2011 Honda Accord Crosstour EX-L FWD

  • Like new condition
  • Low mileage (just under 21,000 at this time)
  • One owner
  • Dealer serviced only
  • All maintenance records
  • No accidents
  • Never Smoked In
  • Clear Title

Car was delivered in January 2012, so I have about 8 months left on the bumper-to-bumper warranty that will transfer to new owner.  2 years 8 months on the rest of the standard factory warranty.  Car was only driven by me.  AutoCheck shows lien but loan has been paid in full, I have lien release to prove.

Exterior:

There are only two minor flaws including a 1-inch scratch in the paint on the lower front left bumper (pictured) and a very shallow ding on the roof line above the left rear passenger door that wouldn't show up in a photo.  You have to really be looking to find either one.  There are a few minor rock chips on hood and front bumper, but they are extremely minor and difficult to see (only about as big as the point of a ball point pen).  Apart from that, exterior is like new.

  • Paint is glossy and smooth in all places.  I clay barred and waxed the car in the spring and fall each year including the door jams.  I just did the same last week.  Car was garaged.
  • Glass everywhere is mint.
  • Body moldings, trim and chrome are like new.
  • There is zero curb rash or scratches on all four wheels.  I only pictured one to save room for other photos. No stains on wheels as I wash them regularly and use cleaner wax to seal the paint.  They are mint.
  • Tires are excellent and have been rotated at recommended intervals.

Interior:

Just as nice as exterior.

  • I have new, unused floor mats that will go with the car.  I immediately put in WeatherTech floor liners, including the trunk tray when I bought the car.  These weather tech liners were about $300.  Carpet is mint inside.  I will include the WeatherTech liners with buy-it-now.
  • Dash and headliner are perfect.  Plastic on the rocker panels is excellent.  The soft touch material on the doors is like new.
  • Leather seats are mint and have been kept very clean. I used Zymol leather conditioner to keep them soft and free of cracking and fading.

Mechanical:

All electrics work as designed.  Mechanically there is nothing to mention and service is up to date.  It runs like a new car and is in better cosmetic condition than most certified used dealer cars.  If I traded this car in, it would need zero reconditioning before being put on the dealer lot.  Comes with both sets of keys and all books and records.  I get about 22mpg in mainly city driving, about 29mpg highway.  Great, quiet road car.  No squeaks or rattles.

I think I've covered everything about the condition of the car.  I’m confident enough in my description that I will allow the winning bidder to walk away with full refund if, after inspection, the car is not as nice as expected.  I don’t usually recommend buying sight-unseen, but this car is good enough to do that.

Payment/Shipping:

As far as payment goes, it must be paid for in full before it leaves my garage.  I’m looking for a $400 deposit through PayPal to end the listing and the balance to be paid with a cashier’s check.  I can accept a personal check, but funds must clear before the car goes anywhere and before any title paperwork is signed and transferred.  Any shipping arrangements will be the responsibility of the buyer, though I am willing to assist.

Car is priced to sell. I'm selling because we have a new company car.  I'm just looking for about trade-in value according to Edmunds.  Whoever buys this will be getting a good deal.  No disappointments.   If I missed anything or if you have any questions, call 773-470-8388.

