replaces it on the lowest step of the podium. Honda and Audi round out the top five. This year's list includes six Japanese brands in the top 10, two Europeans, one America and one Korean.
Acura isn't the only one taking a tumble, though. Infiniti is the biggest loser this year by dropping 14 spots to 20th place. Other big losses come from Mercedes-Benz with an 11-place fall to 24th, and GMC, which declines 10 positions to 19th.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, it's not traditional mechanical bugs hauling down these automaker's reliability scores. Instead, pesky problems with infotainment systems are taking a series toll on the rankings. According to Consumer Reports, complaints about "in-car electronics" were the most grumbled about element in new cars. Problem areas included things like unresponsive touchscreens, issues pairing phones and multi-use controllers that refused to work right.

Minivan market not what it used to be, but margins make up for it

Thu, 05 Jun 2014

Residual values for last year's minivans are higher than they were in 2000.
Much like the station wagon was the shuttle of Baby Boomer generation, the minivan has been the primary means of transport for Generations X and Y. Just as the boomers abandoned the Country Squire, though, those kids that were toted around in Grand Caravans and Windstars are adults, and they certainly don't want to be seen in the cars their parents drove.

Euro Honda Civic Type R engines are American-made

Thu, Jul 2 2015

With 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, the latest Honda Civic Type R stands among the top of the current front-wheel drive, hot hatch heap. Sadly for the time being, it's exclusive to European buyers, and folks on this side of the pond might be waiting until 2017 to experience one. American Type R fans can be proud in the meantime, though. That's because the 2.0-liter turbocharged heart in each car doesn't come from Japan or Europe, but instead from Honda's Anna Engine Plant in Ohio. In a new video, the company is showing just a little of what goes into that production. Honda has been building engines at the Anna plant since 1985 and added the capability to produce the new, turbocharged units last year. The automaker currently employs 2,600 people there. In addition to the Type R mill, the factory makes the four- and six-cylinder powerplants for models like the Accord, Civic, CR-V, Acura ILX, TLX, and RDX. Honda intends to offer the next-gen Civic in coupe, sedan, and five-door hatch body styles in the US, and based on the company's concept, the Type R engine might come here in a two-door body. Regardless of the shape it's wrapped in, we look forward to experiencing the turbo 2.0-liter on America's roads.
