GM opens military discount to 21M veterans and their spouses

May marks the start of National Military Appreciation Month, and General Motors is getting into the spirit by expanding its military discount program to, well, just about everyone. That includes a total of 21 million military veterans and their spouses, along with the current slate of active duty, reserve, and National Guard members. The discount can slash thousands of dollars off the price of a new Buick, Chevrolet, or GMC vehicles, with Automotive News listing an $1,100 discount on the top gas-powered version of the Malibu, the Premiere. Those that want a bit more spice can get $1,700 off the price of a last-generation 2015 Camaro SS, while truck buyers will enjoy $3,000 off the Chevy Silverado All Star. That's just a start, though, since the military discount can be paired with other GM incentives. The discount doesn't apply to everything, though. Some are understandable – none of Cadillac's vehicles are included in the deal, nor is the Corvette Z06. You'll also be unable to apply the discount to a range of base-level trims, like the Chevy Cruze or Equinox L, the base Colorado, or the entry level GMC Acadia, Canyon, and Terrain. GMC vehicles earn spot on Madden NFL 25's roster

In the real world, the Super Bowl MVP gets a Chevrolet Corvette. Last year's MVP, Joe Flacco, took delivery of a C7 Corvette Stingray after leading the Baltimore Ravens to victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
In the video game world of the Madden NFL series, the Super Bowl MVP gets a 2014 GMC Sierra Denali. Why no Stingray in the video game? Because GMC inked a deal with EA Sports for the truck and SUV builder to be named the official vehicle of the football video game's twenty-fifth anniversary edition.
The new Sierra Denali will be joined by the Yukon, Acadia, and Terrain in game, with stadium promotions for the brand throughout the season. Yes, even when you're beating the hell out of your buddy who insists on playing with the hateful Cowboys, you'll be seeing commercials. (Hold your keystrokes, Cowboy fans. We're just kidding. Sort of.)

AEV-upgraded GMC Canyon AT4X, Chevy Colorado ZR2 appear in spy photos

As with the previous generation, it appears the 2023 Chevy Colorado ZR2 will be getting a special AEV version. Not only that, but its twin, the GMC Canyon AT4X will get one, too. And as these spy photos show, they'll have some additional off-road accessories included, as well as bigger tires. We'll start with the GMC Canyon. The first example of the truck without any camouflage is not quite fully upgraded like the camouflage vehicles. But it has one part not seen on the others: the AEV snorkel. 2023 Chevy Colorado ZR2 AEV Bison prototype View 13 Photos The two appear to be riding on larger Goodyear Wrangler Terrain MT tires. These look like 35-inch examples -- 2 inches larger than the biggest tires available on the ZR2 and AT4X. They're also mounted on beadlock capable wheels. Besides the bigger tires, both trucks also feature a new bed-mounted spare tire. It's a full-size spare, and unlike past bed-mounts, this one places the tire flush against the cab. The benefit of moving the spare to the bed is departure angle. And while this position looks a little less like how trophy trucks carry their spares, it should provide better cargo space. Rear visibility probably isn't great, though. Generalizing based on what we know about the current ZR2 Bison, the new AEV trucks will probably get unique grilles, steel bumpers, fender flares, a suspension lift and possibly even axle ratio changes. Additional options such as a winch could be offered, too. We expect the trucks will be revealed within the next year, since the base trucks have already been shown, and these are just upgraded versions of those trucks.
