This is a NO RESERVE auction. Highest bidder wins. This car is good for someone who knows how to fix cars. I am the original owner. There are several scuffs here and there due to it's age. NO accidents. Body is in good condition, just minor dings. It can use a paint job and is peeling here and there (mostly on the bumper and XENON bodykit). There is also a nice flush mount spoiler on the trunk. On the car itself, the top of the mirrors and back panel show sun damage. The rims and tires are in decent condition. The driver seat leather shows wear from getting in and out and there is a tear at the lower section. Back seat lower section has small half inch tear as well. Floor mats are a bit soiled and carpet underneath has been discolored over the years, however they are not filthy. Some paint spilled in the trunk, liner was thrown away. There are still some paint smears here and there. Spare tire and jack are there. There is a small chip in the windshield. The dashboard, radio, and controls are super clean, almost new looking. Some locks don't open or close with the auto switch. Have to do it manually. All windows open and close, sunroof too. Power seats work fine. Main issue: transmission seems to slip out of gears. Can starts and drives, sometimes needs a jump, but slips bad. I don't have the money to fix. Buy this car, fix yourself and save $$. If it wasn't for the transmission, it will still be driving strong. As you can see from the pics, this car is in nice condition for its age. Or if you own an auto part store, you will make thousands of dollars selling the parts. That is not my line of work and I don't have the time to be taking cars apart and selling parts, or I'd do it myself. At this point, I just want to sell it to the highest bidder to take it off my hands. Registration was last paid in 2012 and is currently listed as non operational with the DMV.

So if you are familiar with this issue and can fix it, buy it for this low price and either keep it for yourself or sell it and make money. Buyer must be able to pick up the car from Covina, CA. Or coordinate and pay for shipping if you are out of the area.

Honda Civic Type R caught naked and frisky
Tue, 13 May 2014Honda's upcoming Civic Type R is one of our most anticipated models of the next year - and we probably won't even get it in North America. And yet, each time we see it, the five-door just seems so menacing and purposeful. An all-but-undisguised version has just been spotted by our photographers testing on the back roads in Germany. If this signals what to expect, then the project appears to be coming along nicely.
Compared to the concept shown at the Geneva Motor Show, this prototype looks even meaner. Check out those big, blistered front fender extensions, taller wing, deeply sculpted front air dam and 10-spoke gold wheels. The Type R certainly certainly isn't hiding its performance intentions, and it has no reason to. Under the hood, we know it packs Honda's new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder pumping out 276 horsepower, which is likely connected to a six-speed manual.
Now, if only Honda could find some way to get this machine across The Pond and into the our hot little hands. There has already been an online petition begging the Japanese automaker to find a way, and after recently enjoying an all-too-brief prototype drive, we're ready to sign up.
Toyota, Ford and Honda again top Consumer Reports Car-Brand Perception Survey
Fri, 01 Feb 2013Consumer Reports has released its annual Car-Brand Perception Survey, and the list looks awfully familiar. The top six brands are identical to last year's results, with Toyota, Ford and Honda continuing to occupy the podium. All told, Toyota walked away with 133 points, putting it 15 ahead of second-place Ford. Honda jumped 26 points this year, narrowing Ford's lead to just four points in total.
Consumer Reports polls buyers from across the country on how they see multiple brands in seven categories, including quality, safety, value, performance, design/style, technology/innovation and environmentally friendly/green. Researchers then combine the findings to come up with the total brand score.
While value and performance remain important to buyers, CR found quality and safety are still on top when it comes to significance. Scion and Mitsubishi found themselves at the bottom of the pack with the worst score of all, tied at just six points. Ram, Fiat and Mini filled out the lowest five with scores of seven, eight and 10 points, respectively. You can read the full press release below for more information, or head over to the Consumer Reports site.
MotorWeek checks out two sides of the '90s Japanese car scene
Sat, Feb 6 2016MotorWeek's Retro Reviews let you feel nostalgic about a huge range of classic cars, and the latest two releases offer a look at two very different sides of the Japanese car market in the 1990s. The video above shows off tuned examples of the Mazda RX-7 and Nissan 300ZX. Check out the clip below to remember the 1997 Honda CR-V, if you want to reminisce about something a little more utilitarian. The RX-7 and 300ZX were among the era's best Japanese sports cars, and these examples' suspension and engine overhauls gave them an extra boost. Peter Farrel Supercars tunes the Mazda, and the vibrant yellow paint and body kit make it look ready for an episode of Initial D. The updated powertrain stands up to the mean styling and gets the RX-7 to 60 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds. The Stillen 300ZX GTZ sports a giant wing, and new turbos take the output to 465 hp. It sprints to 60 in 4.9 seconds. The CR-V sits on the opposite end of the automotive spectrum as the tuned RX-7 and 300ZX, but it's even more important in a historical sense. The Honda (along with the Toyota RAV4 and others) was among the progenitors of today's mega-popular compact crossovers. These early examples set the foundation for offering buyers a utilitarian vehicle in a comfortable package with good fuel economy at an affordable price. The CR-V had some quirky charm, too, like the removable picnic table hidden in the cargo floor. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences.
