2000 Honda Accord SE with just 82750 miles.  This was our third car and was not driven much.  In great condition, new car battery purchased January 2014, two tires purchased February 2013.  Major service done in 2010 including timing belt and water pump.  Does have window tint on all windows except for driver's side (the tint was failing on the driver's side and I removed it).  Tint is not very dark and just matches Maryland tint law of 35% light transmission.  Never been in an accident though does have several scraps - see the pictures for the scraps on the passenger side front fender, driver side rear bumper and peeling paint on the driver's side mirror.  There are other little dings and paint scraps but otherwise in great shape.  No maintenance lights, everything works, cold a/c and we did upgrade to Honda's 6 disc CD changer.  Has 2 sets of keys and remotes

The vehicle history report should really only show 3 owners - we purchased the car in 2005 from a dealer.  We moved from Virginia up to Maryland so it got re-registered but it is still the same owner.  Also, it passed MD emissions inspection in early January 2014, which is not showing up on the report.

Great car, just don't need a third car anymore.

Is Honda working on airbags for smartphones?

Wed, 04 Dec 2013

Smartphones are expensive yet delicate - a single impact on a hard surface can shatter their touchscreens, often damaging them beyond repair. Fitting a case offers only so much protection, but what about an airbag? Honda has explored the concept with the airbag-equipped Case N and even made a video about it. But alas, it isn't real.
For some reason, we really want it to be. Honda has a knack for surprising us with nearly unbelievable inventions designed to improve mankind's quality of life, contraptions like the Walking Assist Device and the UNI-CUB personal mobility devices, so the Case N isn't as far-fetched an idea for the company as you might think.
Head below to watch the video, where you can see the Case N concept in action. You'll also see its generous proportions, which is one reason why it's just a case of Honda humor - not (yet) a market reality.

Honda speeds down memory lane with its first F1 car

Fri, 22 Nov 2013

Though most Formula One teams are based in the UK, they hail from places all around the world. There are teams from Russia, India and Malaysia, but in the 1960s, the idea of an F1 team coming from as far away as Japan was unthinkable in what was a predominantly European racing series. That's just the notion that Honda aimed to upset when it entered the car you see here in the 1964 Formula One World Championship.
With a 1.5-liter V12 dispensing 220 horsepower through a six-speed manual (its shifter necessitating the steering wheel mounted left-of-center), the 1964 Honda RA271 was built around an aluminum monocoque in a package that looks like a Formula Vee car you could erect in your garage, but it state-of-the-art when it was built. Speaking of which, Honda only built one, and today it's part of the Honda Collection Hall at Motegi, but the priceless racer made the trip down to Japan's capital so we could check it out at the Tokyo Motor Show. Awfully nice of Honda, we'd say. Check it out in our gallery of live shots from the show floor above.
