RARE FIND! PROFESSIONALLY SERVICED SINCE NEW; ALL RECEIPTS ARE AVAILABLE!

I am assisting a family friend with the sale of her incredibly well-maintained sedan. I have sold on eBay for 15 years, and have a perfect feedback score. I recently sold my own vehicle on eBay sight unseen to a very satisfied buyer. I tell it like it is so there will be no surprises. This Honda EX is so nice that I am confident even an out-of-state (sight unseen) buyer will be pleased. As the owner was buying her new car, the dealership, two salesman, and one mechanic were all trying to get this Honda from her!

This Honda Accord EX was purchased brand new in Dublin, CA by the current owner, a retired woman. Car was mostly garaged since new. All maintenance services were completed at the dealer, or at local Honda specialists, since new. She has every single service receipt since 1999 (see picture). Every recommended service has been completed on schedule, plus additional services above and beyond factory recommendations were done to provide the current owner peace of mind. Engine oil changed every 3,000 miles! Transmission oil, antifreeze coolant, spark plugs, filters, and other items have been changed multiple times. Tires frequently rotated. Brakes replaced early. Battery replaced early. The car received a $378.52 full service and inspection in preparation for sale and found no defects. This inspection was completed only one hundred (100) miles ago.

Too many services to list (see photo of receipts), but these are some of the larger items completed:

Factory 7.5K service @ 7,610 miles. Factory 15K service @ 15,219. Factory 22.5K service @ 24,087. Factory recommended 30K service @ 29,358. Factory recommended 37.5K service @ 35,852. Factory recommended 45K service @ 45,420. Front alignment @ 47,733. Factory recommended 60K service, new plugs, cap, rotor, filters, trans fluid, change coolant @ 57,005. New rear brakes and resurfaced rotors @ 67,018. New timing belt, coolant flush, engine minor maintenance per factory, new water pump, new belts, new wiper blades @ 80,398. Factory 90K service with new platinum spark plugs, trans fluid, distributor cap & rotor, fuel filter, air filter, coolant @ 86,449. Resealed oil pan to stop small drip @ 91,363. New water pump, timing belt, and drive belts @ 91,599. Factory recommended engine intermediate service, new trans fluid, new rear brakes, new wipers @ 94,492. New trans fluid, replaced front brakes, machined front rotors @ 101,215. Brake inspection 8mm front / 6mm rear @ 103,357. New (4) Big-O Euro Touring tires, nitrogen filled @ 103,367. New trans fluid, tires inspected with 11/32 tread depth @ 109,233 miles. New trans fluid, flush coolant, new antifreeze, new distributor cap, new air filter, new cabin filters, drivetrain fully inspected with everything OK @ 116,337 miles. TIRES ONLY HAVE 13K USE; FULL SERVICE COMPLETED LAST MONTH.

The car drives nice, like you would expect. No noises, squeaks, rattles, pulling to one side, steering wheel shake, or anything along those lines. If you are looking for a good commuter or family car, this is the one. Non-smoker interior. No cat, dog, pets, or kids. The car has only been washed, not detailed, so the center console has some soiling. Otherwise, interior looks excellent, except for two cosmetic defects in the driver's door panel. One of these is hardly visible with the door closed. A/C blows cold. Factory 6 speaker AM/FM/CD player. Cloth interior. One rear electric door locks stick on occasion, but works manually OK. Ignition key needs a little jiggle to turn. Factory front & rear floor mats included. Original keys & original remotes included.

Clean title. Not salvage. Original steel and paint, with the exception of the rear bumper cover. The rear bumper cover was replaced in 1999 due to a minor incident and repainted. The bumper cover paint color is slightly off from the rest of the body, and also the bumper cover clearcoat is starting to flake. There are a few golf ball size dents due to the owner living in a golf course community (see photos). There is a scrape on the rear driver's wheel opening (see photo). A few other light scratches that you would expect from normal use.

Winning bidder must make contact within 24 hours of the end of the auction to make payment arrangements. Full payment due by Friday following auction. Car will not be released until funds are received and cleared. Buyer is responsible for vehicle pick-up or shipping. If you are a California buyer, allow time for a DMV or AAA visit to ensure a proper transfer of ownership. California License Plate Registration is current to 2/20/2014. California Smog Certificate (if needed) will be provided to buyer.

Please send any questions along with your phone number. The vehicle owner will contact you. This is a private party sale and vehicle is sold in "as-is" condition with no warranty expressed or implied from original owner to winning bidder.