Compact SUV Comparison: Specs, pics and reviews of every brand's crossover

Wed, Jul 25 2018

Honda CR-V vs Toyota RAV4. Chevy Equinox vs Ford Escape. Mazda CX-5 vs Subaru Forester. Whichever combinations of compact crossover SUV you're considering, there's probably a comparison test or chart out there to read. Heck, you can even create a three-car comparison yourself here at Autoblog. However, if you want a bunch of that information all in one convenient place, well, here it is. Our mega comparison of specs, features and photos of compact SUV entries from every mainstream manufacturer that sells them. That includes the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, 2018 Ford Escape, 2018 GMC Terrain, 2018 Honda CR-V, 2018 Hyundai Tucson, 2019 Jeep Cherokee (it's already on sale with notable changes from 2018), 2018 Jeep Compass, 2018 Kia Sportage, 2018 Mazda CX-5, 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross (none of Mitsu's SUVs are perfect fits for this segment, so we deemed the MEC the most competitive fit), 2018 Nissan Rogue, 2018 Subaru Forester, 2018 Toyota RAV4 and 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan. We can update this comparison as more information about 2019 models is released, most notably the Forester and RAV4. Now, there are certainly some models that are smaller (Nissan Rogue Sport) or larger (Kia Sorento) that could also be considered, but we figured it was wise to stick with those in this sweet spot of comparable size and price. We also included links to Autoblog reviews, buying guides and smaller comparisons. Engines and Transmissions With rare exception, this segment features four-cylinder power. Sometimes it's turbocharged, often its not, but standard engine outputs are generally in the same ballpark. Therefore, we'd recommend focusing on torque output, as it's what will make a difference around town or when passing, and weighing that versus fuel economy (the Chevy Equinox, GMC Terrain, Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5 make particularly strong cases in this regard). Many drivers aren't too fond of continuously variable transmissions (CVT), either, so that's another thing to consider and note during a test drive. As you can see, several models are available with performance upgrades. Besides the Jeep Cherokee's available V6, all are more powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engines. The exception to this would be the Honda CR-V and Ford Escape, as their 1.5-liter turbo engines don't prioritize performance. Instead, they serve as overall upgrades to the base naturally aspirated engines standard on only their base trim levels (CR-V LX and Escape S).

Poor headlights cause 40 cars to miss IIHS Top Safety Pick rating

Mon, Aug 6 2018

Over the past few months, we've noticed a number of cars and SUVs that have come incredibly close to earning one of the IIHS's highest accolades, the Top Safety Pick rating. They have great crash test scores and solid automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning systems. What trips them up is headlights. That got us wondering, how many vehicles are there that are coming up short because they don't have headlights that meet the organization's criteria for an "Acceptable" or "Good" rating. This is a revision made after 2017, a year in which headlights weren't factored in for this specific award. This is also why why some vehicles, such as the Ford F-150, might have had the award last year, but have lost it for this year. We reached out to someone at IIHS to find out. He responded with the following car models. Depending on how you count, a whopping 40 models crash well enough to receive the rating, but don't get it because their headlights are either "Poor" or "Marginal." We say depending on how you count because the IIHS actual counts truck body styles differently, and the Infiniti Q70 is a special case. Apparently the version of the Q70 that has good headlights doesn't have adequate forward collision prevention technology. And the one that has good forward collision tech doesn't have good enough headlights. We've provided the entire list of vehicles below in alphabetical order. Interestingly, it seems the Volkswagen Group is having the most difficulty providing good headlights with its otherwise safe cars. It had the most models on the list at 9 split between Audi and Volkswagen. GM is next in line with 7 models. It is worth noting again that though these vehicles have subpar headlights and don't quite earn Top Safety Pick awards, that doesn't mean they're unsafe. They all score well enough in crash testing and forward collision prevention that they would get the coveted award if the lights were better.

Honda China struggling with high-end Accord because Chinese covet German cars, too

Sun, 06 Jul 2014

It's not particularly unusual to see cheap cars in China, or those with designs stolen from foreign competitors, but increasingly the best-selling vehicles there would be very recognizable to just about any auto enthusiast. There appears to be one fact of life whether looking at car buyers in Sacramento, Stuttgart or Shanghai: People who can afford to buy premium cars often look first at the Germans.
Honda recently thought that it could challenge this perceived wisdom by including a premium Accord in the ninth-generation sedan's Chinese launch last year. The market-exclusive version was priced against the Audi A4. The venture failed, miserably.
According to Automotive News China, sales for the new Accord in China are down 37 percent through May of this year. Honda's overall sales are actually up by about 11 percent there on the strength of smaller, less profitable models. However, the company is still off its forecast 19-percent rise.
