Is Acura working on a premium minivan?

Here's a vehicle that nobody saw coming. Unless Honda/Acura is keen to play tricks on us, our spy shooters recently caught what appears to be an Acura minivan fully camouflaged for testing on some back roads on a rainy day.
Details on the disguised minivan are rather scarce, but it certainly bares all the hallmarks of an Acura. The front grille alone gives it away with a look that mimics the latest MDX, and note that the orientation of the rear door handle heavily suggests that it slides to open. Moving inside, the tester appears to borrow some tech from the luxury brand's parts bin too, and the Acura logo seems to be covered in tape right in the middle of the steering wheel.
Mechanically, our spies believe that the production version of Acura's minivan might borrow the brand's V6, nine-speed automatic and Super Handling All-Wheel Drive - a similar layout to some trims of the TLX. The photographers also think that the vehicle is a little wider than the current Honda Odyssey to give occupants a bit more room. Given the more luxurious focus, the high-end model would surely carry seven people with a bit more opulence than the standard Odyssey, especially, we'd imagine, for second-row passengers. A launch for this posh hauler could be slated for the 2016 or 2017 model years.

2017 Honda Civic Coupe spotted for the first time

Rumors about the next-generation Honda Civic have been coming fast and furious in recent weeks. The speculation suggests the future model will use a new 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and some European body styles will come across the Atlantic. There's even the potential for an overhaul of the CR-Z on the same platform. Now, we've got a glimpse at what the next Civic looks like in coupe and sedan form. Our spies believe that under all that black diaper is the 2017 Civic Coupe, but it's hard to discern any details. With an open section on top it's even difficult to get a good idea of the roofline, though some of the photos suggest a fastback-style rear. The examples concealed in white are believed to be the future Civic Sedan, and one of them is exposed enough to get a good idea of its shape. In profile the look is reminiscent of the current Accord, which is good, if conservative. Seeing the two versions together provides few hints about the coupe's styling, other than a shared wheelbase between both cars. The apparent door handle cutout on the driver's side of the coupe is likely a camouflage trick to hide any information about the length or shape of the doors. One recent rumor suggests that the next-gen Civic's styling could be fully unveiled towards the end of 2015. Acura introduces a sleeker self-driving test car

As we creep ever closer to an autonomous-car future, one thing is for certain, most of the driverless cars we see being tested look hideous thanks to all the sensors strapped to the roof. Today Acura introduced its second generation Automated Acura RLX Development Vehicle with updated sensors and a more pleasing aesthetic. Gone is the spinning LIDAR system replaced with a more compact and robust version of the light detection and ranging technology. It's also got updated RADAR, camera, GPS and higher performance GPUs and CPUs as well as what Acura is calling "more intelligent software algorithms to support more complex testing scenarios." Acura and its parent company Honda have been testing autonomous cars at its GoMentum Station in the Bay Area since last year with a specially outfitted RLX (shown in the video above with the spinning LIDAR system).