Honda Accord Hybrid sales capacity constrained

Thu, 10 Apr 2014

Honda might be selling more hybrids if it could just get them to dealers. While the second-generation Insight never lived up to sales expectations and production is ending, the Japanese automaker is seeing strong demand for the Accord Hybrid here and abroad. However, there is so much global consumer desire that it can't keep them in US showrooms.
The problem limiting the sales of the Accord Hybrid is its battery pack and its popularity in Japan. "There's a waiting list for the product," said Jeff Conrad, Honda general manager, to Ward's Auto about the sedan's US popularity. While the American Accord is built in Marysville, OH, the batteries are imported from Japan, where the model is quite popular. According to Ward's data, the automaker sold 2,414 examples of the hybrid version from October 2013 to February 2014 in the US, but it shifted 6,000 units in Japan in its first three months on sale. Conrad also admitted that the constrained supply is limiting the amount of marketing the automaker can do for the hybrid.
Honda spokesperson Chris Martin told Autoblog the company is working on a solution to increase production for the near future. "We are going to resolve the battery issue," he said.

No S660 for US, but Honda wants sporty cars

Mon, Aug 31 2015

Honda, best known lately for being a mainstream player rather than the brand that brought us the CRX Si, NSX, Integra Type-R, and S2000, apparently wants to builds sporty cars for the US again. With that in mind (or not), Honda has ruled out bringing the tiny, sporty S660 roadster across the Pacific. "I wouldn't put my chips on [the S660]," American Honda Executive Vice President John Mendel told Automotive News. At nearly 11.1 feet long, the S660 slots in between the 12.8-foot Mazda MX-5 Miata and the 8.8-foot Smart ForTwo. Yet Mendel says the tiny two-seater wouldn't work here. "When the practicalities of the market come in, and the car only so big, that might not be the best car for the US market," Mendel said. "It might be better for India or China or somewhere else." Honda is considering its options here in the US, though. As AN reports, after his takeover earlier this year, new CEO Takahiro Hachigo promised more sporting models, like the new, US-bound, 300-horsepower Civic Type R. And while it's no secret that Honda has filed patent drawings for a mid-engine model, Mendel offered little to indicate that it'd become a reality. Calling the project from Honda's Silicon Valley research and design facility a "design study," Mendel wouldn't answer AN when it asked whether this new model was successor to the S2000 or a more attainable, lower-powered NSX. He did, however, say his company was getting pressure from dealers over the lack of verve in the company's lineup. "They want anything in the sports car world," Mendel told AN. "They're going, 'Gimme a sports car.' They want a retractable hardtop; they want a high-horsepower $20,000 sports car. Because that's the nature of what they do." There you are, Honda. Your dealers want it, which means your consumers are probably are asking for it, and your CEO wants it, too. Make something happen.

China's largest dealer body pushes back against foreign automakers over huge inventories

Mon, Jan 5 2015

Do not think for a second that automakers forcing inventory on dealers in order to pad the numbers is a ruse known only in the US. Stories of individual brands have hinted at the trouble Chinese dealerships are having trying to move units as the country's economic growth remains hot but comes off the boil, like the one revealing that 95 percent of Toyota-FAW showrooms are losing money. Yet Toyota isn't the only culprit, and the issue has become so dire that the China Automobile Dealers Association (CADA), the largest dealer body in the country, has written to the government to complain. Chinese car sales are expected to close out the year with an annualized growth of six-percent, down from last year's 14 percent when targets were set, while in the background the pace of overall economic expansion is the slowest its been since the early nineties. Automakers, shipping cars on schedule to make their earlier targets, have blown up inventories such that they are an average of 1.8 times monthly sales, when the preferred multiplier is from 0.9 to 1.2. According to the CADA, the price wars and necessary incentives mean that only 30 percent of dealers are operating in the black. That number is down a whopping forty percent since 2010. In response, Toyota has already said it will not make its 2014 target of 1.1 million cars sold. We're a long way from 2012, when Toyota planned on selling 1.8 million cars in China in 2015, a target that's now as realistic as a manticore. BMW, Honda and Nissan have erased numbers on their spreadsheets, too; BMW growth dropped from 20 percent to 8 percent midyear after it began "reducing wholesale supplies," and Honda has been reworking its plans as sales have decreased each of the past six months. It's a big deal for Chinese dealers to begin protesting publicly, the CADA saying, "In the past, dealers were angry, but dared not speak out. But now, they have to shout because the situation is getting so unbearable." With six-percent growth forecast for next year and dealers unwilling to remain underwater, The Year of the Sheep coming in 2015 could portend meaning beyond the zodiac.
