DRIVERS DOOR KEY LOCK IS PUSHED INSIDE THE DOOR...ELEC LOCKS OPEN ALL DOORS FROM PASS SIDE OR REAR HATCH. TRIM BELOW DRIVERS SIDE IS MISSING...SEE PIC. FUEL LINES AND LOTS OF AC WORK DONE BY HONDA RECENTLY....AS I SAY, ALL RECORDS ARE WITH CAR. I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM YOUNG FAMILY AT 43500 MILES IN LATE 2003, SO I THINK I AM SECOND OWNER. TIMING BELT DONE AT RECOMMENDED INTERVALS...1ST ONE AT 90000, SECOND ONE AT 180000. AS I SAY ASK QUESTIONS, THANKS! REVISION...PLEASE NOTE: see photos of title etc IN LISTING THIS CAR ON EBAY I HAVE LEARNED THAT ACCORDING TO THE DATA SEARCH THAT EBAY USES, THE CAR WAS CONSIDERED A SALVAGE BEFORE I BOUGHT IT (IN 2003). THE SERVICE SAYS THAT AT AROUND 6000 MILES SOMETHING HAPPENED. I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS. PLEASE SEE THE PHOTOS OF THE TITLE AS WELL AS THE PREVIOUS TITLE FROM THE PEOPLE I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM IN 2003. I HAVE RELISTED THE CAR WITH THE TITLE LISTED AS "SALVAGE" BECAUSE EBAY POLICY SAYS I MUST. PLEASE NOTE THAT I HAVE DRIVEN THIS CAR FOR A DECADE, HAD IT SERVICED AT A HONDA DEALER REGULARLY OVER THE YEARS AND THIS IS THE FIRST I HAVE HEARD OF THIS. PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS....I KNOW THIS SOUNDS LAME, BUT THIS IS A GREAT CAR. Acura introduces a sleeker self-driving test car
Wed, May 18 2016As we creep ever closer to an autonomous-car future, one thing is for certain, most of the driverless cars we see being tested look hideous thanks to all the sensors strapped to the roof. Today Acura introduced its second generation Automated Acura RLX Development Vehicle with updated sensors and a more pleasing aesthetic. Gone is the spinning LIDAR system replaced with a more compact and robust version of the light detection and ranging technology. It's also got updated RADAR, camera, GPS and higher performance GPUs and CPUs as well as what Acura is calling "more intelligent software algorithms to support more complex testing scenarios." Acura and its parent company Honda have been testing autonomous cars at its GoMentum Station in the Bay Area since last year with a specially outfitted RLX (shown in the video above with the spinning LIDAR system). This new car will replace that vehicle. This article by Roberto Baldwin originally ran on Engadget, the definitive guide to this connected life. Honda MC-? will use solar-powered chargers in 'micro' EV tests
Mon, Feb 3 2014Honda is envisioning what it calls a CO2-free society and, not surprisingly, it's a rather sunny one, in one Japanese city, at least. The Japanese automaker is kicking off a test program with the micro-electric-vehicle that will use power generated via photovoltaic energy collected and stored at EV charging stations. Yes, the big old sun will power those little-bitty MC-? cars. MC-? is shorthand for "Micro Computer Beta" and the car is certainly an appropriate vehicle for these tests. The car is 98 inches long (about eight inches shorter than a Smart ForTwo) and has a 43-mile-per-hour top speed as well as an electric motor that delivers a meager eight horsepower. The car is designed to meet Europe's quadricycle regulations and has a 50-mile single-charge range. No word on if or when it'll go into production, of course, but Honda and Toshiba are working with Japan's Miyakojima City on the project, with Toshiba responsible for building three solar-powered EV-charging stations. The Japanese automaker unveiled the latest incarnation of the 1+1 tandem-seating-arrangement MC-? last fall. You can see our "Quick Spin" impressions of the model here and read Honda's press release below. Honda Begins Experimental Test-driving of MC-? Micro-sized EV Using Renewable Energy TOKYO, Japan, January 28, 2014 - Jointly with Miyakojima City and Toshiba Corporation, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. began experimental test-driving of the MC-?, Honda's micro-sized EV, using photovoltaic (PV) energy as part of the Miyakojima City Small-sized Electromotive Mobility Project*1. Through this experimental program, Honda will operate an environmentally-responsible micro-sized EV using renewable energy, and work together with the local community to explore the possibility of a CO2-free society. In November 2013, Honda began separate field tests jointly conducted with Kumamoto Prefecture, Saitama City and Miyakojima City using the MC-?. For the field tests in Miyakojima City, as a part of the initiative as an environmentally-responsible model city, the feasibility of the introduction and utilization of small-sized electromotive mobility products and electricity supply facilities are being verified. For this particular driving experiment in the city using renewable energy, the MC-? will be charged from three new PV recharging stations newly built by Toshiba.
Honda reveals new Civic hatch for WTCC
Tue, 03 Dec 2013If you thought the Honda Civic Type R prototype we drove in Japan looked cool, and that the Civic Tourer that Honda will race in the British Touring Car Championship next year looks even cooler, just take a look at this.
Possibly the ultimate race-spec Civic, this is the car Honda will field next year in the World Touring Car Championship. Like the Type R prototype (but unlike the BTCC-spec wagon) the WTCC challenger takes the form of Honda's latest Euro-spec Civic five-door hatchback.
It's the car with which Honda intends to defend its title and capture the driver's title in next year's championship. It'll face a tough challenge from the new Citroën team headlined by Sebastien Loeb in the new C-Elysee, not to mention the rest of the grid. Fortunately, Honda is entering a whole mess of these Civics in the series, with former champion Gabriele Tarquini and former F1 driver Tiago Monteiro driving the works entries (hence the mixed "Gabriago" tag on the window) and another pair to be entered by privateer teams.
