2012 - Honda Accord on 2040-cars
Jennerstown, Pennsylvania, United States
2012 Honda Accord EX-L Coupe 2-Door 3.5L 6 Speed Manual Trans w/Leather Additional photographs at the bottom of the listing. This coupe is practically, as new, it still has the new car smell and in like new mechanical condition. Purchased in August 2012, it is my go south car for the winter. It has never seen snow and always garaged and covered with the included Honda Accord Full Car cover. Mechanically she is flawless. Mobil 1 ever since the first oil change at around 1K Miles. Oil is usually time change with 80-90% oil life remaining and I only use OEM Honda Parts. Oil service due this month and tire rotation will be accomplished before buyer takes delivery. Brakes are excellent and flawless. All interior comfort features function. The independently controlled heat and cooling work flawlessly. The fuel economy is exceptional for a car this size, she has only had 16 stops at the gas station averaging around 34MPG at legal highway speeds and gets around 29MPG around town using Sunoco 93 Octane fuel(not required but always used). It actually does better than my 07' Civic Si. You will not find a more stunning example of this car anywhere on eBay. Full description of factory equipment at the end of this listing. The full Honda bumper to bumper warranty is in effect till 09/2015. That's 36 Months or 36,000 Miles, whichever comes first. When this Accord Coupe was purchased, several options, I felt necessary, were installed. Suspension and Tires: Having owned a 2009 Coupe, always appreciated the fine mix of comfort and performance but for serious highway cruising I always felt the suspension was lacking. Toss the Accord coupe around and it will push into corners, which is to be expected from a front-wheel driver weighing in at 3,400 pounds and the factory installed all-season tires don't help. The Honda Factory Performance (HFP) Suspension Package. Before taking delivery, the dealer installed the HFP struts, revised springs and rear control arms. Mated to the new suspension were new wheels and shoes. Not only are the HFP wheels attractive, especially with the coupe's Polished Metal Metallic paint, but functionally permitted the installation of aggressive low profile 245/40ZR19s Michelin's Pilot Super Sport Max Performance Summer Tires. I can't say enough about these tires but have included a short Michelin propaganda note at the bottom of the listing. This alone with an expert 4 wheel laser alignment (Specs Included) was $5,012.10 and is the best performance enhancement you can make to this coupe. Coupled with the last year of the Double Wishbone Front Suspension(12' last year, no longer available) and the Multi-Link Rear Suspension turns this coupe into a drama free highway cruiser comfortable at any speed. Most stunning Accord Coupe anywhere, a conversation piece no matter where I stop. Appearance: This 2012 Accord Coupe has a more aerodynamic front fascia. The fog lights are set into deeper scallops and a larger lower air intake and a bolder grill. At the rear, the taillights are more chiseled, their sides getting a protruding ridge that follow the body character line. Even though the updates enhance this coupes' handsomeness, I had the dealer install appearance package that really brings out her character. You just can not beat the Honda Factory upgrade components, The Body Side Molding, Molded Side Spoilers, Front Under Spoiler and Rear Under Spoiler establish a unique and aggressive appearance package all color matched to the beautiful factory Polished Metal Metallic paint. Well worth the investment of $2,752.14 and all components are warranted for the same factory period. Overall Driving Experience: This coupe is an absolute joy to drive. The heated front buckets are firm, logging several 12 hour days in the coupe were effortless. There's a surprising amount of room in the back seat for two average-size adults. The added Honda Interior Illumination Kit (Blue) makes driving through the night very comfortable. The Hands Free Bluetooth interface works flawlessly allowing you to conduct a conversation while on the highway. The engine spools quickly and the throttle response is immediate from just about anywhere in the RPM band. As the tachometer needle passes 4,900 rpm, the VTEC transitions to a high-lift, long-duration intake-cam profile for exceptional power at high-rpm. No wonder Honda’s 3.5L V-6 earned its fourth Ward’s 10 Best Engines trophy since 2005. The motor is coupled to the Honda Close-Ratio ultra slick 6-Speed Manual transmission. Going up and down the gears is a cinch with the hydraulically assisted clutch. The upgraded suspension lowers the entire car and with the Michelin Super Sport rubber provides unrivaled handling performance for a car in this class. She feels decidedly comfortable at any speed without the hint of floating or diving. Quiet, sleek, fast, powerful, beautiful are just some of the adjectives that come to mind. You will not be disappointed. Honda Installed Options List: SPORT SUSPENSION KIT $884.40 WHEEL ALLOY 19" HFP $1,596.00 MICHELIN PILOT SUPER SPORTs 245/40ZR19 $1248.00 BODY SIDE MOLDING $214.06 SIDE SPOILER $562.80 FRONT UNDER SPOILER $378.00 REAR UNDER SPOILER $376.00 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION $111.55 CAR COVER $256.28 Emissions and Mechanical Inspection: This automobile has just been inspected by a Pennsylvania (PA) State Licensed Authority. PA emissions and mechanical inspection are good through August 2015. The Fine Print: No road rash however on the front bumper there is a barely perceptible mark as if someone walked by and got to close. The SHQ Photos at the end of the listing allow you to zoom in considerably, just click on the photo. On the rear bumper at the license depression there is a minor scrape, also almost imperceptible. No matter where I park, she always draws a crowd. Honda Civic Wagon Concept to debut at Geneva
Wed, 06 Feb 2013Honda is getting warmed up for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, with a sketch of some very Euro-flavored forbidden fruit. Seen above (click on the image to see an expanded view) is the Honda Civic Wagon Concept Model - a rather tentative name for a car that Honda claims "provides strong cues for the exterior design of the final mass produced version."
