You are bidding on a 1988 Honda Accord LXI? 101K original miles. Vehicle appears to have spent  a good amount of time in a grage  . Everything works on this car except the air conditioner . It is a true "time machine". I would bet that no one has ever been in the back seat! The driving experience is definitely NOT that of a 26 yr old car! This car has had a pampered life and it shows. Good luck.

PAINT:
Paint is original with no evidence of any painted panels. By no means does she still have a "New Car Sheen", but definitely a lot of shine and life left.

ENGINE:

Starts up immediately and settles into a nice smooth 600rpm idle.

TRANSMISSION:
Transmission up shifts and downshifts smoothly  with no jerking or slipping. Drive to reverse to drive creates no clunk or abnormal vibration.

BRAKES/TIRES
Brakes show around 75% useful life left. Front tires are good it will need back tires soon

ELECTRICAL:
.... all windows, locks,  Cruise control, cassette player all perform perfectly.
Everything works!! except for the Air cond

INTERIOR:
Upholstery is in amazing condition. No tears, no worn panels, no fading, nice firm cushions still. Dash has no cracks or dry rot anywhere. Carpet and headliner are also perfect!

Design Handbook explains the difference between design and styling

Fri, 11 Oct 2013

It's easy to confuse the terms 'design' and 'style,' but Jim Hall attempts to explain the difference between the two in his latest Design Handbook video column for Autoline. Before relating the terms to cars, Hall first uses other, non-automotive-related examples to prove his point, such as a well-designed glass versus a well-styled glass. Both do their job well as a result of good designs, he claims, but one stands out more because it also was styled.
When he relates his lesson to cars, he uses the 2013 Honda Accord and the new Chevrolet Impala as examples, but you'll have to watch the video below to find out which car he thinks is merely designed and which one has been styled.
We've also included a gallery of the Honda and a gallery of the Chevrolet so you can decide for yourself which one of these vehicles has been designed, and which one has been styled.

Honda delays JDM Legend over quality concerns

Tue, Dec 30 2014

Honda has been having some quality issues lately, to say the least. Most of those have revolved around the airbags supplied by Takata, but not exclusively. The new Fit Hybrid, for example, has been subject to five consecutive recalls in the year since it launched. And now the Japanese automaker is reportedly delaying the launch of its new Legend sedan. The Legend, for those unfamiliar, is what Honda calls the Acura RLX in the Japanese Domestic Market – a model that has been subject to a handful of recalls in the United States, affecting components ranging from headlights to seatbelts to suspension bolts. Such quality control issues have prompted Honda to delay the introduction of its flagship sedan in its home market, pushing its arrival in Japanese showrooms back from the fall (when the model was revealed) initially to January 22 and now to February 20, according to the report from Bloomberg. The extra time is earmarked the give Honda engineers the opportunity to look into potential problems with the vehicle's radar safety system and its advanced hybrid powertrain, before introducing it to the local market. Hopefully further recalls can be avoided once deliveries have commenced.