The sketch seen here is obviously very stylized, but we think that if Honda can stay true to its sleek rounded forms and aggressive silhouette, the final product could be quite fetching. Note that this is an image handed out by Honda of Europe, for a European auto show - we have every expectation that that any production-ready Civic wagon will be a Europe-only deal. Sorry, guys.
Find Honda's brief press release below, which also includes news of the European debut of the updated NSX Concept we saw at January's Detroit Auto Show, along with a diesel-powered CR-V.
Is your new-car warranty good at the race track?
Mon, Feb 27 2017We've all heard the horror stories. Your buddy knows a girl that was dating a guy whose best friend's brother once broke his brand-new, recently purchased performance car while making runs at a drag strip or laps at a track day, and the manufacturer wouldn't cover the repair under warranty. True story? Urban legend? Complete crap? Yes, no, maybe. One thing's for sure: Automotive warranties have always come with caveats. In 1908, an ad in the Trenton Evening Times clearly stated: "All Ford Cars Guaranteed for One Year." Although it changed over time, by 1925 the Ford New Car Guarantee only covered 90 days on material and 30 days on labor, and it clearly stated that that there was "No guarantee whatever on Fan Belts, Glass, Bulbs, Wiring, Transmission, Bands, Hose Connections, Commutator Shells, Rollers, Spark Plugs or Gaskets." Whether or not Ol' Henry would pay to fix your Model T if you broke it shaving a tenth off your lap time at the local board track seems to be lost to history. We're guessing no. But what about today? Do new-car warranties in 2017 cover cars when they are driven on race tracks? We researched the warranties of 14 auto brands to find out, and the answer is yes, no, maybe, depending on the brand, in some cases the model, and whether or not your car is modified from stock. Acura has been out of the high-performance car game for a number of years, but jumps back into the party in 2017 with its hybrid-powered $173,000 NSX supercar. And Acura's warranty, as well as Honda's, clearly states that it does not cover "the use of the vehicle in competition or racing events." View 33 Photos So we asked Sage Marie, Senior Manager of Public Relations for Honda and Acura. "If the car is stock, the warranty covers it on a track just as it does on the street. No question," he told us. "However, if the car is modified, say with slick tires or other components that would put higher stresses on the vehicle's parts and systems, then we would have to investigate the circumstances further." Marie went on to say the same would be true for any Acura model or Honda vehicle, including the new 2017 Honda Civic Si. This became a common theme. Chevrolet actually started this practice with the fifth-generation Camaro on the high-performance ZL1 and Z/28 models.
Honda builds up new Civic Type R ahead of Geneva debut
Wed, Feb 11 2015It's been a long time coming, but it's almost here. Or almost there, we should say, because it sadly won't be coming (at least in this form) to the United States. We're talking, of course, about the new Honda Civic Type R – a hot hatch we've been anticipating for about a year and a half now through a series of prototypes and concept cars. It's finally set to bow just weeks from now, in final production form, at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. But before it does, Honda is giving us yet another taste of what to expect with a trio of teaser images and some juicy details. That Honda's new hot hatch would be powered by its new 2.0-liter turbo four we already knew, but now the Japanese automaker is telling us that it'll produce enough juice to propel the Euro-spec pocket rocket up to a top speed of 167 miles per hour. In a hatchback. That feat will be enabled in large part by its advanced aerodynamics, elements of which we can begin to see from the teaser images – including a big front splitter, deep side skirts, a giant rear wing and an almost completely flat underbody. It'll also be kept in check by a set of Brembo brakes with 13.8-inch drilled discs clamped by four-piston calipers up front and packed into a unique set of 19-inch alloys. It'll all be wrapped for the show stand in classic Japanese racing white, and we're even given a glimpse inside the cabin, where we can see red-glowing instruments, a red center marker at the top of the steering rim and that +R button we were promised. It's all shaping up to be a rather tempting package indeed, but will have to fend off the likes of the new Ford Focus RS and ever-improving challengers from the likes of Renault and Seat to dominate the European hot hatch scene. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to see in what form Honda brings the fight to America, too.
